We had to get our boat towed to remove a rope that got caught in the propellers and it was 20 minutes till closing time, they went above and beyond to help us remove it. From the quality boats, pricing, customer service and safety awareness. I had the pleasure of working with Hank and Burton and believe me when I tell you these are some genuinely awesome and knowledgeable guys. Every aspect of the interaction I had with Hank, Steven and the other staff members was exceptional. I wanted to rent a pontoon for 1/2 a day but didn't make the reservation until the day before (to be fair, I rented it for a Thursday). Hank answered all my emails promptly and got me on the books right away. Once we got there, he went over the contract with my hubby and I and we headed out to load the boat with our stuff. Once we were out, Steven came over to show us how to operate the boat, how and when to lower the Bimini top, how to interpret the different gauges and walked through the boat to inspect damage before heading out. We had a wonderful time. The weather was excellent and the pontoon was easy to navigate and in great conditions. I look forward to renting from them again. Also, they do offer Groupons but I urge you to contact them directly about the rental and ask them to match the Groupon rate. That way the business can actually make their money instead of giving half to Groupon. You'll pay the same rate regardless. They also have bathrooms (take advantage as the boat doesn't have one) and a small shop with ice and beverages. Definitely give them a shot. read more

Hank and his team are my new "go-to" guys when it comes to having a GREAT day on Lake Norman. They had us set-up and pulling away from the dock in no time and in a boat that looked brand new - past experiences with other Marinas included "RENT-ME" signs and a boat that needed to sail on to the boat graveyard. My family rented a pontoon boat for three days last week while we were vacationing in lake Norman. They brought the boat right up to the dock at our lake house and picked it up there at the end of our rental too. The boat was great and it came with a tube on the back which was a lot of fun! We ran into a problem with the GPS not working and when we called they were quick to try to help us out. We have been renting pontoons from Hank at Lake Norman Marina for about 4 or 5 years. Thanks to Living Social, we were introduced. My husband, myself and our three boys CONSISTENTLY have a fabulous memory packed excursion thanks to the friendly and helpful staff. The boats are clean as are the life vests and the ropes on the well-inflated tubes, safe and secure. A clean bathroom sits at the top of the parking lot and comfortable, well maintained wood Adirondack chairs overlook the marina. My boys love to feed the turtles that swim under the walkway bridge. August 25, 2016, as we were leaving our house to enjoy our rented pontoon boat, my mother unexpectedly experienced a fatal aneurysm. I called Hank at the marina to let him know we would not be there, I was not calm as I was understandably hysterical. Hank tried to console me and told me I didn't have to call. It was the most devastating day of my life. My True North was taken from me and I have been lost ever since. When I could no longer cry from dehydration, we rescheduled our boat outing. Hank went out of his way to make sure we found peace on the water. He gave us the whole day and comped the gas. Hank is a genuine human with a hearfelt soul. We have returned twice since then. We stayed at a VRBO at the lake and rented a boat for a few days -- the guys at the marina were fantastic, friendly and efficient. We filled up the gas tank midway through, and they were at the dock ready to help. We rented a Cobalt 23 -- best rental boat we've ever had! Our family joined the boat club last year and it was such a great decision! We have 5 boys, we love the water and all the activities but we didn't want to take on the responsibility of owning a boat. So the club was a logical choice for our family. We cranked up the fun factor and took summer 2016 from zero to HERO! The boats were always ready for us. We rented a pontoon a couple of weekends ago. The boat was new, spotless and easy to drive for a newbie! A full day on the water cost $295 and you can expect to pay ~60.00 in gas for 8 hours of use, unless you're parked a lot. The workers help guide you in and off the dock and gave a full instruction on the boat prior to taking off. I wish I could make a weekend habit out of renting from Lake Norman Marina but it can get expensive and they don't offer any optional insurance. You break, you buy. Kinda scary! Amazing day on Lake Norman. We had a groupon for boat rental and used it on a beautiful Friday. The staff here was terrific, had us checked in, went over everything on the boat with us and away we went. Being out on the lake on a Friday is great! Less boats, very few jet ski's.
