Such a cute and convenient trolley service. My boyfriend and I were exploring Laguna Beach when we saw the Laguna Beach Trolley stops as we walked around. We had parked a distance away and walked towards the downtown area to wander. When I saw the trolley service parked, I had the idea to hop on and enjoy the ocean side views. Soooo romanticccc, right? Perhaps, if the sun wasn't in my eye when I faced the ocean during that time of day, but still fun. They Laguna Beach Trolley is FREE and you can expect a pick up at each stop once every 20-30 minutes. I really like that they have QR codes you can scan to track where the trolleys are real time so you can see when the next one will come by. If you're a local or frequent visitor of the area, there's also an app you can download to track the trolley. If you're planning a trip you can check their website prior to see if they're operating because they have different summer hours, off-season hours, and holiday schedules you might want to be aware of. The trolley service was especially helpful for my boyfriend and I to get to the Victoria Beach stop, since there was scarce parking around that area. When you are ready to disembark, pull the string along the top edge of the trolley to signal the driver. Overall a fun whimsical experience that was FREE! What's not to like :)

Summer 2022 - Please note it doesn't stop at every stop unless you tell the driver!

Found out taking the trolley back to our car that IT DOESN'T STOP AT EVERY STOP. You have to let the driver know either when you board or from your seat that you want to stop at a particular stop. After stopping at the first few stops, we assumed the trolley would stop at every stop. Wrong! When it got to the next stop (ours) it went sailing on by! Then it sailed by the next stop and the next! We finally managed to communicate to the driver that we needed to get off and then we had to stand in the sun for 20-30 minutes waiting for a trolley to take us back in the other direction! We were not happy. Dear Laguna Trolley, please make it clear to passengers that you don't stop at every stop or simply stop at every stop. Thank you. Other than that, the service was great.

The Laguna Beach Trolley runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It runs 4pm to 11 pm on Friday, 11 am to 11 pm on Saturday and 11 am to 8 pm on Sunday. It's free of charge and very convenient. The stops are marked and easy to locate. The trolley is not air conditioned and the seats are all wooden. It is recommended that you download the Visit Laguna Beach App and track the trolley in real time. This will save you from missing a pick up and take some of the guess work out of using the trolley.

Love Laguna!

I cannot believe I've lived here forever and never rode the trolley! SO MUCH FUN!! The parking itself is $10 for all day but the trolley shuttle is free! It travels as far as the Ritz Carlton and Montage (I'm trying to imagine pulling up to the Ritz in a trolley ). It's open (no windows) and therefore you get quite the breeze when it's moving - hold your hat! I would certainly expect you'd want a sweater if riding in the evening. It runs until 11pm and there is a 20 minute wait in between each Trolley. The drivers are cool and friendly in their Hawaiian shirts. Next time you visit Laguna, don't hassle with parking and take the trolley. The kids absolutely love it!

When in Laguna, use the free trolley to get around. We start to use it from the parking lot on. On our visits here, we used the trolley to explore the coast Northbound or South. Cute trolleys! Get a map, talk to the drivers, make sure you go in the right direction: Sawdust festival, Pageant of the Masters, Downtown. In downtown you can change and go on the coast North (toward the Art Museum) or South (has lots of stops, toward Dana Point). we never had to wait forever for one to show up. Yes, some drivers are nicer than others, yes, you need to get that map, do your homework, they might not stop where you need. But the stops are close to each other, you can walk. Mix of tourists, beach goers on board. Sometimes a good crowd, sometimes not so. There's some wind, since some have opened parts to them, so your nice hairdo might suffer! But, the trolley saves you a lot of hassle. So, sit back and enjoy the views. Hop on and off. Take advantage of it during the summer!

Driver with no mask.

We used the trolley a lot. Good experience but some of the drivers aren't wearing masks. Not good. How can you expect riders to conform when the driver doesn't.

Hard to give it less than 5 stars - it's in Laguna Beach, and it's FREE, and these cute open-air trolleys go up and down PCH and up the canyon every 20 minutes. Great way to get from place to place, go/from the Pageant of the Masters, or even just take a ride and enjoy the scenic tour and maybe even a little commentary from the driver. NOTE: Didn't see anything to pull to say we wanted to get off, you kind of just have to yell at the driver, "STOP," but that worked.

The best way to see Laguna Beach in the summer. These open-air trolleys run every few minutes along PCH and up Laguna Canyon. The trolleys are very festive. People aren't just cheerful, they're practically giddy. The Hawaiian-shirted drivers greet you with a friendly ring of the bell. It's so much fun rolling along PCH with the ocean breeze in your face admiring the gorgeous scenery. When you want to get off be sure to yell at the driver. You might miss your stop. One time an empty trolley pulled up to the stop. The driver apologized that he couldn't take any passengers. The trolley was having mechanical difficulties. "OK, thanks for telling us!" And he was on his way. That's how Laguna is. It has rare small-town friendliness. The trolley starts the last week of June and runs through August.

My family enjoying the ride!

When you have a 3yr old that enjoys train rides, they will also enjoy trolley rides. There are 3 routes. We like the NorthBound Route. Its not that long of a ride and the view is nice. We park off Clifff and Jasmin because there is a nice shaded area and the restrooms are close by. We have taken the SouthBound Route before... it took forever.... not as exciting as NorthBound... The Canyon Route is just going to the parking lots... If you have the opportunity to have Mark as your driver, you might get lucky and have him sing for you. He is our favorite driver!!! Enjoy the trolley! We love the red one and we sit on passenger side in the back. Nice and cool!!!

Guy in the back wanted in on the trolley selfie.

-Excellent way to travel around Laguna without having to pay for parking everywhere you go. Just find a free parking spot, remember it, and hop on. -They don't stop at every location, so be sure to know where you are going and let the driver know beforehand. Most drivers are very friendly, hilarious, or on point. -Be ready to wait a very long time, or be very crammed by evening time. We wanted to catch one at 6:30 pm from downtown, and ended up walking 6 blocks to our car. On our walk, we did not even see ONE trolley go past us. Others could have been waiting even longer.

What a crock of poo for those who already have physical barriers on the regular. With the amount of rich housing residents you think they'd be able to have this accommodation too. Thumbs down on the lack of accessibility.

Now come on, it already gets a handful of stars for being fun to say. say it with me now: Fun-ICK-U-Lar (gotta love the 4 syllable words!) I had never heard of such a thing before but have already been to it twice since Dec. while visiting my grandma. it's sort of become a nice thing to do when getting the family together ever since it opened (end of Dec. 2009). There is really only so much adventure/stimulation in strolling down the boardwalk of Dana Point, after all. So in short, this is a small, glass cart that travels up and down the hill connecting the Strands beach to the parking lot above. Apparently it was created as an appeasement to the public for the Über-wealthy real estate being built along the beach (you can read about it on the site) This thing seriously travels like a snail and has about a 10-15 minute turnaround if you just missed the boat (or had to wait b/c its too packed to enter). It really is super impractical and seems to be a reverse psychology for getting exercise since the alternative for impatient people is walking up the giant staircase. but let's face it, it's all about the novelty factor, and it's basically a free "disney land ride" - i.e. an excruciating wait for a few minutes of fun. Currently it's running on the off season schedule (weekends and holidays only). I cannot imagine what madness will ensue when summer hits...given its already gotten a lot of attention and is always a full ride when ive gone. Might end up being the less-than-fun-icular experience. we'll see!

The best stop is the main beach one which drops you right near the beach, shops, and restaurants. One of the stops is right in front of 1000 steps beach which is hard to find otherwise so just ask the driver which stop that is. It was the best way to explore the city on my own. Many of the locals were taking this transit because the driver knew a lot of their names etc. It was nice to see a small town way of transportation. In addition, it was very inexpensive which surprised me. In the summer months they have some services which are complimentary.
