As for the kids play area, it is a lot smaller than it appeared to be on the advertisement. There is a spiderweb like play gym, and a spin-o-wheel. Theres another area with a higher climbing gym and 1 slide. This area has swings but not many, and only 1 or 2 for small toddlers. Another area is almost entirely rock climbing (for little kids). There is a large soccer field next to the playground, a basketball and tennis court, and a skateboard area that was all older adults (who were using adult language and seemed to be imbibing in marijuana products). I won't be bringing my child back to this park. It is out of the way for my family, although I can see this is a nice thing to have if you happen to live in the neighborhood.

But surprisingly, this patch of grass has a lot going for it. There are open fields, fun water features for those hot summer days, shade trees, restrooms, and all sorts of amenities. There are not a ton of green spaces in the immediate area and so this multiple - block park does a good job of creating some nice, expensive, open space for the locals to play. It's not a bad spot to lay out a blanket on a warm sunny day and enjoy a picnic. Also the water and Play structures offer decent entertainment for the kiddos in your group. I've only been by this park A few times, as there are other, nicer parks closer to my house. However every time I drop by, I'm always surprised at how well equipped this park is. There's a lot going on here, that I have yet to explore: sports fields (baseball and soccer, at the very least), a skatepark, playgrounds, hiking trails, a dog run, public restrooms, and a covered picnic area, perfect for special events: a wedding was setting up and getting underway during our visit. The park's grounds are vast, clean and well-maintained. An incredible green space, and a standout feature of the otherwise drab suburban sprawl that is Gresham (outside of the historic downtown area)!

There were a lot of wasps around when we visited, and we discovered what appeared to be a wasp or bee nest hidden inside the zip line equipment. That's a serious safety hazard, especially for young children, who could easily put their hands near it and get stung. Until the park is properly maintained and the insect issue is addressed, I would not recommend bringing children here. Someone could get seriously hurt if this isn't taken care of soon.
