1 Star -- Very Disappointing Experience…read more This was my first time visiting this park, and unfortunately, it will probably be my last. I rented two paddle boats at 2:30 PM and specifically told the employee that I wanted them for three hours. He took my payment, gave me the paddle boats, and never once told me that they had to be returned by 5:00 PM. I also did not see any clearly posted sign at the rental area explaining the closing time or the required return time. At 5:00 PM, I received a phone call asking where I was. I told them I was on my way back. When I arrived, I was told that I was late and would have to pay a $50 late fee. I explained that I rented the boats at 2:30 PM and asked for three hours. The manager eventually realized that 2:30 PM + three hours = 5:30 PM. Instead of simply acknowledging that there had been a misunderstanding and that the employee should have explained the return time, he told me he would split the charge because his employee would have to stay overtime. I ended up paying $29.50. What bothered me the most was the manager's attitude and lack of professionalism. I was upset, but I was not being disrespectful. He accused me of being hostile toward the register employee, which was not true. Rather than calmly listening to my concern and explaining the policy, he spoke to me in a rude manner in front of other people. I was also told that I should have read the waiver. I explained that I understood the waiver to be related to safety and liability. If an important rule is that boats must be returned by 5:00 PM, especially when someone is specifically requesting a three-hour rental at 2:30 PM, that information should be clearly communicated before taking the customer's money. This entire situation could have been avoided with one simple sentence from the employee: "Just so you know, we close at 5:00 PM, so the three-hour rental would need to end at 5:00." I have no problem following rules when they are clearly explained. What I have a problem with is being charged a late fee for something I was never told, and then being treated disrespectfully when I questioned the charge. Management should seriously consider clearly posting the rental return times and closing hours and training employees to communicate those rules to customers before completing a rental. I hope the park takes this feedback seriously because no customer should leave feeling embarrassed, disrespected, or taken advantage of because of a misunderstanding that could have easily been prevented.

Most people never venture more than a mile off the Main Channel, but you'll be rewarded if you explore. We have a couple go-to spots that are never busy even on a 110 degree Saturday during the summer & always have prime glass for skiing. I've gotten sick after wiping out & swallowing a mouthful of water, so I recommend bringing a bottle of Pepto for said wipe outs. Gross? You betcha, but even with this yuck factor, I still love the Delta. People are super friendly out here- always saying hi & waving. I'm not sure why, but even the most callous, hardened jerks will begin smiling once the boat is cruising along & the breeze is whipping through their hair. I think it's because the Delta has magical qualities :)

We stayed in area CO9 and had a nice view to the lake and was close to the bathrooms/showers (the only bad thing is in area CO9 it has 3 bathrooms only and two showers and the campsite can get very full) It took a downturn when I went on the jet ski for the very first time. Everything was fine we passed the 5 min limit and me and two of my friends were also having a good time on the jet ski and it wasn't till on our way back to our campsite we caught a wave and the weight of the water on the jet ski caught us and flipped us over. Luckily we had our life jackets on and had other people close to the lake on jet skis and boats that were able to try and help us. They called the sheriffs that was keeping a watch on the lake and came over in the boat and was able to help us and even gave us a ride back to our campsite. I wasn't able to catch his name at the end but he had someone with him as well who is new and in training so we were giving him the full experience lol. But they were both really nice and very patient with us and they let us go by just giving us a warning. So thank you to the both of them for saving us. What I learned from my first year of camping; learned how to flip a jet ski in case it flips over, never wear your crocs and if you do keep em on sports mode or you will loose them in the water, and always carry a jet ski license with you or you will get a ticket. Other than that just want to thank the sheriffs that helped us on Saturday August 15. For your kindness and patience we appreciate it! :)

We stayed here in B loop site 25 over Memorial Day weekend. The site was FHU with a level concrete…read morepad for the RV. Each site has a concrete picnic table and very large concrete fire pit. There are burrs, goose poop and spiders everywhere. Tent campers are allowed to reserve FHU RV sites, and many do. There is absolutely NO enforcement of quiet hours. Other campers keep their music loud and the party going all night, every night. They literally never turned it down and were blasting it like they were at the club... 12am, 2am, 4am, 6am... ALL NIGHT. My kids and I couldn't get a good night sleep because of it. This is not a true family campground. It invites all the wrong elements, because they don't enforce the rules. Most of the campsites had WAY more than 6 people per site, which is another campground rule that definitely wasn't enforced. This is not relaxing camping. It's just non-stop loud music and partying. I would NEVER recommend this campground to people I actually like, and will never be returning.

Best to get there early because parking fills up quick. I was there for a BBQ on July 25th, at 10 a.m., and I was able to make parking in the overflow. There's parking on the outside street, but that fills up quick, as well. Anyway, inside the park, there's a long trail that goes all the way around the lake. There's boat rental, either kayak, paddle boat, you can rent a tour boat. I think you can bring your own boat, but it's best to call and make sure. There's BBQ and picnic benches. Volleyball court. A lot of green grass to sit, play sports. There's only one restroom near the boating area, and a few small restrooms if you trek around the lake. There are plenty of hiking trails. There's camping as well. An outdoor Cafe next to the boats. No swimming or wading. You can fish, but I wouldn't eat what you catch. There's warning signs about the water.

Like most parts of the paved trails are very well shaded from trees that have grown over those years. My dog and I walk for around an hour to hour and a half, so we usually pick west or east from the parking lot and return the same way. I think we've only explored like half of the lake so far. I've seen wild turkeys, deers, rabbits, and ducks around. And if you are wearing overear headphones, you get the natures remix with all the birds and insects chirping.

A rough trail on the far side of the lake made for a somewhat challenging hike, climbing over giant rocks and weaving through trees and debris. It wasn't too bad though. The sandy beach area of the park is fenced off and only open seasonally, with a small fee to enter ($5 for adults, $3 for kids and the disabled, free for babies). But the beach cafe can be accessed from outside the gates and offers various menu items like coffee, tea, hot cocoa, smoothies, lemonade, pretzels, hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, and ice cream. Lake Anza is free to visit, and offers free parking in a sizable lot. Restrooms are seemingly well kept too. I enjoyed my time here this past weekend.

But there are lots of turtles and birds to watch. For picnics, there are tables and a large grassy expanse for laying down a spread and also playing frisbee. For a hike, the loop around the lake (pond?) is perfect for kids and adults who are able to climb rocks and scramble comfortably along a few narrow strips of the trail. There is a bridge and an area where kids like to explore the creek. There are other paths off the lake, but those do tend to have more mountain bikes. This is an especially nice park when we have our late summer weather in September and October. Plenty of parking.

Bathrooms definitely were not maintained. I understand some cultures throw used toilet tissue in the trash, but the signs clearly stated flush the tissue. It seemed the bathrooms were only cleaned once or twice a day, and there was always piles of used tissue on the floor along with feces and urine. Maybe larger trash cans in the stalls can help contain the mess.
