Baron takes weeks and sometimes months to get back with you to let you know if the space is available for rent or if it is already taken. That can provide an income when trying to put on an event for a certain date often times most banquet facilities are booked up a year in advance so to wait weeks or even months for reply is truly unprofessional and provides a inconvenience to the customer. Baron needs to provide better customer service. They need to have someone assisting him so on days when he is unavailable are off business is still being handled and not placed on hold. Although this is a nice venue I would recommend you find another place. Somewhere where business is handled more professionally.

This facility is located right on the corner of P.C.H. and Pier Ave, and serves as sort of an ambassador to the city. You don't have to be a local to come on in, and take any number of classes. These classes are reasonably priced, and taught by professionals in their fields. One of the newest classes hosted by the community center is the ARTZ Unlimited School program. This program consist of a children s program in which they are taught to draw everything from landscapes to animals in pastel, watercolor, and even oil. There is also an adult program for oil painting, or watercolor. these classes offer individualized attention, small class sizes, and All Skill Levels. You can learn the actual techniques of art's greatest, in a fun, non pressured environment....plus you're near some of Hermosa's best restaurants, shops, and even a gallery.

But due to work, I have only been able to take a few classes throughout the years. But I do love the variety of classes that they offer and how constant their schedule is. If you are looking for a Japanese school for your child to attend, they offer that. If you would like to just learn more about the community through the different cultural classes, just sign up for the emails and you can be alerted for upcoming classes that they offer. I've taken amigurumi (crochet), ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement), and a cooking class. All of the instructors are great and mostly volunteers. So it just shows you what a great community there is. They have festivals through the year and also help put on the West Covina Cherry Blossom Festival. They also host the West Covina obon at the center but it is organized by the Buddhist church which is based out of the community center. 11 year member here! I thought that the person who posted the pictures of "The Winning Life" books…read moregave a pretty accurate description of what to expect when visiting the center as a newbie. Speaking as someone who decided to start practicing, I can say with 100% certainty that practicing correctly will renovate anyone's life. The SGI is an invaluable resource for support while doing this. Practicing doesn't make life easier. It just gives you the tools you need to overcome obstacles. One thing I would like to comment on is the remark that members "rise through the ranks." I can see how it might look that way from the outside, but that's not how it actually is. Since the SGI is a grassroots organization, leadership positions are appointed to and taken on by members. They're volunteers without any special privileges or benefits. The point of leaders is to support the members. The national women's division leader this year could be a regular non-titled (yet equally important) member next year. Everyone is equal and equally valued. That's kind of the point. I also say this because leaders in the SGI actually do a hell of a lot of work to support the organization and it can be extremely challenging. I've been a leader. It's a transformative battle. You do it because you want to make good causes for your life and community, not because you want to rank higher than other people. We all take on the responsibility of protecting that integrity when we join. At least, that's the way it should be based on all the studying I've done over the past decade or so.
