Service is another belly up to the bar, place your order, and wait for the buzzer to pick it up. It was very crowded and the line to get a drink was pretty slow. Every time I come to Lake Anna, my family and I stop by and enjoy some beers here. And every time, I have a pretty fun time. So the low overall rating surprises me; I noticed lots of complaints about rude staff, but I haven't experienced it. They've all been super friendly and chatty and helpful. I also have only been during the day, and we've never really had much/any food there. Just day-drinking beer time. :-) The set up is very nice. We typically arrive by boat and dock easily. You walk up through a nice sized area with seating, live music, games, etc. Inside is like most breweries where you go up to the bar and order. They always have a great selection of beers and seasonal offerings too. Last time I was there, I also had a seasonal cocktail which was delicious! I've been going to Lake Anna with friends for many years but this is the first time we checked out the tap house. We stopped in both for just beers and then beers and dinner and I am so glad we did! The outside area is great, with plenty of tables, lawn games and dogs allowed. We loved the live music and the tap list, which was focused on Virginia and very extensive. The flatbreads were generously sized as were the appetizers. You do have to pick up your own food, and staff could be more helpful find utensils and condiments. We asked if they'd light the larger fire pit for us since the table fires and propane heaters were all empty, but they said no.
