Located in Fishermen's Village it's a great place to get out of the Florida sun for a few minutes since it's air conditioned, shops like this one are somewhat amusing I guess, it's fill with gag gifts and reproductions of stuff from the past. The aisles are narrow and it looks like half the visitors at this "shopping" center were inside this store most just looking as were the employees here, I guess there are lots of "smalls" so theft could be an issue. Laff Out Loud has been in the Fisherman's Village for 20 years and it is owned by Fred and Robin Kraske. This store carries a lot of funny and unique items. I am in need of a couple of birthday gifts so I thought this store might have something I could get as a gag gifts. Some of the items they carry are funny face masks, signs, novelty bandages, and prank items like fake teeth, slimitizer hand sanitizer, and gag lotto tickets. They also have a lot fun board games I haven't seen before with unique twists on them like dog-opoly and Punta Gorda Opoly. Other items included socks, toys, puzzles, and a large selection of Funko Pop Vinyl's, (I liked the Dobby one and the Child from the Mandalorian). Unfortunately while I was shopping a young man who was working in the store started following me and it wasn't in a way like I am nearby if you need assistance. Every time I made a turn in the store he was popping out right behind me or next to me. It made me so uncomfortable I ended up just leaving without buying anything. It's too bad because no one else was in the store and it looks like they could use the business. read more

Was having a great time at Fishermans Villiage with family until we walked into laff out loud. I had a few items in hand for purchase and saw something that had caught my eye in a bottom shelf tote that was quite amusing. Not 3 seconds after I picked the item up, an employee came up to me and scolded me for looking at it and told me to put the item back because "those things are already out on the sales floor"... "geez, so sorry! It caught my eye.. was just seeing what it was" I replied. I didn't know the items in totes on the sales floor were not for sale! I put it back alright, along with all the other items I planned on buying. Then I got my family members from the other side of the store and we walked out empty handed and went to the chocolate shop instead. Happy to have given my money to them over laff out loud... as a year round resident, I'll never recommend them. read more

Me and my family of four were walking around this store. Something had caught our eye so my husband picked it up to check the price. He then proceeded to tell us the price and say once we have found things we wanted we will pay for them. As soon as he put the item back on the shelf one of the employees grabbed all of these items off the shelf and marks up the price by 25%. This was so blatant and ridiculous that we decided to just leave empty handed. read more

Literally just left there after putting back a funko pop for 34.99. The woman inside behind the counter told my mom to adjust her mask to her specifications, rudely tones no please no thank you. Mom said I have my mask on the way I can wear it. She then replied this is a private establishment I can tell you how I want you to wear it. We immediately put down our purchases and left fisherman's village. This was the biggest power trip I have ever seen and we won't be back. read more

So disappointed with the blatant disrespect and violation of the ADA in this store. Was just there with my family of five. Three of the five of us had our masks on as required. The other two have medical conditions that make it very difficult for them to wear masks. We were approached and told they must wear masks in the store. After trying to explain they couldn't wear them, we were told they had to leave if they couldn't wear them. This is exactly like telling someone who is handicapped that they can't enter with their devices. We went in ready to spend some money, and we left because they are completely ignorant to the ADA. The sign from The City of Punta Gorda is literally outside their door explaining the ADA exceptions. This was not about not wanting to wear a mask. It was about medical conditions of my child and my husband. I was told it was a "private establishment". That's fine if we were all refusing. But three out of the five were wearing them. We were obviously not against their rights as a private establishment. There was no one close to us either, so we were socially distancing as well. Truly shameful. read more

Not just silly stuff and toys, this store had some genuinely interesting puzzles, as well as other interesting goodies that would appeal to a grown-up audience, not just the kiddies. Surprisingly big stock (the store is actually kind of cramped), and not stuff I have seen everywhere. Worth a look as you walk through Fisherman's Village! read more

This place may seem cute on the outside but I will never ever return again, i was looking at name explanation plates and was told by a very rude employee not to take any photographs when i was simply sending a text message, let me clarify it said no where in the store that no photographs were allowed. I did not receive an apology therefore she lost a sale and a customer that will never return. read more

HORRIBLE WOMAN OWNS AND RUNS THIS STORE!! I tried to purchase $5 pickup sticks for my grandson, using a credit card. She ridiculed me, kept asking, 'don't you have a measely $5.34 in cash?' I said I didn't have any cash. She reluctantly took the credit card, saying she has a $5 limit and that I just made it. She embarassed me in front of her other customers and my friends. She said, 'now I made 50 cents less profit on that!" I told her she needed to change merchant account carriers. I left the store, but then returned asking for a refund. I explained she embarassed me, wrecked my birthday, and ruined any joy I would have had giving that toy to my grandson." She refused to issue a credit, but handed me cash, saying "now you cost me another 50 cents". And she said "HAVE A NICE DAY' very sarcastically. I wish this site had less than 1 star! There is no LOL at Laff Out Loud! She and her employee watch the customers like hawks, too, as if everyone is trying to steal things. read more
