It's two stories, very tidy, nice staff, multiple meeting rooms, and cool displays of both historical figures and modern entertainment. Outside tables, vending machines, a coffee machine, and a microwave are available right outside of the library for the public to use. Also, there's a book donation bin there that collects used books, DVDs, CDs, and Vinyls every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 am to 1 pm which I used for my 2026 New Year cleaning. Overall, a great and diverse public library in the Metairie area!

The selection of books at this branch is very broad and if you are looking for something that isn't at this particular branch the helpful staff is willing to have the book sent over from another branch. Other than books there are several different things to do at the library. You can rent movies or tv series on DVD. There are computers avaliable for use as well as study rooms for students. Kids classes are avaliable at different times of the month and there is always a calendar to take home to keep track. Many activities for adults as well. The possibilities are endless!

I have always been a library person, I have fond memories of my local libraries in Southern California. When I first moved to old Gretna in 2005 I used the libraries there and after Katrina, I sought out the library here. It was initially located in a run down looking library not far from the new building now. I borrowed movies, borrowed books for me and my young son, attended their events and when they built a new library I followed them there. They have a wide selection of movies, a vast number of computers, a teen section and children's' area and computers for the young ones. The staff is great and it seems funny to realize that I have know them all for 7 years now. They have displayed art from local artists and had art competitions, there's a little area in the lobby that has books and mags for sale, the meeting room is a good size and can be booked for your needs ( i used this to recruit people for Census work :)) They have a new Librarian now, Jasmine...she rocks...not sure what happen to that other one she was kinda scary...told me once that if I ever walked off without paying for copies (i never actually took them I just forgot)...I wouldn't be allowed to use the computers again...really? ok...she's gone anyway....I love my library and will teach my young one to love it too.....when's the last time you went to the Library? Not only did they have the book, the wonderful librarians told me about the summer reading program - for adults and children, and about so many other programs available to New Orleans residents. There are chairs here and there, to sit and read.. they do have daily newspapers, too. The staff is super helpful, and friendly. The one issue I have isn't specific to this branch. The Jefferson Parish website is difficult to plow through. I can't go to a tab "best selling books 2016", or "Oscar nominated movies 2021". Needs work to be user friendly.

This review and 5 star rating is my experience participating in the "Who Dun It?" Book Club. As the name implies the "Who Dun It?" Book Club is a murder mystery book club. We meet once a month (virtually) to discuss the selected book. It's hosted by the clever, funny, and calm- natured librarian, Shelby. I joined the book club in May 2021 to accomplish two goals 1) Read more 2) Meet new people. The "Who Dun It?" Book Club accomplishes both and so much more. Murder mystery is a new genre for me however the books selected have been interesting and the meetings attendees are fun, articulate, and well- read women and men with unique opinions. Intellectual, adult conversations for the WIN! I look forward to meeting with this group as we share our critiques of the selected reading and author. New members are always welcome! For #ThankYouThursday, I have to write a stellar review for the library. This is the library I use…read moremost often, and I love having its presence here in the neighborhood. Pre-COVID and during COVID, I could always rely on the library (and this branch) as a place to go to discover books and indulge my love for reading. They have a great selection of reading material, plenty of computers to use, and an incredibly pleasant and helpful staff. There are so many things to appreciate at the library from their cool programming (book clubs, crafting, etc.) to the free resources (webinars, books, audiobooks, magazines, etc.) to the physical space that is welcome and free for all to use! I've found my love for reading again during quarantine, and I've used the library to rent E-books and online magazines. I just checked out a physical book and had to call to set up a pickup time and the person on the phone was lovely and helped me set it up and answered questions. They keep expanding their options for everyone to use the library during COVID. Libraries are essential to our society and I have to thank them for so much! #ThankYouThursday
