When we first bought this tub X-12, we have nothing but trouble. Unlike other good quality tubs, it does not come with a breaker box - so you have to buy one ($50 - $100). They told my wife how to replace 2 motors, repair two leaky plumbing fittings, 2 LED lights, and one control panel...in the first 6 months! The cover failed in the first year (sagged and started leaking). The LED lights are still sketchy after 3 or 4 years. When you drain and fill the tub, they re-set and work...until you shut them off; then you have to wait till it's time to clean it again. The speakers are under water with more than one person in the tub and the water is at the correct water depth. As others have stated, the "service" department at this company is a total oxy-moron. They send parts for you to service their crappy equipment. If you are pissed enough, they throw in some chemicals or a free filter for your hard work. The ONLY reason this rating is a 2 and not a 1 is the sales team here in Charlotte. John and Olga are top notch and a 4 rating in my book. I bought this hot tub because of the amount of jets it had and because it was advertised as a 6 person hot tub. For starters 6 was probably meant for 6 kids, not 6 adults. If you get 4 adults in there, you better make sure you know everyone because its going to be a very intimate experience. The tub itself looks very nice, but let me share with you a detailed description of why this tub and company is J-U-N-K! To start Home and Garden Spa = Laguna Bay Spas (same company different name) 6 Person 81 Jet Spa = X6 Spa (name Laguna Bay uses on their company website) I bought this spa on 4/13/14. It arrived on 4/30/14, but I had an issue with my patio being completed before I could even install it and plug it in. On 7/2/14 we got the patio done and we finally were able to turn on the hot tub for the first time. (Which stunk because the warranty starts the day the tub arrives) The hot tub worked great until 7/20/14 when we first started getting heater problems (error codes on the control panel) I called Laguna Bay and told them about my heater errors. I spoke to Billy (there are only 2 or 3 people in that office) he told me they had a known history of bad heaters, and that he would send me a new one and cover the labor for the installation. Ok great...I thought. No problem. He sent me another heater which I had installed on 8/6/14. (I was not there during the install because the installer came while I was at work so I could not inspect the malfunctioning heater) Hot tub was back and running and worked great....for a few weeks. On 9/7/14 we saw that again we were having the same heater issues. I once again call Laguna Bay and explain to them the same issue I had before. Billy tells me to take pictures of my electrical wiring and email it to him. I do so. Billy tells me that I don't have it wired together correctly, and that he is surprised it is even running with that wiring setup. I have Billy speak to my electrician and Billy threatens to void my warranty if its not done how the manual instructs the wiring to be done. We say fine, we change the entire setup and the wiring is now to their liking and specifications. Now we try to turn on the hot tub and it immediately trips the breaker. We UNPLUG 3 connectivity wires on the "Made in China" heater that is connected to the "brain" of the hot tub and the tub turns on but does not heat. So I call Laguna Spa back and talk to Billy again and tell him that this is going on. He sends me a new heater (which he claimed was a more "beefed up" version- no idea what even means) which arrives on 9/29/14. I have the new heater installed on 10/8/14. Upon inspecting the malfunctioning heater we removed, we found there was water inside the electrical element of the heater (which caused the sudden tripping). The water was inside an area where electrical wiring and circuit boards were suppose to be waterfree. I have been emailing with Laguna Bay Spas for weeks now trying to get them to reimburse the labor involved, but they say my 90 day warranty has expired. My response is that they have been sending me bad heaters and never solved the problem the original problem that was happening while I was under their 90 day labor warranty. Think of it this way. You buy a brand new Honda car with a 50,000 mile warranty. On the 35,000 mile your transmission blows (Honda tells you they knew about their bad transmissions and will repair it on their dime because you are under warranty) You get it repaired. On 50,200 mile your transmission blows again. You take it in to get repaired and you find out that it was the same issue as before, but now you have to pay for the labor to get it repaired. The ORIGINAL problem was still the MANUFACTURER'S MISTAKE!! Now I am responsible for paying my electrician (who revamped the entire system for no reason) and hot tub repair man because Laguna Bay Spas (aka Home and Garden) can not make something as simple as a heater that doesn't let water inside!!? Originally they said they would work with me to resolve the problem once and for all, they dragged their feet and now once my 90 day labor warranty expired they are holding me responsible for paying to fix a problem that LAGUNA BAY SPA KNEW ABOUT FOR MONTHS! I am sure LAGUNA BAY will reply to this review stating that my electrical was done wrong and they are constantly referring to that whenever I am trying to get answers from them, but the fact is there are a number of ways you can wire something - at the end of the day the wiring was not what was causing the problem it was WATER leaking into their heater's electrical compartment. Love, love, love our Laguna Bay Spa. We purchased it about a month ago and we are extremely happy with our X6 model. After purchasing our spa but before delivery I read a previous negative review from some folks in Tennessee. Luckily I didn't cancel my order. We dealt with Unique Pools, Spas and Billiards in Orlando. They helped us by giving us help with what we needed to "prep" the area- a good spot, electrical requirements etc. The spa was delivered promptly in great condition, they were very careful with the installation and gave us adequate instruction on how to operate it and use of the chemicals, we also received a DVD with the manual on it. The next morning the electrician arrived and installed the GFCI breaker and wired the spa itself. We filled it (filling took just over 1 hour) as he worked so we could test it. This X6 model has 2 pumps. 81 well placed jets , heater, a waterfall effect, lights and a audio hookup that connects to MP3 players or smart phones via a microphone jack. Every part works flawlessly! We have used it everyday, sometimes twice a day. The first weekend friends joined us and everyone commented on how well the adjustable jets work , how strong the pumps are and how beautiful it is. The water is crystal clear and the chemical readings have been easy to maintain. So if you are considering a Laguna Spa I would highly recommend the X6 model. You will love it! read more

Do NOT buy from this company!!! My husband and I purchased a Hot Tub/ Spa from Laguna Bay Spas (also selling as Home and Garden spas and Leisure products spas) after doing significant research. We found the product we wanted and liked, able to choose external cabinet and internal surface colors and the exact spa customized. The sales person counseled and answered all our questions. Unfortunately, there are industry standards for such a product, in that there are standard expectations one doesn't even think to ask. For instance, how powerful are the jets? or - how smooth is the seating surface? - does it have a terrible odor of plastic one cannot get rid of? Is there even an access panel? Etc. Those are things we either didn't ask or were told it was standard. The spa we have is anything but industry standard. Our jets have absolutely no power. The spa has no access panel. Our two speed pump has two speeds - on and off! And on runs half the tub - good luck trying to have a spa that actually has jet massage. Too bad, it is a beautiful spa, if you don't mind the internal surface having dents and div-its. And if you don't mind the horrible smell of plastic. And if you don't mind that the internal pipes are so dirty that we had to drain the spa after one week (when we actually drained because the water stunk so much of plastic, then found out the filter was completely filled with mud). I guess we should have guessed when the cover arrived and was so flimsy the next wind will take it away, or that the cover lifter arrived with rust and gouged pipes in a soaked box with the instruction sheet pretty much dissolved. To our dismay, the customer service is even worse. At one point the technician was on the phone with me asking me to to turn the pump on and off and when I pushed once for on and again for second speed but the pump turned off - the technician said "I hear it working"! Next I had the sales person asking me not to file with the BBB but instead let them send a technician - and later found out they called my husband busy at work and basically stated they were sending us a new pump to put in by ourselves, and that we shouldn't worry because they are willing to put in writing that this would not invalidate our warranty! So, don't buy. You'll be out thousands of dollars and stuck with a big bathtub in your back yard like we are :O( read more

Do not be temped by so many features for such a reasonable price because you will go broke buying replacement parts from them in no time. My only regret is that I had to move and the way it was installed at the old house it would be next to impossible to move... Do not buy from this company. I bought a Lugna Bay Spa X-12 in May of 2012. I have had to put 3 heaters, 2 control boards, a sub woofer and numberous jets in it over the last 18 months. There is no service after the sale only a warranty department that does not seem to understand customer service. They will send replacement parts but you get to put them in yourself. I own a Laguna Bay Spas and I have replaced every part on the spa in the first 2 years of ownership except for the pumps. The main control panel, every single moving jet, some lamination and control module needed replacing. Oh, and the cover has disintegrated and had to be replaced twice. After reading the other reviews, I have to agree unfortunately. We have had our 7 seater which we paid over $5000 for right at 2 1/2 years. It has been down nearly the entire time. When we very first got it, we tried to program it according to the manual that came with it. They didn't match. Found out there was NO energy saver mode. Then we have proceeded to change the pump twice & the motherboard 3 times by OURSELVES! Mainly because they kept sending the wrong part. Very irritating! But if you can talk with some guy named Justin, he does know what's going on & can give u a straight answer! read more

We purchased a 2 person spa. The original pump went out within the warranty period. The second pump (just a little over a year later and out of the warranty period) also went out. We replaced that pump. Now the controller board has burned up. The people in the parts dept were very nice but the product is substandard. We purchased from CLEARWATER SPAS On Vets in Metairie. They were helpful while the unit was under warranty. The 2nd pump that independent tech put in burned out because it was not completely hooked up. read more

The worst! I hate to "profile" but the customer service department reminds me of a scene from the movie Deliverance. I had the finish go bad on a new spa in less then a year, battled with them to replace it for another 6 months and now the new one has had two power packs go bad in less than a year, and they will no longer warranty anything on the replacement spa. Have had the unit for 3 years and are on our third control unit. Called customer service and asked if the units have a warranty and were told no you have to buy a new one. I purchased a new one and they sent a used one that was all beat up but still charged for new. No invoice and no packaging in the box to keep the unit from moving around. Worst customer service ever! When asked about a new corner for the unit the guy just said "we don't have those parts anymore and then just hung up. These products are of poor quality and the company does not care after the sale. I hate to add my name to the list, but this is the worst company, and once you've bought, it's yours, there is no going back. Within the first year of buying the X12 model, the mother board burned out, and they sent me another one. $350.00 for a private electrician to install it. Thank goodness there was a 2 year warranty so I didn't have to pay for the part. I thought, O.K., S_ _ _ happens. I live in the Catskill Mountains in New York State, so decided with all of the snow to drain and leave it empty for the winter. I went to fill it and turn it back on the following spring, still within the 2 year warranty time frame. When I flipped the switch, several of the jet connections were spewing water, and only pump number two would turn on, not pump 1. So I called the company, and was sent a new pump number one. Oh Oh, S _ _ _ happens a second year in a row! NOT A GOOD SIGN! My electrician had to go to Home Depot and buy new PVC piping and rework four of the leaking couplers for the jets which were leaking, and install new pump #one! Another $350.00. I'm now into this spa for the original $4800 + $700 in repairs and I'm scared to death to drain it for this 3rd winter, as everything will freeze up, even though I followed the companies instructions when draining and filled all of the pipes with anti-freeze! I'm forced to leave it filled and running the entire winter, for fear of what I'll find when I re-open it in the spring of 2015. And of course I'm on my own now, the two year warranty ran out Feb. of 2014 After all of the problems I've had with this spa, I should have been sent a brand new spa, the second time major S _ _ _ happened. NEVER EVER buy a hot tub from Laguna Bay Spas! Hot tub worked great for 1 1/2 years after purchase (I know I bought it from a friend and there was no warranty, but there support gives you a run around and claims to help but doesn't really have any answers to your questions! Hit on relays, pour hot water down the filter housing, etc etc......) and finally I got a error code of a temperature sensor was bad, the tech support side tells me my heater went out! So, I asked is that something I can do since I have a history in electronics and so on.....they say, yes sir, so I replace the heater! (150.00 later) and still, same error code...they then send me another heater....replace again....same result (Now Ive drained and fill this damn thing 2x) So I'm on the phone with these people and they tell me, weird, we NEVER have problems with our 120V systems and the Pack (control box) needs to be replaced! ($472.00) so I ask, well you need to take them $150.00 off on a part your service dept. told me to replace! No Buenos....won't do it and begins to tell me about it being out of warranty and they are trying to help me..blah blah blah! Needless to say, now I'm pissed off!
