Pulled pork tacos (they are cold)
    Erin B.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The location is great, right on water. There is car and boat parking. Indoor and outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We arrived when they opened on the weekend (11am). [[HIGHLIGHT]]Outdoor tables were gross, we had to use water bottles and napkins to clear off food smudged on the table.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We placed our order at 11:05 AM, at 11:30 we were still waiting, so we went to ask for an update. Turns out they never placed our order. 11:45am we got our food. All the friend food was warm, everything else was cold. Pulled pork sandwich and the tacos were all cold. I think they would've been good if they were warm, but it just tasted gross- like cold lunch meat thrown on a bun. Super disappointing and a lowkey waste of money. Would not recommend eating here. We also came the weekend prior, around 2PM, and the food took just as long then.

    the veggie pizza

the veggies pizza here had right taste, the smoky flavour,a drizzle of the pesto sauce enhanced the over all taste.its a must try.definitely recommend it.[[HIGHLIGHT]]great place with great views in the backside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] we ordered a buffalo chicken and got a pizza with bacon,we dont eat bacon so we requested for another one but we were denied and they charged us full amount for the pizza and also said that it was mentioned right on the menu. they could have communicated better with us.

Beautiful setup they have with plenty outdoor seating and even some games like giant chess and connect 4! They often have bands come so be sure to keep your eye out for that schedule. The inside bar is a bit on the smaller side but they have plenty of different options to offer. Typical bar food too which is pretty good. Employees are nice and attentive.

    Sampler platter

Sampler platter was very meh. Greasy and under seasoned in my opinion. Selection of beer and cider, mostly local was pretty good. Service is another belly up to the bar, place your order, and wait for the buzzer to pick it up. It was very crowded and the line to get a drink was pretty slow. Good location for relaxing and people watching if you can find a shady spot. Opportunity to play cornhole. Not worth a stand alone trip, but worth a visit if the crowd is not to large.

Great for big parties and families with kids! We went on a Friday night with 9 kids and 10 adults and there was plenty of seating, games, a bounce house and live music. Food is mostly fried so good for apps and Drinks but maybe not dinner!

Good beer and friendly service! They have an array of selections and the locals are friendly. The service staff are pleasant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is clean and the outside is lovely.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Came here with a lovely group of ladies during our weekend getaway. Inside houses a number of games that can be played with your party. There is also a lovely outdoor space on the water, and if you're lucky you can snag a spot with a fire pit on a cold day/night. We happened to be there the same day as the boat parade and Santa, so the place began to fill very quickly as the sun started to go down. The line for drinks became long, but went fast. Try the gingerbread old fashioned before the season ends - if you love ginger, then you'll love this drink!

I love this place, so peaceful to stop and have a beer and they have wine, we also had the pork nachos, so good. They have corn hole, connect four and a little putting green. The staff was so friendly and helpful

    Adirondack chair seating.
    Joel K.

Wanted to get out of the house on a nice day, do we made the short drive out. Good beer, comfortable chairs in a nice sitting area overlooking the marina. Adirondack chairs, regular tables and chairs, high tops. Something for everyone. Good apps. Had the pretzel, potato tornado and the sampler. All quick and all good. Games for kids and agility's alike. Kid and dog friendly. Definitely recommend and definitely coming back!

Just tried it on a Saturday afternoon and Patch Brewery is now on our list as a go to place. Not…read morethe Ritz, but for me, this place is how I like it. The beer, wine (by the bottle at the outside bar if you prefer), ciders, mixed drinks and food were great. No leftovers from us. Plenty to do inside and out with games, baseball and dog fields, at least two playgrounds, horseshoes and cornhole and... This place is pretty big. Even had a farmers market going on next to the parking lot. A clean place both inside and out offering tasty beverages and food from friendly staff. Order at the bar and pickup outside when the ringer/thingy goes off. Patrons where a mixed bag of young & old, some with kids and dogs with boundary fencing separating groups of tables. They do have an area separate from the rest for adults only on the other side of the outside bar. A little rough looking in spots like a place you might see in a marina environment or old bowling alley but kept up well, clean and very well appointed. Parking was a breeze.

I really would recommend a non-ipa beer "Chesterfield Secret Voyage", which has a high alcohol content. It was a nice smooth drinking malty brew! The staff at the counter were friendly and knowledgeable. We tried several sandwiches. Enjoyed the fried Chicken sandwiches which came with a side. We got the onion rings. Each sandwich was $13 which we felt was a bit overpriced but the food was good. The hot dog is $8 plus $1.50 for chili and cheese plus another $.50 for a tiny sprinkle of onions. The bun was hard and broken. Wife felt that she should have returned it and was way overpriced. The inside beer area was clean and roomy but very loud. They have a few arcade games and the kids were screaming.

Kardinal Hall hits that perfect Charlottesville sweet spot: great food, great beer, great people,…read moreand a space that feels both fun and thoughtfully designed. My Wahoo daughter brought me here during Family Weekend, and now I totally get why this place is a UVA favorite. The building itself is part of a beautifully restored historic industrial complex off Preston Avenue. It's an adaptive-reuse space (formerly part of the old Coca-Cola bottling works), and the design keeps that industrial character alive: tall ceilings, exposed materials, and a layout that feels open, social, and easygoing. The outdoor area is especially smartly done. They've got roll-down fabric walls and overhead heat lamps that keep the patio comfortable even when the temperature dips. It's basically an all-weather beer-garden vibe, and it works. Here's how our meal went down: * Shared starter: the Jumbo Bavarian Pretzel. Warm, soft, perfectly salted, and killer with both the mustard and the cheese sauce. * My entrée: the Local Steak Salad -- gorgeous presentation, tender grass-fed beef, and those pickled turnips, radish slices, and greens in herb buttermilk dressing absolutely tied it together. * My daughter's entrée: Bratwurst, which disappeared quickly, so that tells you what you need to know. Service setup is counter-service for food with table drop-off, and drinks are ordered directly at the bar. It's efficient, friendly, and gives the whole place an easygoing "European beer hall meets Charlottesville neighborhood spot" feel. Kardinal Hall is one of those places where good food, good architecture, and good energy all line up. If you're in town -- especially visiting UVA -- this is a must-stop.
