    Black Pepper Beef Lunch
    Evangelina W.

The service at G.58 was exceptional even during lunch service. Particularly appreciated our server, Gabrielle, as she provided recommendations, was attentive, and friendly. Out of all the dishes the seasonal glass noodle dish was the best with the most flavor and aroma. The black pepper beef was not traditional in flavor but was good in quality. The fish dish was a little salty. The duck spring rolls were solid. The duck soup was special off the menu order but the portion was not worth the price. Overall it was a great experience and I loved going during the lunch service to experience the natural light and color of the restaurant. The design of the restaurant and interior details were well executed and made the meal very relaxing.

My husband has been wanting to try G.58 so I took him for his birthday dinner. We went for an early dinner and there were several family with children as well as couples like us. There were so many things we wanted to try and our server ended up helping us narrow down our list. We got the lobster fried wontons, salt and pepper calamari, glass noodles clay pot, kung pao Chilean sea bass, and screw pepper pork belly. My favorite dish was the glass noodle clay pot. It had a lot of seafood but wasn't too heavy. The sea bass was a close second.they give plenty of food so me and husband definitely over ordered lol but we had plenty of leftovers.

My family ventured over to Cary this past weekend to try G.58. The decor inside is upscale and modern, but fun, from wooden structural light fixtures to little army men climbing up a wooden wall at the entrance. We were worried it would be a bit too upscale to bring our 1 year old daughter, and they didn't notify us they don't have high chairs, but this allowed us to come prepared. The staff was incredibly accommodating and our daughter had a wonderful time. We started off with the lobster fried wontons and duck spring rolls. The lobster wontons surprised me - I expected a mousse inside, but was pleasantly surprised when I bit into a juicy lobster tail. The spring rolls were pretty classic but with a peppery punch, perfectly crunchy and delicious. For entrees, we split the glass noodle clay pot and lantern pepper short ribs. The short ribs were cooked incredibly well, however there was a really strong clove flavor that slightly overtook the dish. The glass noodle clay pot was a big hit, especially with my daughter. The noodles had that classic soy and sesame flavor, and all the seafood was seasoned and cooked nicely. What a great spot for modern Chinese cuisine! We loved the twists on classic Chinese dishes, and can't wait to come back to try their desserts next time. *Lobster Fried Wontons *Peking Duck Spring Rolls *Glass Noodle Clay Pot: Vermicelli, bean sprout, squid, shrimp, Korean cabbage, pepper *Lantern Pepper Short Ribs: thin sliced beef short rib, lantern chili, fresh Szechuan peppercorn, scallion

Randomly came across this place while looking for food near our hotel. This was the upscale, delicious choice that we didn't know we needed! Food came out so fast, maybe in like 10 mins?! I ordered the Szechuan pan seared steak and was amazed by the flavor profile. They used green peppercorn that added the perfect amount of tingling spice. My husband ordered the scallion dancing lamb, which came out sizzling. I don't usually like lamb, but the taste was undeniably good! Wagyu fried rice was also 10/10. If I lived here, this would be a great place to come again and again to celebrate any big milestone!

Such a fun dining experience, the two dishes that were the most memorable to us were the dancing lamb and the cauliflower! The service was great, we had Marissa, she was very attentive and aware of allergies and even remembered our names and made our friends birthday experience truly special!

This was my first time going here and I will be back! We went for our anniversary and they definitely made us feel special. We had their soup dumplings, lamb and broccolini, bamboo shoots and pork, sea scallops. Whew was all of it so so good ! They surprised us with a little treat for our anniversary but I also got their molten chocolate cake that was perfect!

After driving a little over 4hrs from DC to Raleigh, we wanted to grab a bite before checking into our hotel. The casual dining spot that we targeted on Yelp wasn't open yet (no, I didn't notice the time) rookie Yelper mistake.. Smh! That said, we drove around the parking lot and stumbled across this gem! I told the GF before entering that I see linen table cloths which is a tale sign that this ain't Friday's we walking into.. Lol! Still in our travel attire, we could possibly be turned away!! The lovely host was nice and politely informed us that it's usually a reservation only establishment but would make a concession since we were out of towners.. Dope!! We definitely crashed the business lunch party because the rest of the patrons looked the part.. Oh well.. Lol This was Asian Fusion dining at its finest. We didn't order a lot but what we did have was excellent. My Pineapple shrimp and her Waygu fried rice were amazing. The shrimp spring rolls were just as good for a starter. Without me knowing, the GF let them know I was celebrating a bday and their response was "Say Less"! To my complete surprise I was presented with a b'day treat when we probably had no business in here with my shorts and her sweat pants on.. Lol!! Thank you G. 58 for a wonderful lunch date and we will ALWAYS return when we travel to Raleigh, but we'll be appropriately dressed.. Lol!!

G.58 Cuisine was a recommendation but a chance encounter for my significant other and I. On his birthday getaway our North Carolina foodie talents started here. Service was impeccable, from the host to the waitress. Nothing was amiss. This is an upscale restaurant, linen down! It's giving little pinky finger up vibes. Definitely dress up. Let's get into it! Drinks - Delicious Wagyu/Shrimp Fried Rice - Perfection Red Velvet Cupcake - Heavenly If you're in the area stop and try! They do not disappoint.

My parents took me out for lunch here for my birthday since my favorite dish is Peking duck. They don't allow you to order 1/2 duck so you have to get a full one, and it's quite pricey ($95). Normally at a restaurant a full duck will yield a couple plates of meat but here you get just a small plate, not sure where the rest of the meat goes. Taste wise, the duck was good, but maybe a bit overcooked because it was kind of dry. Ambiance of the restaurant is very nice and upscale, seems popular for business meetings. The servers are attentive and well-mannered as you would expect from a nice restaurant like this.

I'm such a big fan of G.58! Best place to savor Chinese food in the RTP area; the service is also attentive and the restaurant feels classy. The last picture was actually taken during dinner on a separate day, but of course the dishes and service were both fabulous that time as well. The owner also chatted with our family and made us feel very welcome. Be sure to leave room for their awesome desserts!

Do they take reservations or it is recommended to make one? Also do they offer anything special for birthdays? I'm planning a dinner date night for my husband's birthday in week. Thank you in advance!

We made a reservation. I would advise doing so. The service was excellent so I can't imagine that they would refuse your request for a set up for a birthday celebration. Food was good except for the Peking Duck, nor prepared in traditional Cantonese…

Does the restaurant have high chairs?

They do but they don't welcome babies or children. Our children were deemed 'unruly' which they were not and we were asked to leave when we were there to celebrate my younger daughter's first birthday!…

The Chicken & Waffles was my favorite! The chicken was nice and crispy and the waffle was a sweet corn waffle. The Peck and Plume Bowl was my least favorite dish but that's only because it was VERY tart and I wasn't expecting that. It has passion fruit, banana, blueberries, yogurt, granola, coconut flakes, and bee pollen. We also got the Eggs Benedict which came with country ham and wilted spinach on top. I'm on a quest to find the best Dirty Martini in the area and this is in contention. I ordered the burger and my husband got the shrimp and grits. We'd say they were "fine". Neither the meat nor shrimp were seasoned. That said they were cooked well. The grits were well done and the relish was on target. The fries were also fantastic. Overall, it was a good experience sitting on the beautiful patio with music coming into the space from the park. With a few tweaks this could get a better rating.

Simply put, everything we ordered was a home run. The soup - Wonton - was splendid. The broth had far more kick, far more substance, far more taste than the stuff we've managed to get at other local restaurants - and more clearly matched what I've eaten in Chinese restaurants throughout Southeast Asia . . . and, of course, in my few trips to Beijing. The egg rolls immediately made me think of this little hole-in-the-wall take-out Chinese joint in Brooklyn that I recall . . . from fifty years ago. The place was situated on the corner of Bay Parkway and 86th street, right at the point where the elevated track for the B train was located - and immediately became my father's first stop as he descended the station's stairs at the end of his workday, leading right to the front door of that cookery. He always ordered an egg roll or two, ate one standing in the entryway to the cook shop, and brought several home. Those Szechuan Garden egg rolls immediately, for me, resonated with the vigorous, deep taste of those Brooklyn delectables. We had a simple fish dinner with white rice, and an eggplant cooked deeply and wrapped in a thin dough covering - never had eggplant that way before and it was, again, a home run. The fish was so very simple, so very tasty - unforgettable. Thankfully, we have enough leftovers to make for another great meal today. We now have a new favorite restaurant near our home in Durham.
