This company does not even deserve one star. I'm beyond disgusted with the service I received. After being a loyal customer for years, I can't believe how they treated us with our purchase. They sold us a faulty mower with issues right out of the box. After three failed attempts to fix it under warranty, we tried to return it, and now they're flat-out refusing to do business with us. It's unbelievable that a place like this is still in business in Granbury. Quality should start with the people behind the brand, but clearly, this owner has no idea what that means. I have shopped at Lake Lawn Equipment for 13 years, I purchased 2 riding mowers, one of them a high dollar zero turn mower 3 years ago! But NOW they wont even consider replacing a dead battery, purchased from them 3 months ago! They said it tested fine, but it is DEAD! It was fine Saturday but DEAD today! I wont be back, Home Depot will take better care of my needs for mower parts. No more $$$ for these rip off artists! read more

Another commentator used the word "rude." I think that's appropriate. I've purchased several things from them because they're local. Their prices are usually higher than others. Last year we decided to get a "good" SP mower so we paid dearly to buy it here. We took it back once for repairs which they attributed to old gas. It must have been old coming out of the pumps, I guess. Anyway, we're moving and no longer need it. It's basically like new. On a whim I stopped to see if they would buy it back at a price they would determine. Their response was no. OK. I need a new chain saw. Would you allow me anything for this like-new mower that you sold to me for $400 last year as a trade? Answer - no. I've never been impressed with this place. I am even less impressed now. read more

If I could give a half star I would! They charged me $138 for a $25 part and the ONLY reason I paid was to get my mower back. They didnt call before they "fixed" my Toro riding mower. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS! In raising this to my neighbor I found she got shanghied on a "tire repair" (reseated tubeless onto the rim) for $50, when it is a 5 min fix. I've been a customer of Lake Lawn since it was opened. Apparently, either ownership and/or management has changed. It used to be a great source for local landscaping companies and homeowners alike, with owner Dick Young and his helpful staff providing top-shelf service to all. For the last several years, different faces have populated the store, and Lake Lawn is not longer as service-oriented. Go in there without a part number and you'll see what I mean. While the Toro dealer in Fort Worth happily looks it up, Lake Lawn employees are more likely to send you packing. The crowning touch: a Confederate flag displayed out front, on a Lake Lawn employee's motorcycle. I'm done with Lake Lawn. read more

I am an "elderly" woman clinging to my walk-behind mower as my form of exercise, and such a nice young man has greeted me both times I have been in there this summer. They replaced the belt that kept my self-propelled Honda walk-behind from working well for me and the charge was very small. A couple of weeks later I tried to change the blades, and neither I nor my very strong son could get screws loose, so I took it down there and they put the new blades on while I waited, for free. I will go back there even after I have to relent and buy a riding mower, which I am afraid is coming before long. read more

I went in to the store for a lawn mower tire and was able to get the tire I needed at a "discounted" $127. I went next door to Good Year Tire for the installation and they told me they had the same tire for $67. I went back to return the tire to Lake Lawn and was charged $20 to put the tire back on the shelf. Bad pricing, bad policy, and bad customer service. read more

This is the second tractor I have had repaired here...it is a Cub Cadet that needed a new hydrostatic transmission. I brought it in, thinking it needed new belts...turns out, it needed a new transmission, which they did not have...they offered to install my own, if I could come up with one, which I did. Searched around and found genuine replacements from $1100 down to $480. I ordered one, had it direct shipped, and two business days later got a call from them that my tractor was ready! I was impressed that the labor quote was only $60-70. The bill ended up being about $110, but still, I was happy with it. I'm having them work on another Cub Cadet this week, so will see how that estimate ($100 total), comes out. read more

Lake Lawn provided very poor and incomplete service on my 2016 Club Cadet 46" 22HP June 2016 My mower was in for Spring Service and belt replacement. Paid $288.95. Mower was returned to me in unserviceable condition. Big rooster tail between twin blades, and uneven deck cutting. Mower cut great before being serviced. Called service manager Mike to complain. He picked mower up for second time to correct his original poor and incomplete first repairs. Returned mower with a second bill of $149.86. The second bill had duplicate and unauthorized repairs. I called Mike to question the second bill. He got upset, told me to forget the 149.86(duplicate and unauthorized work), and told me to take my business elsewhere. Mike is a very poor example of a service manager. read more

I borrowed a Poulan 2150 chainsaw from an older friend to cut down a dead tree for my mother in law who I was visiting. It ran alright when it was upright but died and leaked fuel when laid on its side. My first that was "cheap consumer grade junk" ( my saws are Stihl and Husqvarna pro grade). A quick look inside the fuel tank showed that the fuel filter was lying in the bottom of the tank and the flop tube was hanging loose. That explained why the saw wouldn't run in certain positions. What seemed odd was that the flop tube was soft and flexible but return tube was brittle as pencil lead and the end was shattered. The fuel leak was from the tank penetration where the return tube enters the tank. Got the saw running resonably well the the mixture started to go rich then lean. I couldn't get it to stabilize. I then found that the primer bulb was split allowing air into the system. Now to the point. I found that Lake Lawn had just worked on the saw. Supposedly they had replaced all of the fuel lines and fully rejuvenated the saw. They did a horrible job. Hopefully this was done by an employee that can be trained or fired and not one of the principals. Regardless, their quality control sucks. I will recommend that my friend take the saw back for rework. If they correct the problems I will edit this post. read more

My company only uses stihl products and because of that we have to use Lake Lawn. Every time we have to go there we flip a coin for who has to go. They are awful to deal will. And you woukd think for the price you would get treated better. If you have to go in there remember that they are the only stihl dealer with in 30 miles so don't get angry with them and have them refuse you service. (Its been done with my co worker). read more

Had my rider mower in to repair an oil leak. Without going into a day-by-day description of what I had to go through to get my rider mower back, let's just say it took six phone calls to them to finally work on my mower on the 26th day. On day 27th, I went to the business and simply asked why it was taking so long? Ten minutes later, an employee said it was being loaded and would be delivered within the hour. (It actually took 90 minutes.) If a repair it going to take an extended period of time, Lake Lawn Equipment should inform the customer up-front. That way, other arrangements could be made. Since the protracted delay was purportedly due to heavy volume, I am pleased to inform future customers that Lake Lawn now has one less customer. read more

I have had nothing but good things from this business. They have a new manager now and it is great. Everyone up front on the counter is new. They are very helpful. I read the other reviews on here and sounds to me like it is "customer malfunction" I have spent a lot of money in this place and will continue to do so. GREAT place to do business!!! By far better than any other place in Granbury to take your lawn equipment. read more

I'm a professional arborist of 30 yrs. I had a stihl proffesional trimming saw,190,191t series. The spring holding the handle onto the housing broke but the saw ran perfect. Then the pull cord broke (easy fix), and the saw still had no issues other than those 2. So since my boss was heading that way, I gave him the saw to see if Lake Lawn Equipment had a handle. All they did was take the whole saw apart ($45), and tell the boss it would cost $200 to repair!!?? There was NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS EXCEPT, PULL CORD AND HANDLE! I told the boss to get the saw back and I would fix it myself. They gave it to us completely disassembled, in a bag. The guy didn't even put a pull cord on it to start it, just took the handle off, all the throttle parts and all the cover plates. About 5 minutes of clueless destruction. Plenty of other places to buy stihl saws and have them serviced. Lake Lawn is Definitely Not Recommended! read more
