We love this place! Great meat and cheese. You can get everything from wine and beer to high end cocktails in a place that marries style with the warmth of a hometown bar.

A quaint little cocktail bar just north of the courthouse circle in Pittsboro. Friendly and attentive staff. A tapas like food selection with different food specials a couple of days. I had a big lunch so l only snacked on the very good hummus. However, everyone else in my party enjoyed their flavorful looking dishes.

A great addition to downtown pittsboro! Love the low key vibe! The drinks were great and loved the snacks too! We will be back next time we can get away for a date night!

The Beagle is absolutely my go-to spot in Pittsboro! My husband and I try to get there at least once a week to enjoy a fabulous cheese plate and a couple of interesting cocktails, to unwind from a hectic week. There are so many things I love about The Beagle. First, the quality of their food is top notch. Everything from the oysters, to the deviled eggs, to the cheese plates, to the brunch offering has been just excellent. They do not have an expansive menu, but they take great care to make sure that everything they prepare is delicious and beautifully plated. The cocktails are both creative and aspirational. Each one offers a creative twist on a classic cocktail or drink trope, and I have enjoyed expanding my knowledge of craft cocktails through their creative offerings. In addition to their seasonal cocktail menu, they regularly create event-related cocktail menus to highlight holidays or events, and it is always a treat to check out these short term options as well. The location is cozy and charming, and I regularly refer to The Beagle as my corner speakeasy, although I do not think that term really applies. It is just such an inviting nook right in the heart of downtown Pittsboro. Finally, the owners and staff are just the nicest people. No matter how busy it is inside, the owner always takes a minute to come over and chat for a bit, and we are always appreciative.

We went to The Beagle for dinner and I ordered a Cosmo with "lots of lime." It was the BEST Cosmo I have ever had.

The…read morerestaurant is in an old mill and has unique brickwork and exposed beams to really set a fun experience. They have a piano player playing quietly to really create a lovely atmosphere for a quiet dinner where you can talk with your company. The menu is à la carte. The worst thing is deciding what to eat because you want to order everything on the menu. We had a group of 4 and we all ordered different entrees. We started with a bottle of wine but their cocktail list looked amazing and I will try that next time. The bottle we ordered was on the dry side but ended up complimenting our meal very well. I ordered the beef tenderloin with mashed potatoes and mushrooms and it was excellent. Perfectly tender. My table also ordered stuffed scallops, the ribeye, and the halibut. I wish I had taken a picture of the menu because the sauces served with each meal really brought out the flavors. The dessert menu was also excellent. They offered a gluten free apple streusel and it was so great to have a dessert.

While rustic, The Sycamore feels very upscale. Service was excellent! We were warmly greeted by the hostess and our server was engaging. She provided excellent recommendations for us. Drinks from the bar were deliciously crafted. The sides are sized for the table and I highly recommend the Mac N Cheese. We had the Winter Mushroom Ravioli, Butter-Poached Lobster, and the Grilled Bistro Filet. All three were perfect. Our dinner was completed with their impeccable Spiced Sweet Potato Cake. The Sycamore is a terrific choice for a fine dinner to celebrate a special occasion, for a date, or just to have a nice experience with friends. I'd love to take advantage of the Lounge which can be reserved for private gatherings. Definitely put The Sycamore at Chatham Mills on your short list...and move it to the top.

Both share the same kitchen. The last few times I have been here strolling around Pittsboro the service has been great. I did go to the larger area where bands play. The attendants were friendly and pleasant. The order came in a timely matter. The food was great and drinks were inexpensive. So having dinner, drinks (10) not all mine. They were of the alcoholic variety. Oh yes an appetizer also cost a bit less than a C note. Not bad don't you say. The decor is very cool here. Carved statues that are for sale. I will come back. They always have great entertainment there.

We ordered the supreme pizza, and when it arrived, it looked and tasted completely undercooked, doughy crust, barely melted cheese, and sad toppings. The vegetables were just large, unappetizing chunks of bell pepper and onion, with canned mushrooms and cheap-tasting meat that reminded us of Domino's (not in a good way). Even the cheese left that same powdery aftertaste definitely not fresh mozzarella. The supposed wood-fired crust had no char, no crisp, nothing to suggest a proper wood-fired oven was used, or if it was, they clearly don't know how to use it. We sat outside by the band hoping for a pleasant atmosphere, but it was anything but. Despite multiple "No Smoking" signs, there were people smoking all around the patio, and staff did nothing about it. If a restaurant can't enforce basic rules, it raises questions about the standards they hold in the kitchen as well. At this point, we're done giving second chances. It's time to move aside and let a real restaurant take over the space

Our first high tea experience was elegant, satiating, and gorgeous! We were nervous the small portions may not be enough, but we were full and able to take leftovers. The good: beautiful space, excellent Harney & Sons tea, and outstanding scones. Unfortunately, that's where the highlights end. The milk bread used for all the sandwiches was dense, dry, and hard to swallow, which wiped out an entire tier of the service. No one came to check on us, so we had no chance to raise our concerns. A booked baby shower in the same room completely killed the ambiance, and despite noting a special birthday at reservation, it went entirely unacknowledged. Beautiful bones, but the execution made my birthday memorable for all the wrong reasons.

Until a friend's meetup group scheduled an afternoon "let's have cocktails all afternoon" Friday. Yup, count me in! I got there right at the appointed time, and the early birds were already halfway into their wine. There is a large patio area outside with chairs and tables in small groups. A sunshade and some nicely placed trees help a little There are a few 2- and 4-tops scattered around as you enter. To the left is a large square bar that projects into the room. Behind it is a veritable library of liquors, towering to the ceiling, which is about 9-10 feet high. Seeing the bartender climb up the sliding ladder and fetch a spirit was part of the show. Further to the left are two seating areas with round tables. We had one of these. The Cabernet proved to be the darling of the group (I think we had three bottles and a few extra glasses, but no one was counting! There were eight of us, so don't think we're a bunch of drunks!) I had looked over the menu online and started with the "Up in Flames". It's a Tiki drink, served with a squeezed lime shell garnish that has a sugar cube and some kind of liquor in it. The waiter lights it while still on the tray, and then sprinkles in cinnamon, which sparkles into the drink. He then extinguishes the flame and serves it. It was quite a show and very delicious! If I ever go and sit outside, I'm going to film it! After a bit, we were getting hungry, so food started appearing. The fig & prosciutto flatbread arrived first, (with a single plate and napkin). It was a 12" x 6" flatbread spread with honey, figs, prosciutto, chèvre, and arugula. Another of these came out later. Quite delicious. Someone else had the nachos, which they said were amazing. After asking, the server brought out more plates and napkins. Other cocktails that we tried and enjoyed were the Perro Perdito (Lost Dog) and the Drastic Measures. The Mango-chili shrub in this one packed a bit more heat than the Jalapeño dip! But it was tasty, with the salt/tajin half-rim. After a few hours of fun food and drink and a lot of laughter, we decided to release our hold on the table. The dinner crowd was champing at the bit to take over, and we were pretty sated. Everyone was safe to drive, so we hugged all around and parted ways, well fed and better friends. Thanks, N&S. You may drag me back to Apex again any time!!
