This joint will set you back $4.50 a pound for u-pick version and they offer pre-picked cherries for $6 a pound. Additional items for sale: a fruit picker stick for $15, Marsh Creek Farm hats for $20, water bottles for $1, & local honey for $18. With our visit occurring during opening weekend, picking the cherries wasn't too bad. There was plenty of reachable fruit for ya girl who is a whopping 5'5. The darker, sweeter options located at the tip top of the trees were only accessible if you had a fruit picker. No ladders were available or seen. 5/5 stars for the memorable family fun. We go cherry picking every year as a family tradition, and this year we decided to try a new farm and we are so glad we did! We had an amazing time gathering ten pounds of cherries. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and resourceful. We had such a great experience that we're already looking forward to coming back next year. Marsh Creek Cherries is a smaller, more mellow Brentwood orchard with U-Pick cherries in a serene setting away from the main roads that seem to be overrun each May with visitors to Brentwood. I enjoyed the more quiet atmosphere at this orchard. It's great if you want to get in and out quickly as it's not a lot of walking. I was able to pick a few pounds during my lunch hour on a recent Friday. They accept cash or Venmo and said they think they'll be open through Mid June this 2025 season. I came here after looking for Rainier cherries in adjacent farms, and I'm glad that I stumbled across this one! This is one of those lesser-known farms, so the trees are still bountiful with less foot traffic. I guess I came a bit too soon because there was only one Rainier tree that was ready for picking. While everyone was distracted with the Coral cherries, I monopolized the Rainier tree lol! But don't worry, they said there will be more Rainiers starting next week! I forgot to ask the price per lb but my batch ended up being a bit shy of 8 lbs and I paid $31 flat. So it's about $3.87/lb. I would recommend going to lesser-known farms like this one to get a better bang for your buck because bigger farms take advantage of the "tourists," who end up paying higher prices per lb. Also, note to customers: please don't complain about the orchard having uneven ground or that there are weeds/grass everywhere. Like come on, what do people expect? A hidden gem amongst the cherry farms. Been here twice this season and no disappointment at all. On the first visit, the cherries were abundant from the moment you stepped into the orchard. Absolutely a great find. Because of how wonderful this place is, we came back in the morning of June 5th. This time, we had to walk into the orchard just a bit but there were still plenty of lapin cherries. First time we picked 22 pounds! Hubby like to stay in one tree while I'm a wanderer. Very nice experience. It's 2024. The cherries were only three dollars a pound. You pick them yourselves and they're plenty to choose from. One thing I did notice was that there are no more ladders to use. Something must have happened to have the ladders removed. For a shorter person like me, it was a little bit more difficult to pick the right cherries. But overall, great experience! The young adults who check you out are respectful and Competent. Super fun spot. Get there early as possible because they will fill up. We went mid may and were not able to find TONS of the deep red cherries but there was a lot of really beautiful red cherries. We got there about 10am on a Sunday and there was a good crowd but not overly crowded. We left with about with maybe 6lbs of decent cherries. The ones that were dark are super good so I'm not sure if we were maybe too early or late in the season to where all the good ones were gone or they hadn't finished maturing. We got here on Saturday, June 6, which is much later in the year than we usually go. I was surprised that there were so many cherries left. Maybe the coronavirus kept the crowds down. Cherries were great. So sweet. We got there at 8:00am and waited, they opened early around 8:15am. We picked up almost four pounds of cherries in under 30 minutes and were on our way. They also sell the cherry picker $20 for 1 or $30 for 2. I will definitely get it if you have lil ones that loves to pick cherries. They will give you a pan with garbage bag wrapped around it to make it really easy to pay and go. Parking was really easy. There are helpers that will guide you in. Our annual cherry picking event was not too memorable. We decided to try a new place from last year. Last year, we picked cherries at Nunn Better Farm but this year we came here. Parking was not too difficult - we saw people leaving when we got here. Unfortunately, we didn't see many cherries on the trees. They have been picked over. Most of the trees were empty except for some at the top and you need a ladder to get those. The cherries that we managed to get were sweet. We did walk far from the entrance but no luck. We were looking for someplace with good varieties of cherry and I decided we'd check out this farm with no Yelp reviews. I'm glad we did! So many big sweet cherries!! We had to drive in a good bit to find the entrance with their little stand, I think they move the entrance to wherever has the most ripe cherries. The trees nearest the entrance were picked out, like at any farm, but just go in deeper or go over 1-2 rows and you'll be drowning in cherries! Buckets and bags are provided, there's 2 gallon (12 lb) buckets and 5 gallon ones. Cherries are the standard $3.50 or so per pound. They take the bags out of the buckets to weigh, so no need to worry about the bucket weight. They also sold some pre-picked cherries out front, but where's the fun in that? Unlike the other farm we visited (Bacchini's), the trees were not cut to make all the fruit reachable from the ground, you can see that from my second photo. But this was actually a great thing: the walkways were all shady and cool (we went on Sunday 3pm, might be a different story at noon). There were way more than enough cherries to grab anyway. We did see a ladder in there at one point. Dunno if you're allowed to bring your own. There weren't a lot of other people in there when we went. Overall, I was looking for a nice, comfortable, full cherry picking experience, with at least a couple of cherry varieties, and no huge crowds. This farm delivered on all points, with some nice shade and breezes to boot. Our 3 families ended up grabbing 5 pounds apiece of sweet, juicy dark cherries, and some Rainiers for me. Smaller farm but the best in my opinion. We went to three farms today. Other ones were okay but very crowded and had to walk far back as end of season to find some Lapins. They were just okay. But at Newberry, first of all you are greeted by some very friendly people and they explain how it works and provide you a plastic bag for your pickings. Two pound minimum at $3.50 a pound. The Lapins here were outstanding. Deep purple and firm and ever so sweet. Walked back a little straight into the orchard and numerous cherries on branches easy to pick with now need for a ladder at this late season. By far the best orchard around.
