There were some instructions from fallen tree limbs and trees, but they were easy to avoid and move out of the way. We got to the 1.31 mile mark and had to turn around due to a small amount of water on the trail that would have been too much to push a stroller through. We were the only ones on the trail, and it was quiet. There are lots of trails off the main trail. At the beginning, there is a porta potty and trash can, along with a map of the trails. Please notice that there is a private driveway with no trespassing signs posted. I was able to follow the main trail on AllTrails for tracking.

Bird watching and even photographing nature's finest is also great here. Large variety of plants and wildlife. The MTB trails here are mostly singletracks. It's well maintained for the most part. Great trails for beginners and for those looking to get better. The Bad: Nocatee Preserve Trail is situated in a swamp or I guess, wetlands. Some areas are low lying. At around Mile 2 or 3, some areas tend to flood or collect water especially after some hard rain, which makes it not suitable to hike nor bike towards. In light of this, expect lots of insect activities. The Ugly: During the hotter months (especially Summer months)... the bugs here can be downright vicious. Yellow flies, Horse flies, Mosquitos, amongst others, are VERY VICIOUS. There's also Ticks (I call them NocaTICKS); they give me the eebie jeebies. So make sure you bring and use Insect Repelents. As a matter of fact, just go ahead and bathe in insect repellents. There is plenty of parking, and water for horses. This trail does connect to Betz-Tiger Point Preserve. There is handicap parking and a porta potty as a restroom.

This side of the park has 3.6 miles of hiking paths, however, you can combine the path with a total of 11.5 miles of multi use trails that traverses between Pumpkin Hill Creek and three nearby city parks... I decided today without my hiking shoes on to drive a little further down and across the street to the canoe/kayak launch which also has picnic tables to enjoy my lunch! It was so serene, there were birds everywhere, and I was the only human in site or sound... I'll definitely be returning with my camelback and maybe a bonafide picnic in toe to get a better look at the trails and what FL parks have to offer...

Decided to explore Pumpkin Hill and headed to Betz - Preserve. I noticed a kayak launch and took a…read moreright turn to see how serviceable it was. It's really nice! It's an easy, and short, walk to put your kayak in the water and the river looks pretty easy to navigate. I didn't kayak, I just wanted to hangout by the water. There are picnic tables with a nice view of the river and you can also do the hiking trails that are just a few hundred feet further down the road. The kayak launch only has a porta potty but if you drive past the launch there's a full blown bathroom area near the hiking trails. It's a nice area to hangout.

This is a great place to put in your kayak for easy entrance into seven creeks, or take a nice walk along the water. be sure to prepare for ticks and chiggers before entering the park. If you consider where it actually is and the time, effort, funding and "blood, sweat & tears" put in to make this place exist, it's an incredible thing to appreciate. From what was a huge mound of trash, it is now a playground for bike riders that's fun, safe and accessible. There was one other person with dogs walking with me, and when I got back there was another person parking to walk. The trails are wide and mostly flat. There were some areas with tree roots and mud that would make pushing a stroller hard to push through. There are a lot of trails, and the option I chose on AllTrails took about an hour to walk. I liked that it wasn't crowded and I had the trails mostly to myself.

And if this place is not enough, there is a 45 minute trail right across the street. The museum holds some artifacts and tells a story worthy of your time.
