    Bison herd in Yellowstone.

We have rented and owned condos here almost 20 years. There is no better lodging for a reasonable price anywhere at Big Sky. And the skiing is like Jackson Hole but no lines. We love it.

We had a great vacation in Big Sky! We own Bluegreen points and it's next to impossible to get a week here normally. When a week popped up we jumped at the chance to go. End of October is a little late in the season. It was getting cold and there was a ton of snow when we got there, but it had melted by midweek. The resort isn't super big. It was very hard to find in the dark in the middle of the night. I wish we had gotten better directions. They left our key in a lock box so we had a no contact checking. We actually saw no staff the entire week. It wasn't too busy the whole week. They have a nice HEATED pool and two large hot tubs. It's a pretty chilly walk back, but it was so nice sitting in the hot water surrounded by snow. They have a nice lake out front and it's just beautiful in that area. The things in the area were mostly closed for a number of weeks till Ski Season started. The condo was very clean and comfortable. Ours had two bedrooms and there were beautiful views from every window. We had two patios, one from the master bedroom and then also off the living area with a grill! There is a fireplace that was nice. It was gas or electric. You just flipped the switch. The heat took a bit to get used to! There are thermostats everywhere for floor units. It was freezing when we got there at like 1am. The kitchen is well stocked. They even left us wipes and hand sanitizer! They had cleaning supplies and also even aluminum foil. The odd thing was they didn't supply shampoo. But we knew before going. I usually bring my own anyway, but since everything was so stocked it was odd. We were gone all day pretty much everyday. Yellowstone is an hour away. We loved visiting the park. We also drove to Jackson Hole and did Grand Tetons. Next time we would stay up that way. It was 3 hours each way. We were lucky to get a week and I really want to go back! It's very clean and comfortable and it had a lot of space.

Sunrise view of Lone Mountain from our bedroom - so beautiful!

The staff said our reservation was canceled, which was never communicated to us, and we had no transportation to get anywhere else in the -10° weather. The manager kept repeating herself about saying it was members only (although that wasn't said on Resi), and tried to say there was a shuttle running into town, but there isn't after 5:35. There were 3-5 tables taken and plenty of tables open to seat anyone, and they wouldn't accommodate us with carry out or any food, and asked us to leave after saying that without being empathetic to any degree. How can you stay at a community and not be able to eat at the lodge? Also, they didn't allow credit cards? How is that acceptable in today's age?

We love the Saddle Ridge area for a few reasons: ski in ski out steps to the Moonlight Lodge pool workout facilities dining full bar spa quiet safe We actually ski Big Sky instead of Moonlight, but love being up at Moonlight because of the staff and amenities. If you are looking for an active nightlife, you are probably better served staying in Big Sky village. If you are looking for great skiing, buy an all mountain pass and explore. The Headwaters area is great.

BEWARE: Canceled Holiday Booking Raises Serious Questions About Transparency…read more Our group of 16 is now out nearly $14,000 extra because Natural Retreats canceled our confirmed Christmas booking with just two months' notice. While that's bad enough, the real issue for future travelers is the company's troubling lack of transparency. We were told the house was "sold." This isn't something that happens overnight. It leaves you with serious questions: - Did they know the property was on the market when they took our money and confirmed our booking? - Why did they fail to protect our confirmed reservation as a condition of the sale? - When we were left scrambling, why did they refuse to help cover the massive price difference for their other properties, or even make a small exception on a 5-night minimum to help us out? The entire experience felt less like an unfortunate situation and more like a calculated business decision where our family vacation was deemed acceptable collateral damage. My advice to other travelers: Before you book, ask them directly if your property is for sale and what happens if they cancel on you. Because a "confirmed" booking with this company might not mean what you think it does. If you are booking a trip that involves non-refundable flights, I would seriously reconsider.

Also, the booking process and the people that are helping with all of the details along the way do a fantastic job. I highly recommend using NR while you're here and/or wherever they may have a footprint.
