Walked to the area from a nearby hotel looking for somewhere to have dinner. Saw this place had…read moresome nice outdoor seating and went inside. I waited a while before a server came, by then I was ready to order. I was surprised they did not have fountain drinks, only warm bottles of soda. After I ordered, another guy was seated outside. He sat there a while without anyone going to his table and he left. My appetizer took about 20 minutes to come out. I ate half of it with the intention of taking the rest of it with me for later. When the lasagna I ordered was brought to the table, I had been there for almost an hour. I also had to stop the server from taking away my partially eaten appetizer. I was expecting a slice of lasagna, but it appears they made them one at a time in a skillet in the oven. It was served extremely hot, enough that they put a sticker on the skillet saying so. The cheese around the edge was burned, and it ended up being a meat, cheese, and noodle mess. I ate as much as I wanted to, then waited for my server to come back so I could get the bill and box. Eventually, I was one of only 2 tables left in the place, and none of the servers were visible. I saw there was a way to pay with my phone, so I just ate what I was going to take with me, paid, and left just under 2 hours after I originally arrived. Far too long for 1 person to have 1 appetizer and 1 entrée.

By the menu, I thought this would be an upscale experience, it was not. The other food was okay, I enjoyed my husband's lasagna, but again. There were maybe 4 big bites at a pretty steep price tag. With the exception of the lasagna (which was still overpriced), it tasted like cheap eats. I do not wish to be mean, I just cannot believe they're charging those prices for that quality and quantity of food. I truly hope others have better experiences!

Another Southampton restaurant that doesn't look like much from outside but is really very nice…read more Seems to be a family run place, with pleasant interior of the white tablecloth variety. Since it is between the KFC and a tattoo parlour, and generally in an area full of chain restaurants I have walked past this place without much of a glance. Luckily a friend recommended it to me when I said I hand't found a good Chinese place in this city yet. We went for the all-you-can-eat dinner buffet and everything was good with some standout items like the crispy shredded beef and the chicken wings. It was reasonably busy for a Tuesday when we were there but service was attentive enough for us to order everything we wanted and then some. Definitely coming back soon.

Tangs offer a great lunch buffet menu. Everything you order from the menu is freshly made when you order it, its not out for grabs on plates and portables hobs like most other places due when there is a buffet. The variety of food at the restaurant is very impressive considering its location, and the food never fails to impress. The waiters and waitresses are all very nice and pleasant and make you feel comfortable and relaxed. Perhaps the only downside of the restaurant is that its neighbour is KFC

Parts of the meal were fantastic, a few were just good, but the combination with the atmosphere and good service earned five stars. My favorite part of the meal was the eggs from the snacks section (I forgot the name, but their equivalent of scotch eggs). The porchetta was also excellent, with a lot of crackling. Don't miss the onion straws, they were addictive. I was disappointed in the mozzarella with beetroot, way too much beetroot that overpowered the dish. Overall, though, a great experience and i plan to return with my family.

My dinner was exquisite - I ate on the later side after one or two pre-dinner drinks and ample time to review the menu. I wasn't as fond of the Saddleback Crackling pig skin with applesauce - this was too crispy for my liking. The first few bites I was afraid to crack a tooth. The slow cooked Lamb belly was out of this world. Service was very good given how busy the restaurant was. Best of all I spent the night in a charming room and enjoyed a lovely breakfast the next morning. Such a wonderful, charming placed to escape in the New Forest.
