    Whole snapper

I was looking for a seafood restaurant in this area and wanted to have the whole fish and decided to eat here. The restaurant wasn't busy at 7 p.m. It has incredible views, but it was too hot for us to sit outside. Our server was nice and attentive. We started with PEI mussels; the creamy white wine butter sauce was superb, although the portion was small for the price. Then I had the whole fried snapper. It was okay, it satisfied the craving. Could've had more seasoning as well as the rice and definitely more greens. I personally wouldn't order it again. BF had the chaufa rice, this was tasty but not enough seafood. It was quick and convenient but nothing special.

    Clam Chowder, homemade & delicious!

Daughter & I came here today to get out of the cold and crazy wind while visiting the Sullivan Craft Festival, we were craving a good bowl of soup to warm us up. There was an hour wait for a table so we opted to sit at the bar since it was very nice and spacious and not crowded. They also had LOT'S of tables available outside for immediate seating with heaters but I still found it cold out there so we still chose inside at the bar. Loved the ambiance but staff could have definitely been friendlier. Daughter ordered a bowl of the homemade She Crab Soup which she loved, I tasted it and also thought it was delicious. I went with a bowl of their homemade New England Clam Chowder which was also fantastic and I would definitely order it again. I also ordered an Espresso Martini which was very well made. Highly suggest Laishly Crab House, we can't wait to come back and try some more items.

Love the ambience of this waterfront restaurant in Punta Gorda! We enjoyed the excellently prepared & well presented sushi and drinks. The server was efficient in greeting us and taking our order. Great place to just have an appetizer & drinks OR the full meal deal.

I had a terrific taco salad made with a nice sized piece of grilled grouper sitting on top. The taco bowl was filled with chopped iceberg lettuce, carrots, chopped tomatoes, shredded cheddar, corn and black beans. There was a side of some spicy sauce to pour over the salad or dip into. It was a good sized taco bowl; I was able to get a doggy bag for the bowl and leftover sauce. It became an evening snack.

I came here with a very good friend and his soon to be wife and several of her family members for dinner. We arrived before our reservations and got a drink from the bar, we were then seated at a table that easily sat the 10 of us. The place looks and feels just what it was, an ocean side crab house restaurant. So the nailed the decor. Our waitress came over immediately and got our drink orders. Than we chatted for a while asking her to wait to take our food orders which she did. When everyone had gotten to know each other we placed our orders. I got the grouper laishley and I will have to say with the exception of the rice being overcooked this was an amazing dish. I did not mention the rice because it didn't bother me enough to say anything. Just mentioning it here to say it really wasn't a big deal but note worth. This was the best grouper with crab meat and sauce I have had since leaving VA Beach and reaching at some small mom and pop places. I highly recommend eating here and the grouper was amazing.

Ambiance, its actually pretty cool. appears very clean. large bar, also has an outside bar and huge porch thats covered with shades thats nice to sit at. Id give it 5 stars as its fits the area, has plenty of seating, two bars. Food, I ordered two sushi rolls. They weren't bad. I give them 3 stars. Service, I sat at the bar and there were two bartenders, as i sat and waited to be greeted i had to wait for one bartender to get of her phone. Id post the pic yet i dint think it's appropriate. she did make me a very nice old fashioned. time time for her to get a bit friendly, but not enough. Id have to give service 2 stars. As they do what they have to do, but now what they need to do as a bartender or a server

My husband and I stopped here while on a little roadtrip through the area and what a funky little place - it screams Old Florida. While the reviews seem hit or miss, we had a great experience at this crab house. We sat outside on their large patio - and it was nice - we even got a little show of them removing damaged boats from the marina. We started with some of their dip and it was delicious, hot and cheesy! I had a salad with blackened scallops and loved it - the fruit was fresh, I felt the scallop portion was great for the price, and it was overall a great meal. My husband got a pound of shrimp which he enjoyed quickly. Service was very quick on a Friday afternoon and we would gladly stop by again if we were in the area.

The pros: plenty of parking spots. the location is great, views are wonderful, great area to take a walk after lunch or dinner, love the look of the interior, lots of seating indoors and outside. We were sat at a high table in the bar area. Although there was only one waitress for the whole area, she had good service and was attentive and friendly. The food: a bit pricey. My parents got the shrimp pasta and they loved it. My fried shrimp plate was ok. Came with plenty of shrimp, but Batter was a little mush on the shrimp and then the hush puppies were so over cooked i couldn't bite into one of them. They were super hard. Husband's meal, he said was a bit fishy and bland. I was really wanting and asked to get Parmesan risotto without protein/seafood but they would not allow changes, I'm guessing it's premade. They do have a full sushi menu which we will try next round.

Walked over from a nearby hotel for lunch and sat on the deck looking over the marina. The service was fantastic, everyone was friendly, and the food arrived quickly. The two bars are really cool and the outdoor deck was great. The view over the marina was beautiful, except for all the boats still lying all over the place from the last hurricane. We started with a dozen oysters for the market price of $30, which seemed comical for this type of place. We only counted 10 oysters on the tray though, even though we ordered a dozen. It wasn't worth a complaint to the server over two oysters but still didn't seem right. For my lunch, I had the Pacific Grouper Wrap and fries. The wrap wasn't great and was so soggy and just dripping all over my plate. The fish didn't have great flavor and I didn't love it. The brownie sundae was delicious though. Overall, the same typical Florida flare menu as every other restaurant with very average food. The atmosphere is cool but that's about it.

My wife and I, along with another couple, took the boat to Punta Gorda and had lunch at Laishley Crab House -- we'll be back. Boat parking was easy to find; a few slips were closed, but there were plenty of open spots for several boats. The food was excellent -- we enjoyed the fish and chips, the poke bowl, and a grouper reuben -- everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. The patio offers a lovely view where the Peace River meets Charlotte Harbor, and there are plenty of seating options both indoors and outdoors. The large bar and broad menu made it easy for everyone in our group to find something they liked. Friendly, relaxed atmosphere and convenient waterfront access -- highly recommended.

Very enjoyable dinner. Interesting carved bar, giant crab and outside deck . Glad they don't allow pets as it is on the 2cnd story and thru would have to walk through the whole restaurant to get to the deck. Good service.

    Grouper and Burnt, dry rice

NOPE !!! Don't be Fooled like Us. Definitely a Tourist Trap. Had a reservation and sat quickly. Ordered drinks and Apps. Steamed Mussels and Gyoza. Mussels (10 Total) came out cold like the Gyoza. Dinner Grouper Laishley and Tuscan Shrimp came out right after making a full table. Tuscan Shrimp was tasty but way too much sauce making it more like a soup. The Grouper portion was the size of my palm and cold. Both sides with the Grouper were terrible. Obviously got the bottom of the lunch pan of rice, big chunks burnt together and the rest of the rice was hard, even the replacement rice was the same. Total time in the restaurant for dinner - 36 Mins. For $120, Won't make that mistake again.

Ask the Community - Laishley Crab House

Is the sushi gluten free, or can it be made gluten free? i see they have gluten free soy sauce, but no other gluten free labels on the menu.

Most Sashimi is gluten free just ask. Laishley's sushi is amazing!

Do you have crab legs this week?

    Yes

I have vip company company coming to visit. She has asked to go somewhere for soft-shell crab. Do they have serve it?

It's on their menu , under crab and lobster :) I added the menu photo on yelp for u! Have fun. Only time I had ever had soft shell crab was in South Carolina :)

    How is sushi?

The sushi is great, it's very fresh and made to order.

    Is there a seafood night?

This is not a true seafood house. The food is mediocre at best. I take out of town friends there for the view but I always regret it. The kicker is, not one employee there gives a damn.

The staff works as a team and you can tell, everything moved quickly and everyone was helpful. Our main server was especially friendly and made great recommendations. The food is definitely meant for sharing. We split a dozen medium blue crabs, two dozen clams, gumbo, and a stone crab and shrimp special. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and reasonably priced for the quality. Nothing felt overpriced. Do not skip the key lime pie. It was the perfect ending. Their sheaphead fish soup sample was very tasty, I will order that on next visit. Their coleslaw and corn was made to perfection. I looked at the outdoor bar but every single seat was taken. All the outdoor tables were booked. So I went inside and saw the inside bar was also full. A table for ten and a table for 6 had departed and needed to be bussed, but both were too much for just one person. So I checked in w the hostess and she asked - booth or table. I wanted table. I got a nice table by the river! Lovely views. Exactly what I wanted. Menus were dropped and soon, Sam was checking in on me. I was so hungry, I had looked at the menu and pics on my way there. I went for the crab cake appetizer and the Gold Wave cocktail. For my entree, I was torn between the Grouper Reuben and the Sea Dog (fried grouper on a long roll, topped with all sorts of goodness). Sam said grouper Reuben was his choice. He asked if I wanted grilled, blackened or fried. I told him to surprise me. For my side, I had the choice of (more) coleslaw (it has coleslaw instead of sauerkraut), fries, sweet potato fries, or a side house or Cesar salad for $4 more. I went w the house salad and their standard citrus vinaigrette. Salad and crab cake came out first. Salad was a huge portion- romaine (some pieces needed better washing), red onion galore, halved cherry tomatoes and cucumber slices. It was great, but needed croutons. The crab cake was the perfect size for one person. It had a whole grain mustard remoulade sauce. Yum! It had some filler but also had a lot of crab. I enjoyed it. The grouper Rueben came out hot!!!! Served with a side of coleslaw and a pickle. I added some needed salt. Boy that fish filet was huge. Sam had put it in grilled for me. Healthy. Nice. I ate half and then I was stuffed. I filled up on the salad and crabcake apparently. I enjoyed the views of boaters going by. It started to rain hard and the folks outside just stayed there. The overhang must've been protecting them well. My server, Sam, was around often to answer my questions. Apparently the grouper Reuben market price is only $21. And if you want redfish or mahi, the price is the same- $21! That's crazy. What a deal. The gold wave is made with Elijah Craig; Good ol Kentucky bourbon. And for dessert, they have cheesecake, peanut butter pie, mud pie, key lime pie, coconut sorbet and orange cake (which he says is a local favorite). I was too stuffed to buy but happy to hear the list. Overall I had a wonderful meal and service was really good. I would recommend adding croutons to the salad, and cleaning up the bathrooms regularly. This place ain't fancy. It's a dirt parking lot. The tables are naked. Folks come casual. However, the prices are great and the food does the talking. Come check them out.

Every time our kids dropped their crayons, we jokingly told them, "You snooze, you lose," because we didn't want them picking anything up off the floor. Our waitress was very kind and patient, but we barely saw her throughout the meal. The service could definitely be more attentive. We also waited quite a while for our check, and by then our kids were getting pretty impatient. The kids' mac and cheese looked just like Kraft mac and cheese. The kids enjoyed it, but it's probably not something we'd order again since it's easy to make at home. The oysters were delicious, and I also really enjoyed the fried shrimp basket. I wasn't a fan of the radish sauce, but the coleslaw was excellent. My husband ordered the whole fried fish basket. Unfortunately, it was served without any utensils, so we had to wait until we could flag down another waitress to ask for some because we couldn't find our server. The fish also would have been easier to eat if it had been cut or partially filleted, as the crispy coating fell off the fish when trying to eat it, making it less appetizing. Overall, the food had some highlights, especially the oysters and fried shrimp, but cleaner floors and more attentive service would have made the experience much better.

So a few things to know: this restaurant Stretto, has become the only sit down restaurant in the Sun Seeker "Resort". When Sunseeker opened before the take over by Hilton, there was Maury's steakhouse and 2 other restaurants. We ate at Maury's , it was pricey but food selection and quality was up to Par with a fine dining restaurant. So since Hilton bought the hotel, the other restaurants are gone and Stretto is the Only restaurant on the premises unless you want to eat in the food court. My experience at Stretto was negative to say the least. I booked the at Sunseeker for Father's Day weekend. Made reservations at Stretto expecting a great time. We got there and right away I knew this was not Maury's . Wait staff lack the experience and professionalism of a fine dining venue. Our waitress Melody waited a long time after we had ordered drinks and appetizers to casually announce they were out of sea bass and scallops. Mind you they have a very limited menu and entrees run from $48 pork chops, $76 short ribs $209 steak. Based on the mixed reviews of the restaurant the sea bass and scallops were the safest options. So now I had no choice but to find another expensive option on their limited pricey menu. I would have left except we would get charge $25 a person for last minute cancellation and I didn't want to spoil my husband's special dinner. I ordered the $56 Pan seared bronzino which was fried not seared. It was a blend piece of finish on the plate. Everything is à la carte. Sides are $13-18. My husband had a 4" petit filet at $58 that was over seasoned and average. A wedge salad with a chewy piece of bacon that the knife couldn't cut and could not be swallowed. Cold truffle fries . Everything was salty . All in all, very disappointing and upsetting experience. Poor food quality, service at a high price point. After we were done and we got the check, it took the waitress at least 15-20 minutes to process payment while my husband was exhausted and anxious to leave. If you're staying at Sunseeker, don't waste your money. Get in your car or uber to one of the many restaurants within 10-15 min from the hotel.

My server was Amanda and she was prompt. I started with a cocktail - the mango tango- and asked some questions about the menu. I had never heard of this Quahog, which apparently is a noreasterner kinda thing. Ok. Chopped clams, bread crumbs, bell peppers etc. why not. I'll try it. Bad choice. It had a good flavor but I kept crunching on shells!!! It seemed like eggshells were in it, everywhere. It was horrible. I kept thinking the next bite won't be like that- but it was. So many bites were bad. I asked the server what was up- she figured it out. It's not shells it's SAND!!!!! They're not cleaning the clams well. Bro. Rookie mistake. This is why I never order scallops. I hate when they're sandy. And now clams?!? I have to stay away from clams?!? Sheesh. She asked if I wanted bread- I said yes. I wasn't sure if the bread was included? It is not included and is an up charge at other restaurants (The Perfect Caper is an example of that, as well as Ortigia). She gave me one piece. It was delicious, served warm and crispy, and the whipped butter was fantastic. I asked what the butter was a Wisconsin country cream. Clean ingredients. Lots of salt. Yum. I also got a small cup of their soup. Amanda said their soups are always good. The soup of the day was braised beef noodle. It was really good. I could see having a bowl of that and a piece of bread and being totally happy. I was torn between the meatloaf and the Portuguese stuffed shrimp. She recommended the meatloaf. Oh boy. That was a great choice; it was huge. Smothered in bruleed cheese and sauteed onions. Lots of gravy. Lots of skinny green beans and a big scoop of mashed potatoes. Wow! What a meal. So good. I got my leftovers wrapped up. I took a piece of the birthday cheesecake home. It was listed on the specials menu. It looked really nice. However, it was not my favorite and actually, I would not recommend it. It's not cake, it's cheesecake, but the sprinkles just ruin the texture and flavor of the cheesecake, which wasn't a great cheesecake to begin with. Skip it. When the bill came, I was surprised the Quahog was on there. Especially because it was so ill prepared and I complained about it. But whatever. I thanked Amanda, paid, finished my cocktail and left. Parking is on the street or in the parking garage structure on the road behind them. Bathrooms are in the back along the long hallway, I didn't check them out. They have a large bar up front and what looks like a room they could do private events / meetings in. They have a new summer menu where all items are $20. I think that's a good deal. They have a lot of great sounding items on their menu and I heard the shrimp Mozambique is amazing. Maybe I'll get that next time.

To wrap up our Father's Day getaway, the wife once again reminded me why she's the CEO of vacation…read moreplanning. She found Leroy's Southern Kitchen & Bar in Punta Gorda, and let me tell you this place isn't a restaurant it's a whole Saturday night experience! I walked in thinking there had to be a festival, birthday party, or somebody famous in town. Nope! That's just how they roll every Saturday. Live music, people dancing, everyone smiling I started wondering if they slipped happiness into the sweet tea. Now the wife ordered the Nevermind Pressed Burger with extra cheese and black coffee steak sauce. NEVERMIND?? More like Never mind my diet! One bite then another then another and suddenly her plate looked like the dishwasher had already been there. The burger was cooked perfectly, juicy, cheesy, and that steak sauce should be illegal in at least 12 states. Meanwhile, I ordered the 10 oz. Skirt Steak with jasmine rice, carrots, green onions, and their house made Asian marinade. Listen whoever made that sauce I need the recipe, your autograph, and your retirement plan. I was this close to asking for a to go cup so I could pour it on my cereal tomorrow morning. Mama mia that steak disappeared faster than my paycheck after my wife says, Let's just stop at one more store. Then dessert happened. We saw our neighbors order the homemade Banana Nilla Pudding special. My wife looked at me with that look that says, We're getting one. Fellas you already know that's not a suggestion. Well she got one. I got exactly three bites. THREE! ‍ By the time I looked back, the jar was cleaner than the windows at a car wash. Dear Lord now I understand why my doctor keeps telling me to watch my sugar. That pudding almost had me scheduling my next A1C appointment from the table. The live band had me singing songs from back in the day don't ask which ones. Some of y'all are detectives and I'm not giving away my age! And a huge shout-out to Athena! She knew that menu like she wrote it herself. Friendly, funny, attentive she made us feel like regulars even though it was our first visit. So thank you, Uncle Leroy! Between the food, the music, the atmosphere, and my wife stealing 97% of the dessert, this was the perfect way to end an unforgettable Father's Day getaway. Five stars. Come hungry leave happy and if you order the Banana Nilla Pudding, order TWO. One for your wife and one that you hide under the table. Trust me.

Every one came in dressed cool, comfortable with a tiki style theme to enjoy the relaxing and beautiful ambiance. We were greeted by Aimee, who immediately warmly welcomed us and asked if there was anything additional they could do to please us. The place is normally closed for lunch but I requested a special lunch for our Charlotte County Girlfriends could enjoy Half Crack again. I'm addition to us, other lunchers were happy to enjoy dining as well. Our servers, Dawn and team were a delight, on point with drinks, appetizers, entrees! They do go all out in even providing orchids and lemons to accompany your water glasses! Such a creative touch. We had a few new comers, and new attendees to our lunch who had never or haven't been in a while, attended before that I was thrilled and honor to have them join us. The food was as always delicious, drinks refreshing and quenching, service superb! After lunch we were given a tour by Aimee of the entire Sun Seeker Resort. Up to the Blue Level 6, meeting Jada for an orientation of services. Some of our girls continued on the tour with Aimee, for room tours, SPA, and other amenities! All in all it was a spectacular time, we want to thank the management, the staff of their appreciation of our delight lunch & visit to SUN SEEKER HALF CRACK!

Oysters yumm, shrimp cocktail tasty, coconut shrimp not so good, hard on the outside mushy on the inside. The drinks were pleasant for my friends. For me the Jamaican dark rum never was served that I asked for. The salmon patty sandwich special missed the mark. A mahi fish taco was skimpy filled, tasted ok. The dessert was really poor & way pricey ... coconut cream tart was all whip cream topping. The musical entertainment was great by Adriana McDonald & made the evening more enjoyable. The Parking...We had free valet parking because we were eating there we thought, but my friend pulled up and they told her it was not free and that she needed to park in the self Park so she had a lot farther to walk which I thought was kind of screwy. Please let us know what's up with that? After dinner we wandered to the rooftop to see the view at sunset. It was very beautiful up top.
