Cute mini golf location to spend an hour of fun! Clean course and cute animations. Ample parking here and wasn't too busy when we came here one afternoon right before heading to dinner. Course wasn't too difficult.. all par 2 and 3 holes so achievable for sure. Hitting hole in 1 is possible...just focus and keep your eye on the ball. Follow the rules and stay on the course. There are vending machines to purchase beverages at 2 locations if you get thirsty. Return the putter before you leave and visit the gift shop for souvenirs. read more

I love me a silly kitschy putt putt outing. The art installations don't have to be good, just creepy and a little silly. There were very few cars in the lot by the time we got here after dark, yet somehow probably 30 people on the course. We were not given the choice of ball color which was kind of a bummer because that's a fun way to start. The course tells a wild and fun story along the way. I think each hole is manageable and fun. We got held up by little kids not abiding by the 6 putt rule haha but honestly this is for fun so who cares. read more

When I was planning my vacation to Lake George Goony Golf was one of the mini golf courses I was looking forward to most, it did not disappoint. Goony Golf is great, it reminds me of the old school kitschy mini golf that my grandfather use to take me to when I was younger. Goony Golf is 18 holes of big vibrant mini golf holes, windmill, giant dino, giant snake, and a bunch of other holes that kids will love. Every hole is fun and interesting , and they are all different form each other. They also have a very small arcade that you are better off avoiding and a rather large gift shop here. My biggest complaint is while all the holes look fun they don't play fun. A course like this thrives on risk vs reward and there is no reward for many of the holes. Even if you make the harder shot very often you end up in the same place as someone that took the easy shot. Overall a very good and fun place to play mini golf, worth visiting just to see the holes. read more

We got in wednesday sept 18th for my neice's wedding and it was nice and well kept and the gift shop was not bad either.

Went there with my family recently (July 2nd). Only my three daughters were playing. They wanted to charge me and my wife because we were walking the course and was told, "that is the economics today". I explained that if that is the case, then please give me my money back, and I will go to Pirates Cove right down the road that lets us watch our daughters. They changed their tune quickly and let us go "this one time". So for a golf experience, it has always been solid (been going here for 35+ years). As a customer experience, I will not be going there again. read more

Can't say enough about this place. It has tons of holes with animation. Facility is kept well and it's relatively cheaper than the other courses nearby. Had a wonderful time and there is a small arcade attached. Would definitely try this place first if your in the area and want to play some mini-golf. We are a mini-golf family, and we loved Goony Golf. It's goofy, weird, maybe a bit creepy in a scary-clown kinda way, everything you could hope for in a vacation destination mini-golf place. We got there early, after breakfast, maybe about 10 am, and it was not crowded as we played, but there were a good number of people when we left, so get there early during peak vacay times? Since there weren't a lot of people, I can't comment on social distancing. It's outside, so ... I also don't know if the clubs were being sanitized after use. The course is kept up pretty well, so I don't think they're slacking. Some say the holes are challenging, I don't know about that. Maybe for very little kids. My kids are 7 and 9 and had no problems (no aces, but no problems). Everything around the course looks old but taken care of - freshly painted, not a single piece of trash on the course. Clean water features, too - so many mini-golf places let their fountains get mucky. I would def come back to Goony Golf, if only to go to Gift World next door. Goony Golf is a Lake George institution. I mean, I've been coming up here as long as I can remember, and Goony has been standing proudly all that time. The course is incredibly kid-friendly, as they are a hodge-podge of actual nursery rhyme characters (e.g., Humpty Dumpty on a wall, Cinderella's Carriage) and random kid-friendly stuff stuff (I don't know what a Goonysaurus is, but my nephew loved it). The course itself is actually a touch difficult for kids, though--quite a few hills and ramps--and anyone who can win the free game on the bonus 19th hole by putting the ball up the ramp in the snake's mouth deserves a hearty pat on the back (You know who has two thumbs and deserves that pat on the back? This guy!!!). It also seems like it could use better upkeep--I do enjoy charmingly ramshackle, and it is not completely dilapidated, but beyond some of the decor looking as if it hasn't seen a fresh coat of paint in a good 25 years, some of the course obstacles (e.g., moving doors/windmills) only seem to work sporadically, which was a touch frustrating. But it's a fun course for kids, and challenging enough for any overgrown kids/adults with those kids in tow...or alone. read more

COVID notes: social distancing was not followed by any groups on the course. Picked this golf course out of the 4 lake george options becuase it had a dinosaur ( the 10 year old insisted mini-golf needed a dinosaur). Lots of movable/ hazard holes. Everything looked in good repair and clean. THe course is VERY HARD for younger kids and non- mini golf experts with many uphills and hazards. Our whole group hit par of 6 and didn't finish most holes ( and we aren't mini-golf newbies). Many times their was several groups backed up at each hole waiting for the first group to finish. It would have been helpful if staff spaced out the groups, not allowing a new group onto the course until the first group had at least finished the first hole. We're 7 friends vacationing on Lake George together, and when we passed this place we knew we had to give it a try based on the silly name alone. The course had a ton of wacky characters and creative scenery, and the holes were a fair difficulty level, nothing too challenging. It started to rain around hole 7 but we decided to stick it out and it was very worth it. Overall a very fun experience among friends. We even commemorated it by getting GG t-shirts from the gift shop next door (on sale!). It'll be a fun memory to look back on and I would definitely go back. read more

Our 7yr old son suddenly has an unrelenting wish to always play minigolf so here we are trying one of the several establishments in the area. This particular one is situated on a corner off the Route 9 so you can't visibly miss it. It's also midway between the Lake George Village and the outlets, and adjacent to a large gift shop. Parking is free and plentiful. We went during Saturday late morning in September so not too crowded. Our 5yr old daughter was intrigued and tried her cutest best to play. Overall, you can't really go wrong spending time here with the family. Memorable photo spots to seize those moments. Also if you want to be a smart saver, you should look for a discount online or from some magazine/brochure to reduce the admission price a little bit. Definitely try this place out. read more

Played Goony Golf for the first time when I was a teenager, way too many years ago. It hasn't changed much over the years, but in this case, that is a good thing. This course is whimsical, and just fun to play. Each hole presents a new visual feast. I always enjoy playing here. Our most recent visit in July 2020 was the first time my son has played the course. Sir Goony's Golf in Lake George has definitely seen some better days. Like most of the olde time attractions in the area this place wreaks of what-was and not what-is-now (not that it was awe-inspiring from the get-go, this is mini-golf we're talking about). My girlfriend and I went during the off-season, just before Memorial Day, so the Arcade & Haunted Cavern were not up & running, so mini-golf and the gift shop it was. As a big fan of this kind of "art", I'd been eyeing this place for my first venture into mini-golf. There's just something haunting about tarnished, worn-out, concrete-over-chicken-wire statues older than myself, what can I say. They give me that vibe of permanently having the mindset of the denizens from Rudolph's Land of Misfit Toys, but oh, nevermind. ; ) There's the creepy were-bear eating ice cream on top of a bear cave (missing the cone, I guess, from his left hand that he'll lick for all of eternity) who is randomly placed with elves, the poorly-shaped Jungle Book critters (that I would imagine are a bit "newer" compared to some of the rest) standing alongside a giant elephant's head spring, the cowboys inside the Old West building (one with a very poorly-formed forearm... or is it just a badly-broken wrist that is the problem?), the very random--and I mean VERY random--She-Ra-style armored pegasus mounted partially in the woods (who also has a doll at the gift shop), and the pièce de résistance that greets visitors from behind the frontgate: a 3-foot tall mother goose, riding--and choking--a giant swan/goose-bird... thing! Gooney Golf attractions are known for their bit of the avant garde of deranged, cartoonish style mash-ups, but to see them get weather-worn and generally misused over the years and not get their much-needed TLC (duct tape for pupils on a giant snake where tiny lights used to be, for another example), it really adds something a little scuzzy, and a little creepy to the visit--which is generally right-up my alley. As far as playing the holes go, we scoffed at the suggested par for some of the holes. With the equally-unrepaired greens, you'd need to really be a crackshot with your scuffed-up putter to even come close. Expect gouges and chunks missing from your green, as well as random sinkholes and general putting-dismay from the site's overall disrepair. The gift shop, aka "Gift World", is full of touristy junk--and well, maybe "full" isn't quite an accurate description either. All the usuals are there: the faux-pewter picture frames, keychains of multiple varieties, and random pirate or beach objects, all touting how you had gone to "LAKE GEORGE, NY" at one point. On the fun-side however, it seems that the suppliers that once filled the gift shops of The Great Escape before the big corporate takeover of my childhood, are still supplying Goony Golf's gift shops (see: the picture where I'm holding a non-Native American-made tomahawk, not pictured: the tom-tom drum, the spear, or the pencils located at the register that are half-filled with tiny gemstones--seriously I was saddened when I went to Six Flags Great Escape for the first time in 15 years and this kind of stock merchandise was replaced with stock merchandise of the Loony Toons & DC comics persuasion). Looking over the website's photo gallery, with all of their bright colors and minor statues that don't even exist anymore, now that we've been there, it's easy to imagine that those shots are at least 15-20 years old (making those kids closer to 30 now--and consequentially, my age) and that very little has been done with the upkeep since then. All-in-all, don't get me wrong, it's still a fun time (as long as you catch a lull in the crowds) for under $10-per, but the laughs might be aimed more *at* Goony these days, than with Goony. 4 Stars for the experience, but 3 stars for the quality. read more

We've been coming to Goony golf for probably 15 - 20 years so its a tradition now. Its fun as they don't make goofy mini golf courses like this much. Great for kids. Its a bit old and has some age but its still plenty of fun trying to sink your putts amongst the fun (Alice in Wonderland like), colorful and childlike holes. If you are visiting Lake George, I'd try it out for an "old school" experience. It also has a huge gift shop full of touristy souvenirs but we don't go there much. read more

Classic old-time mini-golf. Great location, right off of the interstate and without having to go down into the lakefront area. They are also open weekdays in early summer, when most of the competitors are still closed. Our family of six had a great time there. This place was quite run down. From the outside it looks decent. Once you go in, it is actually not very well maintained. The courses are pretty much rigged. If you look closely at the the holes of each course, you'll notice that its on a bump. It is not leveled with the floor. So you would have to do a few more swings before getting it into the hole. Good time, story didn't make much sense with the theme of the course. Sir Goony just felt lost, I mean how do you go from an owl with a graduation cap to Captain Hook's clock shop? Here on Father's Day weekend my wife myself and our 6 year old son. He is the only one who is playing so only one parent can accompany him through the mini golf that time has forgotten. I'm sitting on a bench waiting for them to finish next to a scary clown. I look around and see the lack of pride in owing this business where wire held together with black electrical tape to keep them together. What awesome upkeep. Everything here needs a fresh coat of paint. They have upgraded the exterior lighting to led in hopes of saving money atop rusted light poles. But my son had a good time playing mini golf read more

Went here for mini golf place is a bit outdated the characters in the window are freaky and scary .. one of the sections had a shovel on the green and was filled with water when you walked on it.
