Honesty' Well, I will give Lake George a 4 rating for ambiance... clearly for its recreational warmth and a very tasteful (3) on the culinary apprise for all venue date-night seekers. That's if you're hungry for anything else, other than fresh "fish". I've experience a beautiful channel of water ways. Pilot channel with scenic sidewalks and remote bayside channel of restaurants and family oriented activities. But' My choice was the fish and I did not experience that. Hook line and sinker? "Nemo" he's my favorite! My opinion is this Lake George "Reservoir needs-a fish revival.‍ That's it'... where are the damn fish. Stock this channel with a variety of choice -like fish. And, this reservoir monument will be a historic go-to-place....forever. You've been informed.

It been over 20 years since I've…read morebeen here and it puts a smile on my face knowing that many of the places I remember from my childhood such as the House of Frankenstein wax museum, Capri Pizza, Lake George Steamboat Company, Battlefield State Park, the Million Dollar Beach, and much more are still here. The City of Lake George has done a great job keeping this town beautiful for the locals and visitors who come here. There is plenty of places to shop, eat, and enjoy some light entertainment. We stopped up for their annual Oktoberfest and had a blast. The weather was chilly in the am but warmed up through the day. We found parking for $10 in a large open lot and walked up to Shepard Park where the even was being held. We had a great time at the event and all the staff working were friendly and kept up on maintaining restrooms and trash. Oktoberfest was free to enter; drinks and food were reasonably priced. My family and I had a blast dancing to some iconic Polka's and joining in with the band on the Germain Cowbells. All-in-all, we had a wonderful time in Lake George and I can't wait to visit again soon.

Enough space, of course, but quite boring without friends to run and play with. Lake George Dog Park provided plenty of dogs to play with and although we had been warned that there was sometimes a specific dog who came there who was not controlled by their owners, we never experienced any unruly behavior. In fact, everyone was very thoughtful and always put an end to any activity that could have even been questionable. We have moved and truly miss the park since we have no dog park near us. They also have a water source for filling drinking water for the dogs except for winter time.

This is an excellent autumn hike with amazing views. Although short at only two miles from…read moretrailhead to summit, you'll need proper shoes for this hike and you will warm up due to the steep grade and moderate rock scrambling. We took the red trail all the way to the top and we took the blue trail on the way down (it merges with the red trail). I'm giving four stars because the trail marking are really good, except where they aren't and just disappear for a while or entirely. The red trail is mostly well marked, though there were still times when we just had to keep heading up the mountain because we couldn't find the next marker. On our way down, the blue trail was really, really well marked until it just stopped and we could not find another marker. I'm not a fan of going off trail because I know it can be dangerous and it can be damaging to local ecosystems, but without a clear trail to follow and nearly a mile into the woods, we did the best we could (kept heading downhill and to the right hoping to find the red trail, but eventually finding the road anyway). If you start at the trailhead, you will walk up metal stairs and onto a walkway over the highway. From there, you'll follow the trail about a mile up where you will find a road. Beware of traffic, cross the road, and you'll have another mile to go to reach the summit (you can take red or blue trail) where there is a parking lot and great viewing.

This beautiful hiking trail begins just a few minutes North of Bolton Landing. As you drive north,…read morethe trailhead is clearly marked on the left. There are two loops, one with yellow trail markers that is about a mile long, and one with blue trail markers that is about 5 1/2 miles long. The trails are very clearly marked. We hiked there on a July afternoon and we were the only people there. It was like being in the wilderness, even though we were very close to town. The longer trail goes through the trees, along a stream, and takes you to a serene pond, as well as a look-out point. We saw some beautiful mushrooms, as well as many frogs, toads, and salamanders. Highly recommended for an afternoon hike!

It isn't slippery while climbing but the descend gets tougher if you don't have the proper gear. One slip and you may loose a few teeth. The trail is well marked and you would see plenty of people along the way to guide you. The summit is breathtaking and you could see lake George in all its beauty. Overall, I'd suggest anyone who loves to hike to give this a try. You won't be disappointed.

The trail is too steep to ski, but is great for snowshoeing. There are other trails in the system that are less steep, but somewhat uninteresting except in the fall, during the peak of foliage.
