    The Boat

On November 7th, 2025 we booked a private boat tour for our Welcome Dinner the night before our wedding. The weather on the top deck was incredible. The views of the lake were stunning and our guests couldn't stop complimenting how much fun they had. We had Son of a Butcher deliver out to the dock and BOYB. The staff was friendly and kind. We were very well taken care of. I would highly recommend this experience!

Came here for my friend's birthday and had an amazing time. The staff here was very friendly and welcoming. We sat at the top of the Sapphire Moon boat and it was a beautiful view of the sunset. You can bring your own food and drinks. This is perfect for small gatherings and strongly recommend this company.

Came here to celebrate a friends birthday and we were welcomed with hospitality and a great attitude. You reserve your tickets online and you have to fill out a waiver; make sure to give yourself ample time to get there, as they will not wait for you. The captain is nice but stringent with his rules, as should be, for the passengers safety. So make sure to follow all rules and everything will run smoothly. You're allowed to bring a cooler with beers, wine, I chose to bring hard seltzer's. You can also bring food in a picnic style, they do provide complimentary drinks as well. The boat ride was smooth without any turbulence and they tell you a few fun facts about the lake(s) in Texas, which I found interesting. As soon as the sun was coming down we went up to the deck to admire it. Made for gorgeous pictures or selfies, it was a bit windy up there though. Once it got dark we went back down for some more music and a bit of dancing. I really liked how they gave birthday shout-outs to those celebrating. This was such a special and fun experience. Looking forward to coming back for any occasion.

Had an awesome time Saw the sunset while sailing with Caribbean and Spanish Music playing in the background The cool breeze blew against our faces As we sat on top deck ...It could not get any better We drank coolers while singing and even danced a bit To the cha cha slide What a beautiful ride coming in with the party lights on the boat and the lights from the lighthouse and surrounding restaurants . The sound of the waves while approaching the lighthouse echoed peace and serenity... I have to return real soon ... The crew were accommodating Even taking song request Awesome time Loved it!

We went with a group of 8 & it was pretty fun! BYOB we brought coolers. I wore sandals, shorts and a tank it's pretty casual! The captain was super nice, there are strobe lights and tables down stairs up stairs is pretty dark but wide open. We asked if they could play some requested songs and one of the ladies said she would rather eat a corn dog than play the song we requested... "come on Ilene" (who doesn't like that song) rude..they were not very receptive to making our night better. Non-the less it was a good time and we danced most of the night. We stayed at the Hilton after it was beautiful!

Our family had a BLAST!! A great experience to have with family and friends. The entire vibe was amazing... from the music, view, & most certainly the BYOB. Trying the sunset cruise next..

Nice relaxing cruise. Missing food. If food was available it would've been better. We brought a picnic lunch. A good getaway hour and a halfway. Better security would be nice. The drinks, sodas were flat. Overall I would do it again.

Sunset from upper deck of the cruise.

This was such a fun experience. The timing was just right for the current sunset and it was a beautiful view out on the water. The ride was great!! We were celebrating our anniversary as were a few other couples and a few birthdays on board as well. It was such a fun time and the whole boat seemed to having a great time. Would 100% purchase again.

Ask the Community - DFW Boat Ride

Ive enjoyed your cruise many times but it puzzles me to hear the captain state there is only one natural lake in Texas?…

Because we are new chapter, it is totally easy to make reservations on the weekend and brain-dead easy during the week. I want enough but not too many people to join so we can grow the fleet but still be able to book. They have 3 new boats arriving in May 2021, so we will get a nice upgrade from regular marina rental fare. I was considering buying a boat for my empty-nest life, but do not want to deal with: buying, insurance, maintenance, trailer, storage, cleaning, towing, launching, and I don't even have a truck, so boat club is perfect for us. I used a boat last weekend, and everything was super-smooth. Because I am club, they treated me a bit better, and most of the paperwork was done when I arrived. I also have a reservation for Mother's Day in a few weeks. At Don Pedro, we get the boat all day, which is 10 to 4. The full-day rental makes it easy to get to the other side of the lake and stop, swim, play, and chill without feeling that the meter is running at $100 an hour. The boat club has the same impact as a ski pass; it makes you more integrated with your hobby and takes away the pain of paying for the rental on the day you use it, so you don't really notice. It's a buffet; the more often you go, the more value you get. I bought the Captain's membership for $3000 with a $500 discount and pay $375 a month, so the breakeven is 7 days on the water in the first year and 5 days each year after. Also, the skis, boards, and tube rentals are free, which cost $65 a day each without club. For Northern California, you can use the club at Lake Don Pedro and Lake Berryessa. I heard they will open a location in Southern California, maybe at Marina Del Rey. You can also use all the other locations throughout the US.

At Suntex you just return the boat with fuel and walk away. That staff is great too and online reservation system is easy. I also understand that they are getting 10 new boats in December!

After the gate is closed if you need to be let out, you have to call the police. But there's so much to do here! Not just the swimming area! There's a hiking trail, playground and walking trails. Beautiful views and plenty of space to social distance yourself. The trails are available for no fee as far as I could tell, but the swimming area near WhoaZone is $5. They do not take cash, only debit/credit card. The swimming area has a playground and picnic areas. I think there's a spot to cast your kayaks off over there too, but I stayed near the beach and didn't explore anything else. I saw vehicles with kayaks going over on the other side. If you have water shoes, I'd say bring them and a beach umbrella as there's no shade. The sand isn't too uncomfortable to lie in, there's just cigarette butts here and there. But I definitely recommend visiting for the day or even camping if you're into it!

The rock bottom extends out a couple of yards into the water, where it turns to clay. For swimmers, the rockiness is less of an issue - get past the rocks and swim/float your heart out, but the rocks along the shore make it significantly less enjoyable for babies. Running along the shore and splashing in the shallow water is painful without water shoes. For a true SANDY BEACH, check out Twin Points Park at Eagle Mountain Lake or Little Elm on Lake Lewisville instead. Twin Points is nicer, if you're deciding between the two. Pros: it's a pretty spot, with nice views. Plenty of parking - $5 per car. CREDIT/DEBIT ONLY. There is a dock for jumping off (which we didn't notice until we were leaving, sadly!). Not very crowded on a Saturday in August. Pretty clean, other than the bathrooms. Alcohol permitted (or if not permitted, certainly not regulated). Days swimming at the lake are SO MUCH FUN! Aside from the rocky shore, the only big negative was how gross the bathrooms were. We were there pretty early, so clearly they aren't cleaned daily. Also, the whoa zone is SO EXPENSIVE!!!! It looks fun but I cannot wrap my head around the fact that people pay that much to be there. It's $22 a person for ONE HOUR! Mon-Thurs they also offer a $50 all day pass. For our family of 7, I consider that cost prohibitive. Overall, it was a fun day at the lake, but Meadowmere Park is just not the best DFW has to offer.

Definitely family oriented, there is not much for the night life. Sure hope that business picks back up, asi would hate to see this place go to waste. Several spots to pick from to eat from a Mexican, Cajun, American and Asian. Parking is a little tuff at times, you will find a spot eventually but you just have to circle around and walk further. They do have valet though, so that's an option. There is not much shaded sitting areas near the water so an umbrella is highly recommended, or a hat, but definitely plenty of sunscreen and water.
