We hosted our daughter's wedding reception at Kayla's Korner at Lake Lyndsay on June 28, 2025. The venue itself is beautiful, and the lakeside setting made for some stunning photos. However, the experience leading up to and during the event was filled with stress, miscommunication, and disappointment--primarily due to our interactions with Lyndsay Rapier-Phipps. Our initial meetings with Teri and Sam were wonderful--they were kind, enthusiastic, and supportive of our ideas, including adding drapery, fireworks across the lake, access to the décor inventory, and decorating the night before. At $5,000, the venue felt like a great fit. But once communication shifted to Lyndsay, the tone changed. She never met with us in person, and responses became difficult and often frustrating. My daughter even forwarded me texts from Lyndsay saying, "I don't know what to do with this--can you contact them for me?" The draperies turned into a confusing and drawn-out process. I ultimately gave up on it to preserve my sanity. There were differences in what we were told during our visits versus what Lyndsay would email us. The biggest issue was about decorating the night before. We had confirmed with Sam in March and May that no event was scheduled, so we could decorate early. Yet two weeks before the wedding, we were told otherwise. We were offered early access at 7:00 a.m. the day of the event, which Lyndsay called "above and beyond." However, no staff were present at that time, as promised, and the cart and food tables we had spoke about during our planning meeting weren't there. They even did a tour for another party at our venue that morning as we were scrambling to get things done. I was flabbergasted. After calling and texting "Help!" a staff member finally arrived around 9am. We did change the count to include two additional tables just a week before our event (late RSVP's), but the layout had the walkways blocked. The event space says it can have up to 200 people, we had chairs/tables for 150. We had to rearrange every table ourselves that morning--including moving the bridal party tables--causing us to fall way behind schedule even with 20+ people helping. At the end of the night staff began clearing décor before the event had ended. The next day, we realized many of our gold chargers were missing. After contacting Becca, I was referred to Lyndsay, who refused to deliver them and said they'd be mailed in 3-4 weeks. However, after posting my reviews, she texted me to say they would no longer be mailed, and I would now have to schedule a pickup 24 hours in advance to retrieve them. We picked all 80 of them up a week later, and they were still filthy. If we had accidently taken their decor we would have returned it to them directly and they would absolutely be clean. When I messaged Lyndsay about this, she responded with personal insults against myself and said that I was "delusional". It's been 40 days since the wedding and they haven't given us our refunded $500 deposit back. We left the venue immaculate when we left. When I told Lyndsay we would be filing a small claims, she said "small claims could really cost you". I shielded my daughter from all this and she had a beautiful wedding day, and that's ultimately what matters most. I'm not trying to harm any business--this was simply our experience with Lake Lyndsay. Just be aware that while others have had a good experience, there may be a chance this could happen to you as well. read more

My daughter chose this venue for her wedding next year. One of the first things she noticed was the way they explained everything so thoroughly to her on the phone when she called to inquire about it. What I like about it is you can use your own vendors. They do provide recommendations, but you can choose to use your own. They have a huge bridal room! It's a beautiful spot and will make for a lovely wedding and reception. I came here tonight for my friend's wedding. It is a beautiful venue, although the drive here can be a little complicated because Hamilton Middletown Road got me side tracked and tried to lead me to a different way. The bride said they didn't have this problem the first time they saw the site, that's why I knocked them down to a 4 star review. Since Cincy reviewers focus on the site I'll talk about that briefly before giving them a recommendation. This site is beautiful and nice for outdoor wedding venue. Has a perfect view of the lake and a gazebo. They also set up tents if it's raining like what happened today. But I feel like the tents don't give justice to the beautiful outdoor venue area of this space. It's meant to be outside with that lake view. If you get close enough to the lake you can see all the fishes and big ones floating around. Pretty cool to see. The lodge we were situated by was the small one next to the gazebo. So I just went in out to use the bathroom there. Other than that you just have the small area for setting up small tables. Not enough room for dancing unless your clearly doing that outside where the rain was happening. Onto my recommendation for Cincy reviewers. One thing I wish some Cincy reviewers would do is describe the way to get here since they live in the area compared to me from C-bus, just a recommendation for you Cincy folks. It would make getting to this destination a little easier. I understand your trying to describe the venue but for some out of towners it would be very helpful in the future if reviewers would start doing this. (I will try to help as much as possible, but as you can tell I'm not local.) I attended a wedding here over the summer and let me be the first to say I've seen my fair share of weddings especially in Ohio and this was BY FAR the most beautiful venue I have ever seen. The bride and groom got married right on the lake which looked like a scene out of a movie. There was plenty of seating and the wedding could be seen from any seat in the house which was awesome. After the ceremony we moved inside to their lodge, which if you check out the pictures, is absolutely breathtaking. There is no other words to describe it. I was in shock when we walked in! The light from the outside shined through the top to bottom windows and filled the space with warmth and the lake was a great view. Not being from here I had no idea this place existed. Always pictured a destination wedding for myself, but after seeing this place it definitely puts Ohio on the map! I should get commission for how many people I have told about this place! But in all seriousness though, you will be blown away. read more

When deciding to have her wedding here, management took way to long to return my daughter's phone calls to answer questions. My daughter has since decided to do a jp wedding. She did not trust lake Lindsay management to be reliable to meet her wedding day needs. With 11 months notice we still did not receive our deposit back. I am surprised that people don't just not give the park cancellation notice and leave them hanging like they did my daughter when she had questions. read more

We had my daughters wedding here recently. It is a beautiful place for a reception and the wedding as we did. I had a pleasant experience here, for the most part. We catered in food and bartenders. There are two lodges here and they both overlook the lake. It is well maintained. It is a great place for wedding photographs too. I'm not sure about the cost compared to other reception halls since my wife was involved with looking for a location for the wedding and reception. Would I do something here again, most likely, but I would tell guests to arrive much earlier, decorate much less and get many more people to assist with the cleanup. I would also try to negotiate ending our time later than Midnight. Having said that, It is a bit remote and a few people commented they had difficulty finding the Reception hall. A few of our guests missed the wedding ceremony because of that. The staff began cleaning up at 10:00 and I noticed them getting upset because we did not join them in cleaning when they were ready. They felt they were doing much more than they normally do also. I was the father of the bride, still in my tuxedo and began helping them clean since they seemed so frustrated. I also didn't like the fact that the staff were very particular about the cleanup we performed. They walked through with my wife and "inspected" each room. There were a few people who said they had some unfriendly dialog with the woman that managed the hall, including my wife. As I said, we were supposed to have the hall until Midnight (which I think is early and I am not a partier) and at 10:00 when the staff began cleaning our guests surprisingly felt the reception was ending and began to leave. Some contacted me later and asked why we ended the reception so early, since many of them were having a good time still and it is such an important event. They stated that was the earliest they had ever left a reception. I know at least one person who was considering Lake Lyndsay for her sons' wedding but didn't like the fact that it ended so early. read more

This is the perfect venue if you are a DIY bride. There are 3 different venues but we used the Lodge, which is the largest of the 3. We had both our ceremony and reception there. We were lucky in that the weather was beautiful that day and we were able to take full advantage of the gazebo. Our pictures turned out great and the lake provided the perfect backdrop. The Lodge is very spacious and can accommodate up to 400 guests. We had approximately 220 and the space was perfect. We even had room to set up a lounge area, photobooth, popcorn bar, guestbook quilt, animal rescue donation table, etc. Yes, we had a ton of random stuff at our wedding! Lyndsay is an absolute joy to work with. She is very flexible and always helpful! We opted to rent the decoration package for $400 (I think) and this was a good decision. Lyndsay has a variety of items and is very helpful in helping you utilize them in creative ways. We were able to book our own caterer, bartender, florist, etc which can help you save money by comparing prices, A lot of venues make you use their in-house vendors so I loved having options. Lyndsay went above and beyond to make sure our wedding was exactly what we wanted. Above the reception space is an apartment/bridal suite. This is fairly large and allowed everyone to get ready on-site. There is even a large room complete with mirrors that is perfect for stylists to make everyone look fabulous! There is a separate room for the groom and groomsmen but it is not nearly as nice. Since I am not superstitious, I let them all hang with us to get ready. A bridezilla-free moment! We didn't look at very many venues because we knew Lake Lyndsay was perfect for us the first time we visited. If you want a cookie-cutter wedding, go somewhere else (Receptions). But if you're looking to have a creative, DIY wedding in a beautiful setting, Lake Lyndsay is the perfect venue!!! read more

I've been to a few weddings here, and it's ok. It's fair in price, and it has nice views, but TERRIBLE location. Also, hospitality and management are rude and unprofessional. I was in a wedding there over the weekend, and the workers went in the bridal suite and stole everyone's cash, iPad, medications etc. and ram sacked our things!!!! I was furious, and management did NOTHING about it. It really put a damper on the entire wedding. I would NEVER recommend anyone to get married here. -Jen read more

We attended a wedding here and the place itself is perfectly fine for a wedding or event, however if the event happens during the colder months, the HVAC system will keep the entire main hall almost frigid. The smokers that went in and out are mostly to blame for this cold issue, as most HVAC systems are not able to regulate a warm temp with constant influx of cold air. Grrrrr dang smokers! Rant aside, best bet is to dress in layers and keep a hot cup of coffee/chocolate (spiked preferably) and dance a lot. Your GPS may give you slightly wrong directions, but once you are alongside the road, you will find the proper driveway to enter the place. read more

I attend a wedding here May 26th. I have to say I have been to many weddings in many different states and countries. This was the worse wedding I have ever attended. The wedding was at the beach house, which really looked like a once upon a time boat dock, with a small boat storage area. Meatballs were served for one of the appetizers, but there were no utensils to eat them with. Two bars were place on either side of the boathouse, the lines were long and the bartenders could not even make a simple tonic water with a twist. The salads were skimpy, the plated dinner just inedible. One of the family members made a wonderful selection of sweets in lieu of a wedding cake, but they were placed on tables near the water and it wasn't long before the bugs found them. The sound system was inconsistent; too loud for dinner, not loud enough to be able to hear any announcement of when the bride and groom were cutting the cake, etc. But perhaps most disturbing were the logistics. Half of the guests missed the announcement of the bride and groom and the couples first dance because dinner was in a large tent, and dancing in the boat storage unit, communication of where to be when was non-existent..
