The staff here was nice enough, with only a few employees and the store filled with customers it's like herding cats - there's a lot of inventory here and everyone wants to touch everything. I didn't see a sign stating "you break it you buy it" but if there's not one there should be. Walking the aisles here is like standing in a buffet line it's difficult to navigate this place and it seems like most customers are just looking so the most open spaces in this shop are around the cash registers. I didn't my find my refrigerator magnet I was looking for but there are plenty more shops to explore. I like to stroll the aisles like I'm running into a grocery store to get a loaf of bread, I'm not a window shopper and I definitely don't need to pick up and admire everything and comment on the prices. I always find cute things in this shop for Florida-themed gifts for friends and family. They have a big selection of Christmas ornaments, many different designs. I was waiting outside the shop once with my dog and the owner liked her so much she came out with a Christmas dishtowel for me, just because it reminded her of my dog! Very nice shop! Cute for souvenirs and a location me and my family like to visit, especially when I come down to Florida on vacations. They've got all kinds of cool things to look at. Lots of sharks teeth, fossils, jewelry, beads, children's toys and books, plushies, shirts and keychains. As far as my experience goes, the employees here have been nice. It's just a little trinket store, I don't expect luxury service, they're perfectly courteous for what their pay warrants. We got my little sister a cute llama plush here that she loves. Lots of customers are visiting regularly to browse and find unique, fun things to purchase. Would recommend stopping by, especially if you're a tourist. WOW! OK, if you collect anything, this place has something for you to add to your collection. It's HUGE! Seriously, any kind of collectible you can think of, they will have it; Spoons, shot glasses, shells, (tons and tons of shells) signs, wind chimes, thimbles, shark teeth, etc, etc. Not sure about the reviews stating that the employees are rude. The two ladies behind the counter were nice as pie to me. Yes there were plenty of signs stating, "DO NOT TOUCH. ASK FOR ASSISTANCE." But these were on some very fragile and expensive items. One was a $500 piece of coral. So I can understand them not wanting it handled. Children shouldn't be given free reign to run around a store unsupervised no matter what they are selling. read more

I stopped here to look for a shark tooth necklace for my boyfriend. I walked in at 5:25 and the ladies working there yelled that they were closing in 5 min. We felt rushed through the store and then the ladies turned the lights off. Finally we just left because we felt unwanted. The one lady had to unlock the door to let us out. I'm not sure why they were so pushy to get us out, we would have actually bought stuff if they let us stay in there. read more

During a torrential downpour and heavy winds the power went out while we were in the store. We were told we had to leave by an older female employee. She was very nasty about it. She told us it was the owners policy to kick people out of the store and into the storm. Oh did I mention I was with my 2 year old granddaughter and 3 month old grandson! Yes, she actually didn't care and stated it was the policy of the store so "no one would get hurt in the store". I protested, so we should take a tiny baby out into that weather!! You couldn't even see out the store front window the rain was coming down so hard. Finally she relented and said we had to stand by the front door (probably so she could watch us and make sure we weren't stealing anything). Wouldn't that be the more dangerous part of the store when trees and chairs were blowing down the street? I won't be frequenting that store again. If they have anything I would want in that store, I'm sure that I can find it elsewhere. I'd rather spend my time and money where people really appreciate my business. read more

The staff is so rude. We got caught there in a storm, it was pouring so hard that you would get soaked if you took one step out the door and high winds too. The electricity went out and the woman working there immediately told us we had to get out and that it was a hazard to have us in there. I was there with my newborn baby and my toddler and my elderly grandmother and they forced us out onto the street in a storm! I asked her isn't it more of a safety hazard to put us out on the street in a storm? She told me that I could just stand by the door (the whole store front is all glass so that really wasn't much safer) but I didn't fight her I just stood by the door and left when the rain settled down a bit. I was offended and annoyed that they treated customers like that and I will never go back there. read more

Today was Christmas in July our out of town friends won't arrive for awhile so this is meant to boost the economy, most stores participate. When checking out (spent $86 in early Christmas shopping) I asked the very sour employee if there was a discount for Christmas in July. Her response, "no we feel we are very reasonable". Oh so once a year you couldn't give a small discount to those of us who actually live here and shop in your shop ALL year? Well, I'll not shop there again! Rude staff and very over crowded (small aisles) and by the way over priced for some things! read more

I'm surprised this place is still in business! My grandmother used to take my sister and I here all the time, it was one of our favorite places. Now 20 years later, I'm an adult and planning on moving back to Florida and Trulia said it was a store nearby where I plan on moving to! I can't wait to return to Florida, and a city that holds so many incredible memories for me. So happy this store is still open, and giving other people memories, not just me. If you are in the area, I highly suggest stopping at Sea Treasures and Pleasures. Even if you're just on vacation, or a resident who has never been here. Very worth a visit. read more

Maybe it's the nostalgia, but I really enjoy visiting this establishment. It's basically a classic Florida beach gift shop still in full swing. Sea shells, sharks teeth, croc heads and more are all available for purchase. And there's plenty of charm and vintage Venice Ave style, with plenty of tacky postcards to boot! read more

I HATED this place. The employees are EXTREMELY rude and rolled their eyes at every child or noise that was made. A woman in front of me knocked over something accidentally and their faces were awful. It's a typical tourist kind of shop, but with signs that pretty much let u know if u or your child pick something up-your buying it! Thumbs down for this place. They are a dime a dozen and this one had rude employees AND too much junk that's easy to knock over. read more
