After moving to the west coast, I've missed the food on the east coast/South so much! I went on a…read morework dinner while in town for training and this was the perfect first place to stop and grab food during my trip! Since it was a Monday night I was not expecting the restaurant to be busy and it wasn't. Plenty of open parking, no wait at all, and quick to be served. I ordered the smoked brisket which came on top of burnt end hash, collard greens, and topped with a bbq sauce/gravy. The brisket was so tender and a really thick cut. I typically like leaner cuts of meat and the meat was perfect, not too much fat. The sauce also complimented really nicely. The burnt end hash was also really good. The potatoes were tender and soaked up some of the juices from the greens and sauce. The greens were cooked perfectly. Not too soft and still had some crunch to them. They had a lot of flavor and had a touch of sweetness. I would get a bowl of them to eat on its own for sure. My coworker got the pork chop with mashed sweet potatoes and green beans which she said was really good. Her plate was vibrant in color from the vegetables and the pork chop looked well prepared. For dessert we shared the banana bread pudding with strawberry ice cream. The bread budding came out warm which was perfect to go with the ice cream which tasted homemade. I'm a sucker for anything strawberry though. The bread pudding had slices of banana throughout and held together well when eaten with the ice cream. Service throughout the evening was good. We were checked on and brought refills without having to flag down the waiter. Overall it was a great experience. I know I'll be back to RDU at some point so I'll be sure to come back.

Then its the whole bit about sending it back and the awesome movie "Waiting", so you get extra sauce, lol. Or conversely, you order lower than you wanted to and it walks onto your plate. This was a perfect medium rare, no extra sauce needed. Felt like I wanted the FF instead of chips, so I got them with a side of ranch and hot buffalo (my dealio). The fries were hot and Crispy, and everything on my end was good. The only negative was that they were out of my favorite draft, "Maine Lunch", but it is very popular, and used to be only found in Maine or Massachusetts, so that's a pass. My mate got the crab cakes which looked good, and I had a little bite, and pretty tasty for being out of the Chesapeake area. The place is always clean and comfortable, not to light, not too dark. Sat at the bar which has plenty of bar tables as well, so it works if you dart in for lunch, which gets pretty busy for a party of over 2. The staff and management always greet you and seem pretty happy. They check back often, which is a requisite for me. Nice lunch.

Very friendly and made our experience worthwhile. When they were out of the cucumber for my drink she adequately notified me of the additional wait time and was very understanding of me canceling the drink and single handily made me want to return to the goat. Give this girl a raise tbh bc this was the best dining I've had in a while!

I met a friend who had meetings on World Trade Boulevard near RDU. I suggested The Goat based on…read moreYelp reviews and because it was convenient to her meetings and Interstate 40 since she lives in the Charlotte area and was driving home that evening. Vickie was already there when I arrived and had ordered the Queso Skillet. It was a great way to start the meal. The sausage gave it a nice flavor and paired well with the queso. Although The Goat has a full bar, we both opted for soft drinks. I had a club soda with cranberry juice, which was mixed well and refreshing. After enjoying the sausage in the Queso Skillet, I ordered the Nonna Tavern Pizza with Italian sausage, caramelized onions, banana peppers, and basil marinara. Whatever blend of cheeses was used, the pizza was delicious. I also had a side house salad with apple vinaigrette, which was very tasty. Vickie ordered the grilled salmon and said it was quite good. The service was very good, and the space has a modern industrial tavern feel with upscale farmhouse and brewery-inspired design elements. It feels casual and comfortable while being more polished than a typical sports bar. One feature that sets The Goat apart is its coffee-and-breakfast concept. The coffee, breakfast, and work area is separated from the main restaurant and resembles the kind of modern, uncluttered coffeehouse you might find in a contemporary hotel or airport lounge. It creates a welcoming space for morning coffee, breakfast, or remote work before the lunch and dinner crowds arrive. After my visit, I learned that The Goat is operated by LC Hospitality, an Ohio-based company that has expanded the concept to several states. The Brier Creek location is one of multiple Goat locations, giving it the feel of a locally focused establishment while benefiting from a larger hospitality organization. Overall, this was a good experience. The food was enjoyable, the atmosphere was inviting, and the prices were reasonable. The combination of restaurant, tavern, coffeehouse, and social gathering space makes for a unique dining environment in the Brier Creek area.
