Someone recommended this place...I was so excited to try it…read more I scheduled appt for acrylics yesterday on their website but unfortunately my car started me to give problems yesterday and I had my brother in law trying to fix..so long story short : I unfortunately couldn't go to my appt but before all this I was thinking I would be able to go so I did reschedule and cancel multiple times...online I ended up not being able to go but I canceled!!!!! So I finally had my car at mechanic today and I was ready to go to the salon with my husband's car tomorrow, I tried to make an appt and I couldn't... basically i found out I'm " banned" for life from that place I've never been to just because I dared to cancel the appt on their website! Look at their reply to me( at the print screen pic)..it's almost laughable..so absurd. So noup. Not professional, their reply to me was a bit absurd...specially because they do offer the cancelation online!!!!no I don't get it and I don't understand how a business refuse to provide service to someone just because they canceled on the previous day due to emergency even though I explained to them... OH well.. NOT MY LOSS...I'll be spending my money at another salon tomorrow where they can treat me fairly. This clearly has 0 customer service skills.

I'm an elementary school teacher and a rock climber, so short nails aren't just a preference--they're what works for my lifestyle. Despite explaining this several times, I felt like I was continually being talked out of the length I wanted because the technician believed longer nails would look better. The shaping process was also frustrating. When I asked whether my existing shape was considered round or square, I never really got an answer. Since I was happy with the shape I already had, I was simply trying to communicate that I wanted to keep it the same. Instead, the conversation kept circling back to questions that left me feeling more confused than guided. The biggest concern was during clipping. Several times the clippers pinched the skin beneath my nails. When I mentioned it, the technician seemed to focus on the tool itself rather than adjusting the angle or technique. It was uncomfortable and not something I've experienced during professional nail services elsewhere. I had also hoped to add a simple nail art design. I brought photos for reference, and while the staff was polite, they seemed uncertain throughout the process. I expected more confidence and guidance. At other salons, technicians will look at inspiration photos and offer suggestions about colors, shapes, or design options. Here, I felt like I was repeatedly being asked to make decisions that I was hoping the professionals would help me navigate. The finished nails were uneven, my cuticles still looked rough, and unfortunately the gel chipped within about a week. My natural nails also felt weaker afterward rather than stronger. What stands out most is that I never felt heard. Good nail technicians don't just perform a service--they listen carefully, help translate inspiration photos into a realistic result, and confidently guide clients through the process. That's the experience I was hoping for. I genuinely think the people here are kind, and this review isn't meant to be harsh. It's feedback from someone who wanted the visit to go well and has had much stronger experiences elsewhere. With more attention to listening to client preferences, consistency in shaping and prep work, and greater confidence when discussing nail art options, I think Sandy Nails could provide a much better overall experience.

One thing I especially appreciated was how understanding the staff was when one of my nieces decided she no longer wanted any nail services. They were incredibly patient and didn't make it an issue at all, which I thought was very thoughtful and kind. Unfortunately, we did have one issue with an older technician. While doing my daughter's nails, she was a little rough, and when my daughter said, "Ouch," the technician responded by saying, "It did not hurt," instead of being more gentle or reassuring. She didn't seem very comfortable working with young children, and I think she'd be better suited to adult clients. The biggest concern came when she asked if I wanted gel polish on my daughter's nails. I clearly said no because my daughter is only six years old. I was sitting beside my daughter during the pedicure, and regular polish was used on her toes. However, while I briefly stepped away to check on one of my nieces, the technician applied gel polish to my daughter's fingernails anyway, despite my clear instructions. I spoke with the gentleman at the front desk, and he handled the situation professionally. He apologized, spoke with the technician, and removed the gel polish charge from my bill, which I appreciated. However, I still have to take my daughter somewhere to have the gel removed properly, which is inconvenient. It also made for a slightly uncomfortable conversation while the situation was being addressed. Aside from that one experience, everyone else we interacted with was wonderful. The staff was friendly, the salon was clean, and they did a great job making the girls feel welcome. With better attention to parents' requests and a more child-friendly approach from that one technician, this would have been an excellent visit.
