That, and I wasn't necessarily blown away by any one particular vendor. I highly suggest coming early or parking a little ways down - since come 6:00pm - Downtown San Rafael is a madhouse. As far as clothing and jewelry vendors - I didn't see too much that stood out to me personally, but it was still fun to browse. The Food vendors were very friendly. I tried a mini vanilla Teeny Cake, which was probably the highlight of my stroll-through. The fruit looked delicious and I loved that so many of the fruit vendors had samples out. White nectarines, peaches, and plums - juicy and perfectly ripe were everywhere. I watched a number of mellow soulful musical performances, before turning the corner and heading to Sol Food for some Mango Iced Tea and plantains. I'm so glad that these early night Farmers Markets exist. It's an incredible way to bring together a diverse group of people in a warm and genuine way. Would definitely recommend- if you happen to be in the area on an upcoming Thursday.

They have the usual fruits and vegetables, an assortment of okay food, live LOUD music on the little square beside Arizmendi Bakery, inflatable jumpy things at one end, and mostly forgettable jewelry/clothes/junque at the other end. No dogs allowed here, even on a leash. You will be stopped, so don't even bother trying.

This is a great location in the Town of Fairfax to provide a meeting space. Street parking can be tricky but the setting is under the big pine trees, next to the children's playground and river bed. On warmer summer days, the smell of pine wafts through the building. I believe the Town Council meeting are held here as well.

There were tons of people who brought logos and blankets and set up little picnics. The vibe is very chill. There's tons of outdoor seating which was really nice for a nice sunny day. It is definitely a place to come for the vibe rather than the beer itself. The selection is pretty small. They had four beers, a house red and white. They had tons of board games which my group really liked. The location is a bit remote. We followed the sun trail to get there and it was a nice 20 minute little hike. It's nice to feel like you're in the middle of nature away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This is a nice hidden gem in Mill Valley, great spot to spend a few hours in on a sunny day. The only negative is that it's only open to members except for a few weekends of the year.

My friend Jaime H. planned a hike with the destination being the Nature Friends Tourist Club, Although you can drive there, we opted to hike the 5 or so miles there. It was a long upward hike, but let me just tell you that the beer was sooo amazing after it. It just amazed me to see this awesome spot, nestled away like a little secret. It's only open 10 times a year to non-members, so it was crowded. I felt so happy to finally be there and enjoy the rest of my day. We found a place to camp out on the deck and picnic. They let you bring in your own food, but I forgot to bring a real lunch. I bought a meat jerky stick and chips along with a couple pitchers of beer. My friends brought some food, which we shared. People were enjoying the weather, family and friends getting together over pitchers of beer, board games and lunch. It was a perfect day. You can tell that the members truly love and take care of their club. Thank you for allowing us to share it with you!

We took on Alamere falls and it was a lot of fun. On the way back our car broke down and we stopped in the lovely town of Bolinas. Our first move was to try to find a mechanic. The locals pointed us to someone named Sean. We went to a bar to try to find him only for someone there to tell us he was in Richmond. I love that all the locals there knew this one mechanic. Eventually we called AAA to get the car towed and they came within an hour which was impressive Next on the agenda was to call an Uber to get us out of here. After roughly twelve attempts to call an Uber we found one. Our plan is to first Uber to Mill Valley and then try to catch something to S.F. While waiting we got some food here. The food was quite good. The fish tacos are very flavorful with excellent salsa. They had a robust menu of vegan options a the vegan chicken bowl is really good and ethically sourced to boot! If you are ever in Bolinas I highly recommend this restaurant!

It said it came with beans. Which is something that would typically be in a taco salad at the bottom. Well, this one didn't. It had a few black beans sprinkled on top. Then the corn? Unsure about that but there were sprinkles of that. I had to pay for the guacamole. Okay, typical. Then onto the the protein. Typically, taco salads come with this but not at this place. They charge $5 extra for that and it wasnt very much. The "asada" was the tiny cubed type. You know the type you see in grocery stores? It tasted like meat that had been left in the fridge for a few days and reheated. So, if you like lettuce in a taco shell that has a few sprinkles of other things, then this $25 "taco" salad is for you. My 14 yr old is a better cook. We also ordered a bean a cheese burrito. He did say that was a kids burrito, so I said okay. I didn't know it was $12. The waffle fries were good. Someone we brought with us ordered those and shared. She said her other food item was dreadful. The other person said his food was not worth the $20ish he spent on his burrito either. We were hungry and didn't plan accordingly. Next time, we will. This place is your typical overpriced horrible food tourist trap place. Just come with food if you plan on visiting the beach. I feel bad for the people who actually live in this town and this is one of the veey limited options they have for eating out. It's in the midst of this nesting that I've discovered the joys of what the Throckmorton Theatre is laying down. The free, monthly noontime concerts are great as is the always popular weekly comedy night but more recently I've been enjoying the other events offered. In so doing I've come to see the Throckmorton as an essential community asset; they save me a drive to the City while providing right-sized entertainment close to home. When I attend events here I leave feeling thankful for their offerings. In recent months I've enjoyed a Jonathan Richman concert (fab... bring him back!), a concert by a local band, and A Chorus Line, teen edition. That last one left me sorry that I'd missed the previous one-time Broadway shows showcased here and with resolve not to miss another. For a little above the cost of your ticket you can pay to enjoy reserved seats but if you fail to do that you'll find equally satisfying seating on the main floor (they also have balcony seating) if you arrive early enough to snag it. I find myself checking the Throckmorton's calendar with a frequency, these days, that I'd not have anticipated even one year earlier. They've not disappointed yet.

I've come to associate music festivals with great music, insane crowds and an epic layer of filth that can make festival attendance daunting. This is a far gentler, more wholesome and community focused music festival than you may have attended in the past. There is no playa dust here, no skimpy festival ware, no endless bathroom lines or overly intoxicated party people passing out. The Mill Valley Music Festival is a fun, easygoing multigenerational gathering with kids, parents, grandparents (and yes, mothers on Mother's Day!) and also singles, face painting, sunshine and good local wine (Scribe & Marine Layer), local beer and craft cider makers (Oakland United, Brooks Dry Cider, Fairfax Brewing) a good selection of delicious NA beverages and a curated selection of local food stalls (Mamahuhu, Hopmonk, Bini's Kitchen, etc.) & local retailers, and some good music. From the moment I entered the room, I could feel lots of great energy. everyone was very friendly and I felt very at home. I've been a member now at this club for about 2 years. Toastmasters is a very safe place to improve my speaking skills, learn new skills and become part of larger organization that has tremendous resources for leadership and professional speaking. I highly recommend Toastmasters to anyone who wants to improve their presentation, speaking and communication skills.
