We reached out to Radioactive for a quote and the owner, Shaun, got back to us right away. We were given a day to make an appointment and an estimate for the work to be done. They were booking about 2 weeks out, which was fine for us. The night before our appointment, Shaun called me and confirmed that we were coming. The next day, we arrived and the car was quickly taken in. We decided to wait at the shop, as there is a small waiting area with about three chairs. We could see why they were booking out, people after people came in looking for parts and/or dropping off their cars. It took a little bit longer than expected, but we were totally fine with that. The results were fantastic and we couldn't be happier. Everything was run through the car and there are zero wires showing. They were able to hook it up straight to the battery with the fuses kit we purchased. Highly recommend the team at Radioactive for anything car audio related. Also found out they do tinting in both carbon and ceramic, remote starts, alarms, custom subwoofer enclosures, and custom LED lighting. And even better, they offer a lifetime warranty on installation labor and tinting.

I can't say enough good things about Volunteer Window Tinting! I called and spoke directly with…read moreDavid, the owner, who was incredibly helpful and accommodating. He quickly coordinated an appointment to tint my girlfriend's Highlander as a special birthday surprise. While we were there, I decided to add a windshield tint to my car (which had a brand-new windshield installed recently), and they knocked it out perfectly. His daughter Khloe at the front desk was an absolute pleasure to deal with--friendly, professional, and made the whole experience even better. I love supporting family-owned businesses like this one, and it really shows in their attention to detail and customer care. As a bonus, I picked up some BullSnot detailing sprays while I was there, and that stuff works amazingly well! The team did excellent work on both vehicles, and they had everything finished in under 2 hours. Highly recommended--if you're in Knoxville, this is the place to go for top-notch window tinting!

They gave me a quote of $255 for my mustang for 35% tint. I made the appt and showed up today. They…read moresaw some residue from detailing on the bottom of the back glass and also wanted to then remove the factory tint off the quarter windows and said it would be $60 more to tint my mustang. They claimed the residue was from a previous tint at the bottom of the back window, yet I told them the vehicle was never tinted. I just confirmed with the prior owner the car was never tinted and confirmed the residue is just from detailers cleaning the back window and it did wipe right off. When I got the quote I told them the quarter windows were tinted and I just requested the 2 door windows, back glass and strip on the front. Yet, today they said I had to do the quarter windows and they need to remove the factory tint and they kept claiming the residue from detailing was from a previous tint and I already confirmed there was never tint there. So from $255 they wanted to add $60, that's almost a 25% increase to do the job, plus when you swipe your card they want you to add a tip to the charge. So they go from a $255 quote to $215 plus tax and tip after I arrive. I declined and told them I would go elsewhere, I have already found another tint location that gave me an honest quote after looking at my mustang after I left this tint location. I would not recommend volunteer window tinting, they tried to add $60 to the quote and had no issue with me leaving. They lost a paying customer and they lost a tint job for the day, where instead their employees stood around making zero dollars instead of the $255 they would have for the original quote provided. Avoid this place, their dishonestly and adding additional charges for false claims proved they are not trustworthy. They work hard to sponsor posts on Facebook to gain new customers, obviously for a reason.

I requested while it was being checked, adding the back up camera. #2) I'll admit my faults, I left the locking wheel lug 'key' at home. I rescheduled for the next weekend. The tire needed to be removed for the camera. #3) Arrived was told the reason my phone disconnects from the radio, the cable isn't what came with my phone. I explained, the cable that came with my phone is USB C and the one in my car is not. But I'll pay for the upgrade / change. I was treated like I was ignorant. I was never told if the upgrade / change was even possible (now this radio hadn't been in my car a year at this point). He said he had a cable but it was too short. Then I was told the camera install would need holes drilled in my car because of the way it was made. I asked about other mounting locations, I was told it wouldn't line up. I asked about ordering the cable for the radio and was blown off. After leaving I'm dismissed tears, my other half called and was told it would be made right. The cable would be ordered (they were also that day suppose to check on a console install) the console would be looked at, they promised they would make it "RIGHT". I've never heard back and it's been over 3 months. So I'm dealing with a faulty stereo and no option for a camera. Almost $1,000 for nothing. Unhappy and I will never recommend or enter this store again. Run run fast and hard.

So just got my car back from them, had them install an alarm (from them), Apple CarPlay radio and…read morebackup camera. Along with the alarm I had them do a keyless entry for my door locks, so they also installed new actuators. It took a while (3 weeks) but they were having trouble with getting the actuators to work and its a 1985 Trans AM so this was fairly understandable (I'll get back to this). Its a custom type car and as such a little more difficult to deal with so they actually passed on installing my rear 6x9's eventually and I also understood. So the issues and why they are getting one star from me. I'll start with my missing sun visors and the fabric pulled away from my top (what remains from the head liner as it's a convertible). The fabric was pulled away from the roof and the visors were missing as stated, when I pointed it out the guy that I was dealing with went in the back and didn't find them, came out and told me so and stated he wouldn't have messed with the visors any how so I must be mistaken (The car is fairly new to me but I know I used the visors when I drove the car before dropping it off). Almost had me convinced I was crazy and yeah why would they be messing with my visor. So I drive the car home a bit frustrated but now have the working radio in my car, I ask Siri to change the song and she can't hear me, they were messing with the visors because they needed to install the external microphone which is also missing. I get home and do an inventory of what is still in the box (not the microphone) and find that they failed to install the engine lock relay with the alarm and I also have some additional wires that are not installed one is a fuse and one I'm not sure what it is but I am now concerned that nothing was installed properly. Returning to the actuators issue, they had me come in over the weekend (custom car and I had to show them how to open the trunk). While there the door panels were still off and the actuators were in fact struggling to work, I had the opportunity to reach in and feel the back of the locking mechanism after talking to the guy he sprayed some WD40 back there and they worked (at least on the passanger side while I was there) so obvious lubrication issue. Get the car back and they still dont work. For clarity purposes the guy I was taking to and about most of the time is the guy that stays up front, not the guy that was actually working on my car. Speaking about the front though, they almost never answer the phone, they use a text messaging system from some 602 area code but it must be web based as I have gotten service error messages from it, and the person that types the messages is vague and unclear (doesn't really answer) when answering. Over all, this is a very frustrating experience and not worth the money and time it took. I sent a text with the major issues and left a voice mail so will see how they respond. I will likely update this after.

About a month later we had the product and brought my car in to have it done. While there I asked what they would recommend to get some stickers off the car handles and they said they would do it. After handing out for hours, it was determined that it was going to take longer than they originally thought so we left the car. During that day there I had asked for an exact amount since they charge a surcharge percentage if you use a card and they refused to give me an amount. When I was told it was done I headed that way to pick it up and then they gave me a total that was twice the amount quoted PLUS they were charging me for removing the stickers AND for washing the car prior to putting the stripes on. When I got there I was shocked. That's actually an understatement. The stripes are taped in some areas, not adhered in others. The headlight film (which I provided enough to do headlights and tail lights) has been over heated and was bubbles. The paint around my windshield was peeling off in chunks. I spoke to who was supposedly the owner and he looked at it and seemed shocked as well. Told me it would get fixed. So I left it again. About two weeks later I had to pick it up because I needed it for a trip to go get my chemo which I get in Florida. It still wasn't fixed. The owner said he wasn't able to get the paint people to fix it during that time. He sat down with my husband and I and said that the windshield would have to be removed to paint it and would I consider having it wrapped instead. He showed me different colors of wrap and even some graphics and said they could do whatever I wanted and to look at examples and get back to him. So we looked at different examples and sent him a bunch of photos to give him examples of what I liked. He pretty much ghosted my husband and I with only an occasional answer. Then all of a sudden he wiped back offering to wrap it at half off. Which was not what was said originally. So at that point I said I wanted my paint fixed and again I was ghosted. Then he comes back with saying that the year and make of my car had issues with the paint around the windshield so they won't do anything at all. So now I'm left with a horrible stripe job, bubbled head lights and peeling paint which I tell everyone where it was done. My car paint was perfect when I dropped it off. It wasn't peeling or bubbles until they steam washed it. I was amazed that this was how this company treated me. It's far from over at this point.
