We made bracelets, there was a dyi nail bar with all the colors and cute stickers. You could adopt a dog with the fees waived. There was also a cute photo prop area. It's two stories, very tidy, nice staff, multiple meeting rooms, and cool displays of both historical figures and modern entertainment. Outside tables, vending machines, a coffee machine, and a microwave are available right outside of the library for the public to use. Also, there's a book donation bin there that collects used books, DVDs, CDs, and Vinyls every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 am to 1 pm which I used for my 2026 New Year cleaning. Overall, a great and diverse public library in the Metairie area!

Most recently, I came here for a meeting, and we used the back room. This was a great space for a meeting. It was a medium sized room, but there were tons of chairs and even a spot of food to be. I really liked how you had to walk through the library to get to it... it felt like you were apart of the library instead of feeling isolated off to the side. Another I love about this library is the safety and convince. At the doors there are security like pillars and you can even drop off your books at the slot outside. This location is very convenient for me because I live close to the area. I like how it isn't too big, like the main location, but it is easier to locate what exactly you are looking for. Love this library!

Now with the age of the Internet, I have to be honest, it is not often I visit a library. So, again it was nostalgic experience. This library is huge and I love their kids section! Yes, we will be visiting more often. I like the thought of "renting" books because it's nice to not to have to always buy them. My daughter was so excited to see so many books and it was funny to hear her say "can we buy this book"? Throughout the year, they have live performances - dances, plays, storytimes, etc. For adults, there are quiet places to read and mellow out. Will I be visiting the library more now? Of course, I will, now that I'll be living a bit closer to one.

I have always been a library person, I have fond memories of my local libraries in Southern California. When I first moved to old Gretna in 2005 I used the libraries there and after Katrina, I sought out the library here. It was initially located in a run down looking library not far from the new building now. I borrowed movies, borrowed books for me and my young son, attended their events and when they built a new library I followed them there. They have a wide selection of movies, a vast number of computers, a teen section and children's' area and computers for the young ones. The staff is great and it seems funny to realize that I have know them all for 7 years now. They have displayed art from local artists and had art competitions, there's a little area in the lobby that has books and mags for sale, the meeting room is a good size and can be booked for your needs ( i used this to recruit people for Census work :)) They have a new Librarian now, Jasmine...she rocks...not sure what happen to that other one she was kinda scary...told me once that if I ever walked off without paying for copies (i never actually took them I just forgot)...I wouldn't be allowed to use the computers again...really? ok...she's gone anyway....I love my library and will teach my young one to love it too.....when's the last time you went to the Library? I think i hear it calling your name......
