The physicians, if you can get in to see one, are terrific. However, the University Hospital system has turned out to be bureaucracy at its worst. First, their front desk staff are rude and overzealous. If you are ill, you can be expected to wait 2 months for the next available appointment or go to an urgent care, when your physician might have squeezed you in. The scheduling only seems to allow for well-patient visits. This may be because UH requires that each visit last only for 15 minutes, putting pressure on physicians to be caring, accurate, and able to diagnose and treat every single thing in 15 minutes. This is not the fault of the practitioners, but rather the system. And is reflected in UH's low abysmal ratings. But really, the front desk staff is reliably awful at this location. read more

This place has been trending down of late. First started off with Dr Kucera who wasn't great but served the purpose. Then handed to Kristen Biddell who was great. but left. I arrive today some tall nurse puts in the room and take my Blood pressure, Decent so far 30 minutes pass and NOONE comes to notify me. FUCK THIS PLACE. Everything from check-in to the visit with Dr Brown to setting up the follow-up visit went smoothly. Dr Brown spent all the time needed answering my questions; in fact, when I had a non-urgent question that I submitted through the portal, she responded kindly and more promptly than I expected. All the staff, from receptionists to medical assistants, were great. read more

Zero stars if possible. Had a virtual apt that was a total joke. Doc was distracted and it was a total of 2 minutes. I called for a 'real' apt (explaining the virtual one was not sufficient) and was berated in the docs office and told my health was in her hands, it was her way or I could go somewhere else. I tried to explain this to her supervisor, who didn't seem to care about the issue. And I got billed for both appointments! Tried calling the number listed on the bill, and got some call center who knows nothing. They transferred me to a supervisor who's voicemail was "Jose is at home... beep". Not very professional. They finally told me I had to contact the docs office to get anything resolved, and when I call there they don't answer - they have a recording to call the other (Jose) number again. read more

I've never had a bad experience here and I'm wondering if those giving lower reviews are going in with overly-excessive expectations or don't know how to properly give a review as a doctor switching practices is not synonymous with being lied to. Complaining about a doctor you CHOSE to consistently see despite being dissatisfied is something YOU could have changed yourself (and you could have reported her to a superior). Hinting at poor treatment without giving any real details isn't actually helpful. These sound like they were given by disgruntled customers who probably gave the staff a hard time for something that was either their responsibility or was completely out of the staff's control. I've gone here for the past few years for both primary care and obgyn services and every doctor I've seen has been wonderful. I've seen Dr. Jennifer Velotta, Dr. Alison Stalzer from Lake OB and Dr. Lucy Sason and Dr. Jordan Smith from LCFP for everything from basic exams to random pains/bodily issues to minor surgeries and I'll be new to seeing Dr. Courtney Riggans on Monday. They've all been nothing short of fantastic and caring. They listen to everything I have to say before jumping to conclusions, they never speak to me in a condescending manner, and the secretarial staff meets the same level. They have no problem helping to work around my schedule and answer whatever questions I have. I'll recommend them every time. read more

Dr. Lopez was initially my doctor. No bedside manner, doesn't want to take the time to actually figure out what is wrong. Will do standard blood tests and that's it. I was a new patient and went in with a list of issues, after I left the exam room and was waiting for my daughter outside the bathroom, the nurse I saw was speaking poorly about me to Dr. Lopez. Making jokes, rolling her eyes, and making light of my situation until she realized I was standing within earshot. We stayed with the office and have seen several other doctors. No one giving me any sort of relief from chronic symptoms. If they can't figure it out within the 15 minute appointment, you're out of luck! Their best doctor left and open his own practice. And now their best nurse practitioner has left to join him. Courtney was the saving grace of that office. Now that she's gone I'll be looking for a new office. I've been coming to see Dr. Taylor here at Lake Family Practice since I was a wee little Cara. Honestly, I can't say I would ever consider going to someone or somewhere else unless I was forced to. These folks are beyond caring and nice. They're always busy but can always get you in with a day or two, sometimes within hours! And yes, I will drive all the way from Ohio City to go see my favorite doctor all the way in Mentor. It's well worth the 35 minute drive. And yes, I do realize that folks are bringing their families here. But hey, I'm 26 and I'm sitting in the waiting room with all the little kids--I don't care. My parents and my sister still come here, too! You don't have to be a baby to come to a family practice, you know. I also love that I have a medical professional familiar with the health history of not only myself, but my family as well. I know I can come in with questions and get all the answers I need. I also know that Dr Taylor accepts and realizes my ridiculous hypochondria and worry. *Sigh* I almost feel like he deserves a metal for dealing with me. But he's always smiling and nice, so I don't think he minds too much. Anyways, if you're looking for a great family doctor, try looking here at Lake County Family Practice. I have been going to Lake County family practice for close to 15 years. My doctor is Danielle Cooper and I would never never see another doctor. She is the best physician you'll ever find no matter how hard you try. She is extremely nice and has a wonderful sense of humor. Her staff are extremely friendly And very nice to you no matter what the situation or when you come in there. Unless I was forced I would never change my doctor. I even was sick one time and she showed up at my house. I just recently saw her on a TV commercial for Lake Health So I think she has a big head now Ha ha ha (just kidding) in all sincerity if you're looking for a wonderful doctor you need to go see Dr. Danielle Cooper she is the best physician around hands-down read more

I am officially done with anything having to do with Lake Health. I had a great doctor, Dr. Margaret Apostol, at this practice, and then one day, I called for an appointment, and they told me she had moved out of state. So, I began seeing another doctor there who I did not like as well. Some time later, I googled my old doctor and found out she's right up the road! So, if you used to see Dr. Apostol at LFP and were she'd left town, that was a lie. She's at Concord Family Medicine now. 440-358-5440. Poor care , and patient bullying are business as usual , look around and check other reviews . At some point someone has to see the negative reviews are abnormally disproportionate to the thousands of other medical practices out there. It's not 1 or 2 it's a lot . Think before you choose this practice and ask if it's worth it with so many others with so many more good reviews . read more

I love Jay Taylor. I love Danielle Cooper. The incompetence of the administration staff is making me search desperately for another provider. I've been trying for over a week to get a simple RX refill as I wait to get in to see my Doc (an appointment I have to book 3 weeks in advance). Between the "please hold" treatment which leads to me getting disconnected, the "your Dr. isn't here but someone else will sign off (and no one signs off on it)," and the "we didn't know you needed sign off from you insurance company" nonsense, I haven't gotten my meds yet and my anxiety is at an all-time high because it's a mental health pill I'm waiting on. On top of that some of the people who staff the phones are rude and condescending when you have an issue. I need to find a new prescriber ASAP! read more

A couple of years back, I found myself with a broken hand and no idea where to go after the urgent care visit. I did a little research online, and LCFP seemed like the place to go. I ended up with Dr. Komar, who's my kind of doctor. He's got a bit of a sense of humor, and he's no nonsense and experienced. I am not a big fan of doctors in general, but Dr. Komar is the man I trust to fix me up when I get injured or sick (other than that, I'm a pretty healthy guy). He set my hand in a brace and I have almost full movement because of his expertise (They suggested a cast, but I couldn't do so because of my job), he diagnosed my stomach infection (Thanks, Taco Bell) and had me better in a week, and removed 19 staples from my leg while chatting about how I was doing in school. Heck, he even let me keep the staples. If I ever saw Dr. Komar hanging out at a bar, I'd buy that man a beer. If I were to mount an expedition to Mt. Everest, I'd ask him to be our physician. Hell, if I have a kid, I'll ask him to do the circumcision. In short, highly recommended. read more

Dr. Danielle Cooper is a brilliant, amazing physician. I am a 35 year UH nurse and my standards are very high. Dr. Cooper is always spot on with her diagnosis and treatments. She is very accommodating and very kind. Her MA Laura is also excellent. My family will remain with LCFP and Dr. Cooper. Nothing but gratitude and respect for them. read more

I am so done with this place. I don't go to the doctor very often, but I saw Sue Hollobaugh here for a few years when needed and was never satisfied. Every time I had an ailment she blew it off and suggested I take a Tai-Chi class that she teaches. I found it very unprofessional that she's pushing her personal business on her patients. I asked to see a different provider at the office and was told by the office manager (who was quite rude) that I would have to have an appointment with Sue to discuss why I wanted to see someone else, then Sue would have to talk to another doctor to see if it was verified, then I would have to have a meeting with the both of them to discuss my concerns, then they would make a decision. I would have to pay for all of these appointments! They bill like crazy for everything and I have had my insurance dispute charges several times. Each time it seems that the office had made a billing error. I'm glad I pay attention to my bills and wonder how many other "errors" were made to their benefit. When I asked for a printout of some lab work results all I got was a statement that read "the results of your lab work were ok", signed by Sue. Seriously that's all it said! I found another doctor and was talking about my terrible experiences at LCFP. The new office said they have gotten a lot of former LCFP patients with similar experiences. Avoid this place if you can! read more

Lake County Family Practice will find a way to charge you for all your wellness visits. If the doctor asks you how you are doing - Don't Answer, LCFP will charge you. If the doctor asks you about other conditions you may have - Don't Answer, LCFP will charge you. If you want to ask the doctor a question - Don't LCFP will charge you. It is pitiful that you cannot discuss how you are feeling with your doctor at a Wellness visit without being charged. I would suggest you wear a gag during your Wellness visit, it is probably the only way you won't get charged. read more
