We loooved staying in a cabin here. We were on the small lake. It had a wonderful covered patio. They had several events that weekend- movie night, a charity fundraiser pancake breakfast and live music. We rented a fire pit and got wood and fire starters at the KOA store. The cabin is spacious with two bedrooms and a huge living room-kitchen area. Some cabins allow dogs so we brought our sweet dog. He loved laying on the patio looking at all of the birds. The only con was the "queen bed" was a little small For two people. Felt more like a "full bed". Staff was very friendly and super helpful. We will come back in the fall. By the way, Tony's Italian Deli down the street has THE BEST sandwiches I have ever had. You must try it. Delicious!!! read more

This s a complete waste of time! It was a ghost town and I literally didn't feel safe to the point I got up at 3 a.m. the next morning to leave. There is no security gate or security guard(not that I saw) Anyone can just walk in and roam free. Totally a different vibe than the San Antonio location. Staff was meh! Not that friendly. DO NOT STAY HERE UNTIL ALLEY BRAVO IS GONE! Alley Bravo is the absolute worst Property Manager ever seen. We were there 4yrs last 2 yrs she has brought the entire park down. Witnessed multiple occasions where she demoralized employees in front of customers. She picks and chooses favorite guest to give cheaper rates to. She tried to Parent our minor child without our consent we won't ever return because of her. Three other sites left with us for similar reasons. This could be a good RV campground without her running it. Also when hooked to sewer you have to keep your tanks closed or their sewer will back flow into your camper. You also have to endure their shitty lawn crew that never comes until your grass is so high it looks like a shit show, you will have to do it yourself. In addition to if you ask for a corporate number they will not give it too you. KOA franchise all complaints go back to Alley and her God like complex. Oh if your kids play at the pool be prepared for Marshall Alley law they will call cops on them for having too much fun. (Like making tacos). No joke smh. read more

We came to Montgomery KOA to stay in our travel trailer after pulling it across country. We have stayed in camp grounds from coast to coast and this is the best experience. Andy and Brooke in the office are always ready to help us with every process. They are very accommodating. Our dog loves them so we know they are good people. She gets a treat every time she visits the front office. Michelle and her small crew do an amazing job of keeping everything clean from the bath houses to the cabins. Jay runs a tight ship and he let us borrow an extension cord to get a tree trimmed when we first set up our RV spot. All of the maintenance people have been very helpful. At this KOA they aim to keep their campers happy with Bobbie running special events for families and water aerobics too. We appreciate that it is patrolled well to make sure it is a safe location. I love this park. We have been here for a while now. The grounds are beautiful and the staff was really friendly. This has recently been bought by a Thousand Trails and I truly hope it does not change too dramatically. There have been some changes already, but they haven't necessarily been horrible changes. Hope to keep that positive mindset going and continue to see a fun community for RVers. Usually there are events on Saturdays for the little ones, train rides, crafts, ice cream socials, we will see if that continues under Thousand Trails. My grandkids love it out here, and I would definitely like to be able to continue to suggest and praise this park. read more

We went in the winter and stayed in a cabin that allowed our 2 dogs. We really enjoyed it. The cabin had everything we needed and more to be comfortable. It was very clean, neat, and well taken care of. We did not use the amenities because the weather was cold, but we really enjoyed being able to get away for the weekend with our fur-babies. The only concern we had was about a dog we saw running around without a leash. We think the owner was someone who was working on a cabin close to the one we were staying in. This made us a bit on edge. We had already had a terrible experience when walking our dogs somewhere else (NOT KOA) and one of our dogs was attacked by an unaccompanied dog. We have reservations to come back to this location three more times, and hopefully all dogs will be on leashes. read more

Nice Park! Horrible Staff!!! The Place was beautiful and clean, and as always the RV community is fun and friendly. But the Staff and Management of the location is NOT TO KOA STANDARDS. To start, we attempted to call the place because we were running behind and could never get anyone on the phone. (During our Stay we tried to call a few time and not one ever picked up the phone) When I arrived, I asked the Cashier about moving spot to a lake view and if there was one available. She said yes, and I asked was there an extra charge which she responded "I Don't Know" then tells me my total was $91 and asks me to sign. No knowing what happened to the conversation we had about moving I signed. She gave me a spot number, and a guy helps us find the location which was a lake spot. I after hooking up I look at my email receipt, and I was charge 51 a night and not the original 47. It was no big deal, but I would have like to had known my rate was changing before I signed. I wish it would end there, but it did not. I have a few other items about the staff, but I'll list them at the end. I got a feedback email at the end of our stay that I expressed my concern on how they did not inform me of the rate change before me paying. I then received an email from a person I believe is the manager named Pat C. This person is by far the worst customer support person I have ever worked with. She even responds to one of my emails as mic dropped clearly Pat does not care about customer feedback she wanted to argue the whole time trying to blame me. Other staff issues: Office locked during open hours No managing the phone for questions Employee smoking at the kid's playground (while BBQ) Staff screaming at a customer when he started to washing his RV (this is against the rules) Location Issue: Wifi is broken in park (Wish I knew this beforehand, Should be posted on website) Ant Problem (Our site was covered with ants and our 2-year-old got a lot of bites) Please treat park Overall I would have given this a 4-star review if not for the Staff and Pat C really needs some customer service training. This is the worst KOA we have experienced. Wifi does not work and the cable is fuzzy. Checked in on a Wednesday...the next day we asked if we could be moved. Sorry campsite is full???? As of today...Sunday morning...the spots we wanted to move to are EMPTY! The washrooms/showers across from our site 91 never appear to be cleaned. Big dirt shoe prints in the disabled shower...disgusting! Would not recommend this campsite...definitely not KOA standards. read more

I agree with Ryan G below about the customer service stinking. What would otherwise be a nice KOA park, is bad because of the staff. They never answered my calls either. What's worse is that I asked my mother to bring us some ice during a short visit with us. She checked in up front, as requested. She told them she was bringing us some ice and was given directions to our site. On her way back, she was stopped and told she could not come back, regardless of what the front desk told her. They were rude enough to make her leave altogether. When I found this out, I went to the front and was passed off to Pat C. also. I was expecting an apology or decent explanation. When I told her how my mother was confronted with rudeness, she smirked and said, "she must have tried to drive back there." Seriously? This is my 66-year old mother who just wanted to see her grandson. I've NEVER had any problems with visitors at other KOA campgrounds. We will pay for their wristbands, car passes, etc. I told the desk when I checked in that I was expecting visitors over the weekend! All I was told is that I needed to get them a car pass and wristbands. read more

I made reservation for Lake Conroe KOA. I ask for late check out time for around 5 PM. After my reservation was made I received an email stating that any RV/Rig left on the property after 3 o'clock is considered an extra day is charged. Which that's perfectly understandable and I agreed to pay if I wasn't out of there by 3 o'clock. About 11:45 AM the day of checkout, I was at M.D. Anderson in Houston at a doctors appointment with my wife when my phone starts ringing in the middle of the appointment. It was the manager of KOA calling to inform me that I would have to pay five dollars an hour after 12 o'clock if I wasn't out of there Rv Park. It's not the money that bothered me it's the way they went about it pretty chickenshit. There were a total of four RVs in the whole area that we were in and there is probably more than 100 locations that people had room to park Rv. The management there are going to make sure they get every nickel and dime they can out of you... very poorly managed. Not near KOA standards! Will definitely not be back! read more

We have visited this park a couple of times. The first thing I noticed was there are very few trees. We were put in this ridiculous spot where we barely had enough space to walk into our camper. There was a table but other than that we couldn't do much in our reserved space. All concrete a few bushes. Really shouldn't be a camping spot. No trees, hot as heck. The kicker was that I was not offered a different spot and there were several spots open. Since we were Covid 19 sensitive, there were zero activities however, people were not social distancing either. The staff were very nice and the park was clean. I don't know about the bathrooms but the store was closed and we were checking in outside...understandably. I wish I had taken a picture. Just stunk. read more

This is the first place we have been to with our new camper. We went for Memorial Day 3 day weekend and we loved it! We have 3 kids and 2 dogs (who are large), and it was very comfortable for everyone. The pool was nice and my girls spent hours swimming. The spaces aren't to cramped and everyone seemed respectful of each other. It wasn't over crowded and the staff were really friendly. I just hope they get the store in the felt done soon. Other than that, everything was great. We will definitely be going back! read more

Beautiful place, to retreat, have family reunions or just go to relax! Had I not been working and visiting on an invite, I would have never known this campground exist. We did not get to visit all the amenities of the park, but we did get to go into the biggest meeting hall that they have available for gatherings. It was nice, spacious, and very clean, parking was feasible and grounds are very open, staff was super friendly and even came a guided us to the location of the sorority meeting. Will definitely return for a visit to receive a full and complete view and welcoming of the grounds. read more

This KOA is a great place to take your family if you want to go on lake Conroe. Lake Conroe is not far from this park. Positives: They have a indoor heated pool and spa with a big slide so it is a great place to go even if its cold weather. Fishing on KOA campgrounds(not Lake Conroe)-my son caught 25 fish in two days. I caught a few big catfishes on their lake. We had a lot of fun. Kids- They had a lot of play areas and activities Location- very close to Walmart and any other resources needed. Bathrooms were not bad. Negatives: Very close to the highway. Could hear trucks and emergency vehicles throughout the stay. Not many trees. It is a campground that is more in the city than in the country. Overall this would be a campground we would come back to if it was in the cold or we wanted to be close to Lake Conroe. It is not good for nature walks or trails. It is a nice facility and staff was great. read more

Great dog park! This location has everything you need and is well maintained. The lake is pretty and ducks and cranes are attracted to it. The swimming pool and jacuzzi are nice. The boardwalk and gazebo over the lake is lovely. Dropped a star because the bathrooms have lots of bugs, the slide for the swimming pool has no water so makes it hard to use, they don't have fishing poles to rent even though the lake is stocked. Would stay again if in the area, this place is huge and seems to have openings available at any given time. read more

We recently attended a rally at this KOA. With more than a year in planning the coordinators were met with challenge after challenge with the management team at the KOA... they gave 16 or our reserved sites away to other campers causing a logistical mess to clear up. These were people that had planned for this rally - traveling from all corners of the US to join in... I understand some were placed in "storage' areas until a site came available. The bad part is the KOA Team could not have cared less! It was just - Tough $@#)!! read more

I am giving this business three stars only because the general manager promptly offered us a refund for one night's stay upon our request AND told us if we ever wanted to try the campground again, to call him personally and he would ensure our stay was enjoyable. Frankly, the stay rates at 1.5; 2 star experience at best. My family visited the Lake Conroe/North Houston KOA for New Year's Eve 2012. After spending last year at the KOA in Kerville, we were looking very forward to another wonderful family trip. Sadly, this was not the case. We were badly misled about what amenities the cabin offered- including the 13-inch television with no cable and no remote control; versus the flat screen with cable that was described on the website. This would have been fine, IF the Club House had actually had the television that was advertised on the website. As well the kitchens (we had two cabins and I will get to why in just a moment) were woefully understocked. When I called and spoke with an attendant, I asked her what I needed to bring in the way of supplies and was told "only your suitcase"- it would have been helpful to learn that I should have also brought pot and pans, paper towels and coffee filters (of which there were none), my own cleaning supplies to clean up after meals, my own dust pan to sweep up and my own rags to wash dishes, as we were only provided one. And perhaps my coffee maker, as the one in cabin 23 took about an hour and half to make a full pot of coffee. THEN there was the issue of the exploding toilet in our first cabin. After we were all settled in, the hose on the toilet came off flooding the cabin and drenching me in the process. We were moved to another cabin, but the staff was very difficult in accommodating us in that we requested that we be moved to cabin with a fire ring nearby- we were told no, that someone was going to occupy that cabin. Turns out this person was only in town for an overnight event; simply slept there for a few hours and left very early the next day. I am not sure I understand why that individual could not have been moved to the second cabin we got. All of this might have been bearable were it not for the attitude of the staff. From the moment we arrived they acted as though we were an imposition to them. Then, after the toilet exploded we were not offered any apology nor were we offered any assistance in moving our belongs to the other cabin. As the result of this, our New Year's weekend was not nearly as much fun as we wanted it to be and we were, frankly, all very ready to leave on Monday morning. Due to our experience here, we are unsure whether or not we plan to return; however the response from the manager to our complaints makes that a much higher probability than if our issues had been ignored. read more

We absolutely love this campground. It is one of our "go-to" campgrounds for a weekend getaway. Staff is always friendly and willing to help. RV spots are nice and can easily accommodate 2 vehicles per site. My 3 year old loves the kid activities, such as a train ride, swings, and the jump pillow. The swimming pool is always clean. The dog parks are kept up nice. We always have a great time here. read more

Thiers nothing in this park that is advertised. The wifi does not work. Non-campers use the pool and park. The staff will run over your hoses with lawn mowers and Mott tell you. I will never stay here again and will advise everyone to find a different place. The front desk employees are good but the gm and his family are rude and unhelpful. The park grounds are very clean, no trash, with a beautiful lake, plus other amenities, says the brochure, we are here for Hurricane Harvey recovery so long hard days but very full-filling for the mind & soul, but a full 5 stars would be earned if the people running the property were a bit more friendly, and they knew how to clean the bathroom and shower areas, hair on the floor, old dried out soap bars, over flowing trash receptacles, & could def use a fresh coat of paint , this is my 1st visit to KOA, and probably my last, i know we have them in Va but this one in Montgomery, Tx, is, well horrible, this crew of 7 is moving to hotel tomorrow, with cleaner showers, and hopefully friendlier people, i am not impressed with KOA read more

We loved the campground and pool area! It was our second stay and the lakes were clean, bathrooms were clean, and easy check in!

Went with friends and family for spring break. Used cabin and tent site. Liked the jumping pillow and other recreations, but LOVED the indoor/outdoor pool that was heated (thank you koa!!). Liked the craft area. We painted ceramics and made candles. Ran out of time- and can't wait to return. read more

We arrived at 6:15pm, but apparently the office closes early. Fortunately, they had information on after hours rentals so we could find a spot for the night. Although the site was listed as "full service" we couldn't find a cable tv hookup and there was no information posted on the WiFi password. The showers were locked up, but my husband found a stealth entry...however, water pressure was poor and water was luke warm at best. The pull through site for our 36' motorhome was ok, but there were no trees or landscaping at all and really not much better than just a parking lot with power and water hookups. When we left the next morning, the office was still closed at 9:30am... so not sure when/if there is actually anybody there. This spot was just ok, not sure we'd stay here again. I'm being generous by placing one star due to the fact that my family still had an great time regardless of what happened during our time of stay. However, I will say the staff can be extremely rude, and a bit prejudice towards their guest. So if your looking for a SAFE family friendly place as well as pet friendly regardless of what the business may bring you to believe....I DO NOT recommend KOA. Also, if you choose to go take pictures of your camp ground or else they will try to say you left your area dirty and charge you for it!!!!!There are more places in Conroe that are nicer with better accommodations. As for my family, and several other families we will no longer be back to this location, and have even brought the incidents that occurred to the attention of corporate. ***update corporate has apologized to my family for the events that occurred. However, the management at the Conroe location has denied to apologize or acknowledge their part in the actions that occurred. read more

the staff is very rude and there is zero flexibility. they made us move our trailer and we were compliant after moving it from our campsite to where they wanted us to we woke up it had been stolen and they did nothing to help. also the latest time we visited the staff was really rude as we were leaving the pool a staff member was upset because we were 3 min past the time the pool closed so as we were getting ready to leave he started to flash the lights at us in order to speed us up. i understand there are rule for a reason and need to be enforced, but there is no reason to be rude when enforcing them. 4 days before Christmas and this was part of our family Christmas and people are so rude. read more
