There is a little kid playground and a big kid playground. The playground area is rubber. Outside of the playground, there is a sandpit with tons of sand toys inside. The park was very clean. For what we can see, they have honey buckets for people to use. A nice playground, that I've not seen before. Ventura Park, according to their website is home to Portland Parks & Recreation's first pump track! A continuous dirt loop that can be ridden on a bike without the need for pedaling. It is not designed for skateboarders or BMX riders. The pathway are paved to the play area. We can watch kids play in the playground, by sitting and having lunch from our car. I could see people having a picnic on one of the tables. We will have to come back here & enjoy more of what they have to offer.

Plus, there's a great path that winds through a forest, and I thought it was an amazing opportunity to take some photos of the plants there; I could imagine the scenarios featuring the forest as a part of the Black Forest in the fairy tales I like to read sometimes, such as Little Red Riding Hood with the Big Bad Wolf (except different, of course). Finally, I give this place two thumbs up, as well as five stars (although ten stars would be even better).

Only feedback to make it better: 1. Currently they're doing construction on the sports field, so there's large empty dirt patches between areas of the park. 2. When we moved five years ago to Wilsonville, one of the highlights of this town are its open spaces and how family-friendly it is. This is just one of many parks in town. It's expansive too! It is located right across the street from the library and they offer so much-- water play (Murase Plaza), structured play, event spaces, nature play, tennis courts, soccer and baseball field, skate park, nature trails, disc golf, and fishing/boat dock. It is also stunning during the fall season with the trees in orange, red, and yellow. Parks and Rec are always maintaining this place. The latest addition to the park is the natural playground, and that is where we took our toddler recently. She LOVED it. She made some friends pretending to fish in the canoe and hang out in the teepees. The sand pit is a big hit too. Whether you're a family visiting or a local, I highly recommend checking this place out.

I'm so glad I did! What struck me first and most about this park was how clean and well maintained it is. They have a delightful sand box with water feature that, I'm sure, will keep the kids busy all day. They also have a very unique and creative rope contraption to climb on (I don't know what the cool kids call it). And there's a skate park, basketball court, baseball diamond, and tennis court to keep everyone happy. We were there on Friday night and the tennis court was filled with folks playing Pickle Ball. So cool to see so many people outside and active on a beautiful summer evening. Finally, there's a wide, well maintained walking path along the river that is delightful. It's so awesome to find a public place like this. We all need more of this!

But I love the space, how much room there is to run and play, picnic benches to enjoy lunch at a table or you can use anywhere on the vast green space to picnic. I also love that this is right across the street from Commonwealth Lake Park, if you want to venture on a walk and see some of the local wildlife, or try another playground. There is always easy and great parking and it's kept SO clean and SO lovely year round. I have 0 bad things to say about this park!!! There are no toilets except for porta potties so if you're okay with that, fear not. But if you're like me, drive the 3 minutes to Cedar Hills Rec to use a real bathroom.
