This place is beautiful. Has a lovely view of the docks. So many options to choose from when it comes to drinks and food.
They are vegan friendly too. They have a dedicated vegan menu.
Tried out the vegan falafel and avocado wrap, vegan smoked aubergine and rice, vegan pulled jackfruit burger.
The wrap was lovely although a bit dry. But definitely tasty and something I would have again. Maybe I would add some sauces on the side to make it more juicy.
The smoked aubergine and rice was lovely, very flavoursome. The rice was perfectly done. I couldn't complain at all.
The pulled jackfruit burger was something I wanted to try out quite eagerly. Jackfruit is quite common back in Kerala, India. So I wanted to know how they made a burger out of it. Although, the burger was lovely, we didn't get the taste of jackfruit very much. I kept looking into the patty to see any signs of jackfruit, and I was successful at finding some. However, the dominant flavours are not of jackfruit but of other stuff like beans and something mashy, probably to hold it all up together like a patty. It comes with sides and hence is among the more expensive items on the vegan menu.
As it was summer we didn't stop at just food. We ordered some freshly pressed orange juice and wow, it was fresh, pressed in front of you while you wait. It tasted really good, don't forget to add some ice for some extra freshness.
Then after all the mains, there was still some space inside for dessert. There were vegan desseetts!! We couldn't have asked for more. Chocolate and orange torte! It was good. Not the most amazing but definitely good.
One downside to this place is the ordering system. It is very inefficient. The bartenders are also the ones who take orders. So the problem lies right there. Bartenders seem to make drinks as they take orders. It is not their fault. They have probably been told to do just that. But the side effect is, long queues to get food. Drinks, like food take long to make unless it is a pint of beer, in which case all they have to do it open the tap. But most people go for cocktails and they do take on an average 3-5 minutes to makw, with all the shaking and juggling and mixing. So those who want to order maybe just food, they end up waiting for all those in front of them who are awaiting drinks. Like I had to just order my dessert. It took me more than 20 minutes to get in front of the queue to place my order. Had I been able to place my order eaelier, I could have spend more time chatting with my froends, while waiting for my dessert I stead of queueing up to order.
I think separating orders from preparation will increase efficiency and that is something the management should really try and implement. read more
