Ricky's Boat Rental is THE place to go if you need a boat rental at Lake Fork. Jackie was so nice and accommodating with setting up our reservation. She answered all of my questions and made everything so easy and seamless. We originally planned to do a one day rental, but for $50 more, we extended our rental time for an extra night. We got our boat launched off on Friday evening and returned the boat the following day. Chris was great with launching the boat. He answered all of our questions thoroughly and gave us great insight with regards to the best fishing spots around. When we told Chris that we were staying at Pope's Landing, he said, "oh you don't even need a boat if you're staying there." Boy, was Chris right! We caught several bass just fishing off the docks. Saturday morning, we were having a few problems with the trolling motor. We called Ricky's boat rental and Chris came out within 30 minutes and got us going on the water within 15 minutes. Chris even offered us to switch boats if we wanted. Everything from setting up the boat, to launching, to troubleshooting, and to point us to the best fishing spots, Ricky's Boat Rental is fantastic. Went out for a birthday trip on the 19 ' bass boat which was supposed to be from 8-5 pm. When you book an email gets sent that says to arrive 15 minutes early for convenience, when we arrived at 7:45 we were told that our boat wasn't here yet but we still had to go in and pay. After 45 minutes we were told that it would be another 30 minutes and if the boat wasn't here we would get "A way cooler boat with better equipment." That boat turned out to be the cheaper, worse option but nevertheless we got the boat we paid for and got it to the ramp. The dude was nice and spent another 30 minutes trying to get the motor to start but as we were about to get on the water he made some unprofessional comments about us which were no where near to true just because we wanted to fish different spots and use a bigger glide bait that he didn't directly recommend however the whole business isn't professional so that isn't surprising. Finally we made it out on the water just to learn that he took one of the two screen off just because and also took the transducer which is what makes live scope work for anyone who doesn't know so we were met with that challenge which wasn't to bad but just the fact we didn't get what we paid for. Around 2 hours into our trip and a bad bite so far we were going to move to a new spot and we found that our main motor would only go backward due to some bracket disconnect which was not our fault. after spending an hour trolling to the nearest ramp and another 30 minute repair we were ready to go out and try to find some bite. That ended quickly when we moved just to the second spot after the repair(15 minutes after) and we were going to go just across a cove when our motor completely broke not letting us go forward or backwards for the same reason as before which he apparently "Fixed to a tee." we gave him multiple calls with no answer then the office, nothing either so we attempted to troll to the nearest ramp which ended with a dead trolling motor battery halfway there and us drifting to a random bank basically stranded for 1.5 hours till we tried to call with a different number and were picked up immediately and the owner was " on the way soon." After another hour wait we called off the original phone to no response however we were thinking he was ghosting us so 10 seconds later we grabbed a friends phone and he answered immediately thinking it was a new client. He said he had forgotten which is absolutely crazy to me that someone could say that but nonetheless he was there 30 minutes later even though it is a 5 minute drive. in that 30 minutes though we looked to see what else was missing from the boat so the picture below are the "Best condition storage and highly maintained live well." Anyway after we got picked up and 6 out of our 9 hour trip waisted and no fish caught which is the only thing which isn't fully there fault we got dropped off at our truck and when we asked for a 50% discount because we didn't get half of what we paid for he said "yeah yeah sure whatever" after 5 minutes of arguing and now we have basically been completely ghosted on all three numbers. Overall this place seems to have some good reviews but I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting a guide instead or literally anything that isn't this crappy business the literal only thing they have is that the guys are at least nice and they are somehow the only retal place around. read more

Brandon was great to work with. He was very helpful and friendly and he was happy to help with anything that came up while renting his boats. He knew a lot about the lake and had lots of tips with regards to fishing on Lake Fork. The boats were in good shape which helped to provide a relaxing trip. Was told day rental was from 8 AM to 5 PM, got it scheduled two months in advance and we still had no boat the day of. First it began as "running late" at 9:30. I understood as things do happen, but as the day kept going they ignored all calls and texts until 1pm when they proceeded to tell me they won't be able to rent us out a boat. If you rent with them, don't use cash! They'll keep your money without providing a service. The pontoon we rented worked for 20 mins and never cranked again. We were never refunded and ignored. read more

You could improve everything! From customer service, or should I say lack of customer service. Me and my buddy drove from St. Louis to lake fork for the weekend and we had a fishing guide Saturday (which is a whole other horrible experience) and was supposed to have the rental boat at popes landing at 5pm. Which was when the guided trip was over. Well, no boat. So we call, and call, and call with no answer. Got online and found out they are open until 6pm on Saturday's. So we drove up there and no one was there. So we got back on the website and found their 24 emergency contact.. let me tell ya how that went. We called him about 15 times before he finally answered. Only to tell us they had an emergency with another boat and we had to go pick it up at lake fork marina. Not a big deal. We get the boat and it's got packing tape holding the trolling motor together and the windshield is also held together with some type of tape. The throttle too. Not very impressed. So we take the boat out Saturday night for maybe an hour get it back no problems. Totally willing to look over all that bullshjt. Wake up Sunday morning and take the boat back out. Out on it for maybe an hour or two and the battery dies. Big motor won't start. So we call the store and the 24 hour emergency number over and over and over again. With no answer or replies. Left voicemails and text messages. Luckily we found a nice couple that towed us back to our dock. So we again call and call and call with wouldnt ya guess it? NO ANSWER!! So we drive back up to the store and wouldnt ya know, NO-ONE IS THERE!! Still haven't returned a call or text. HORRIBLE. WASTED ENTIRE DAY read more

Jackie took good care of me so I could make my buddy's 40th memorable - Flew in from MN to fish Fork at its literal lowest...cold fronts, lake levels dangerously low, fishing pressure still high, a Major League Fishing event two weeks prior, and no cover to fish other than tree stumps...soooo many tree stumps. With some guidance and a bass boat from Ricky's, we still made the best of a long weekend. Chris took us through a map tour of Fork and what to avoid. With a pile of torn-up propellers at the foot of the map as motivation, we were ready to tear it up. Haid got the boat launched with the help of a little shed hunter puppy and made sure I wouldn't be surprised by anything the boat had to offer. After a minimally successful first day, and a trolling motor I swear was broken, Haid reminded me of a little on off switch my dumA$$ forgot about, and gave us some 'sweet spots' to fish the next day. Put a big bass in the boat and a few catfish along with a crappie to boot, and had a great time flying around the lake on this rental boat. Highly recommend working with these fine folks. read more

My brother and I rented a pontoon boat. They were very helpful and courteous. They drop the boat exactly where I asked them to and picked it up right after I called them. The boat work properly with no problems at all. They're very knowledgeable about the lake. We even saw Chris on the lake who came by to check on us and say hello. read more

My wife surprised me with a boat rental on Fork for my B-Day. We had an awesome time and I will definitely rent from Chris and Jackie again! I have a truck and could have hauled the boat but opted to have Chris drop us off just to make it easier for us. Upon arrival we went over some drop off locations with Jackie, and then Chris suggested we pick up some minnows for the crappie action. Terrible!!! Do not use Ricky's boat rental. Tried to charge us for damages that were not there. Kept changing the cost to repair imaginary damages. Not worth one star. They are obviously used to scamming out of town vacationers. The engine died in open water. Then the trolling motor died leaving us stranded in the middle of the lake. So I don't know what the disgruntled review is all about. Myself and many friends have been using this rental for years and they are NOT scam artists. I just got back last weekend from Lake Fork and we have their boats a the whole weekend starting Friday morning. One year I accidentally overpaid and it was my mistake. Rickies sent my money to my address on file in the mail along with an expensive casting net that we accidentally left behind. You said your trolling motor died out? That little outlet at the boat slip is what that's for. Plug your stuff in overnight hero. Lol Rickies hand delivers your boat rental to wherever you are staying at and let us keep them even overnight for catfishing. That negative review is total bull shit. Sorry for the language. This business is polite and honest. They take pride in their business and customers. They are also very pro Military and go the extra mile to serve us. Worst boat rental ever.... We rented a fishing boat and discovered it was taking in water the bilge pump was coming on every minute or two and pumping out water all day we thought it was missing the plug. The trolling motor quit working after about 2 hours than the lift handle cord broke. We took it back after the first day to see if he could fix it or let us get a different boat. He said the trolling motor should only last 1 hours if you had a big fat foot on it all day and suggested that we charge it and that we should use it only for directional control and not to move forward (use the big motor for that). We charged it for 12 hours and it still went dead within an hour the next day. So basically we rented a boat only to be able to tie to a tree and fish from there the rest of the day... In an attempt to address the crappy trolling motor at the end of trip, he wouldn't listen and started ranting that he would never rent a boat to me again. To top things off, after getting in his truck he started threatening, asking if he needed to "show me out of town" on his way out he flipped me the bird and called me a fat "F" . My suggestion would be to rent from someone else. And yes, I have contested the charge on my credit card and will be contacting the BBB. read more
