First time staying at Raystown Lake resort. We stayed in one of the lodge rooms. The room was clean and a nice size. The lodge is up on the hill so you can't walk down to the lake. They do have balconies with a partial view of the lake. The resort is spread out so we had to drive to the beach and the boat rentals. The restaurant at the marina is very pricey and the food is just ok. We drove into town and ate. I'm glad we only spent one night here. It was nice to see , but you don't have a boat there's not much to do.

Lake Raystown Resort provided a convenient getaway from my parents home. There weren't any accessible rooms available and all the cabins were taken - a testament to the popularity. I asked about the difficulty of getting into a regular hotel room and was told we could go right in from the sidewalk. We arrived only to find five stairs, however. My Dad did manage to navigate his way into the room, but this could have been a major issue. At check-in we received our keys and a property map. The receptionist was having issues keeping her face mask above her nostrils. We made sure that was as quick as it could be. Perhaps with that we sacrificed hearing about pandemic procedures in place, however, because we later discovered there was no room cleaning service. We did put the dirty towels in a bag as instructed and they were replaced with fresh ones, but somehow they missed exchanging the towels my parents had put into a bag. They did provide extra coffee pods for us. The condition of the rooms was ok, but they are showing signs of age. The shower head was loose, the security lock on the door was broken and the mattress sunk in the middle. The plastic porch chairs as well as the dining chairs were really uncomfortable. The on-site restaurant generally had good food (we ate there three times, twice for breakfast) and there were decent health protocols in place. We did have an issue with the Best Way Pizza advertised as being at the resort. There is one on site, but it has limited hours. The other is 25 miles away... there are no other restaurants around! With all this, it was a nice getaway. The property is still beautiful, the rates are reasonable and I would go again. I'll be prepared with more food and my own chairs. Don't let these issues stop you, just spend some time planning beforehand.

So Lake Raystown is a big beautiful ACE lake. At this location there is a lodge, a marina, cabins, and campsites. We stayed at one of the large sleeps 8 cabins. It had a lake view, on a slight hill, with picnic table and fire ring. Wood not provided. Though there was a large deck on the outside there was no furniture to sit on. The cabin is actually a mobile home. It has a nice sitting area with two sofas that open to sleepers. There is a table that seats 4 and a nice sized kitchen with an oven. Bathroom with shower. One Bedroom with queen size bed. Above the bedroom is a loft with a 2 inch mattress but it is not high enough for an adult to stand. Plenty of storage space everywhere. Fridge is full size. Each cabin has different amenities so read carefully. The amenities were scarce. There was not pan for the oven which was annoying since there was no mention of not having something you could use. Two small pots and 1 large pan. Teflon coatings we're scuffed up. One large knife, had brought our own sharp knife. Fridge was full size. Three camp stores had some snacks and eggs milk butter canned goods to put together a meal. A finer dining restaurant and a pizza joint if you need a break. Hersheys dipped ice cream for a treat. A few observations. It's a beautiful location but there are lots of cigarette butts around. It did not appear that there was staff to monitor the grounds, eg there was a dog poop bag that someone left at the beach area and it sat there several days....Trash at the campsites are picked up frequently. Most staff did not seem to be very friendly, didn't give the place a good vibe. I would free more comfortable with a washable mattress cover on the sofa bed mattresses.

They set us up on a public pathway basically in the parking lot

Waterfront camping here means you will be in the middle of the boat launch parking lot, public playground, on the dirt path to concession and zero privacy. We repeatedly asked for a real campsite only to be told there were none. There was a beautiful site (56 I believe) that was free all weekend. Strangers walked the path through OUR SITE to the concession. This place sucks. See photos for reference. Every pic was from our site.

The lake itself was very nice and gave outdoor family's many hours of entertainment. The spots for campers and RVs are great. Unfortunately for us, we are cabin renters. We rent at many different sites. We rented in the pine cabin 24 with our family of 6. We left a day early. We saw multiple cockroaches and just could not stay without being completely uncomfortable not to mention the worry of bringing anything home. Also, the small fridge that had duct take as shelf rails was a huge turnoff. We honestly were going to book again but get different cabins but after seeing so many cockroaches i don't think I can

My friend had an absolutely gorgeous wedding here - the gazebo is a beautiful place to get married and the ballroom is a lovely place for a reception. Unfortunately, the "resort" is not a pleasant place to stay and is crazy over priced. The "oak park cottage" is basically a dirty trailer. The couches were so dirty I didn't want to sit on them or let my toddler sit on them. The floor was cracked and dirty. There are horizontal blinds but the bedroom didn't get dark enough for me and I slept terribly. We paid $370 for the weekend and they supplied no towels, no dish soap, basically nothing. I'm surprised they gave us toilet paper. They also left very specific instructions about how clean the place needed to be left, including taking out our own trash. This is not how hotels operate. Also, I guessed the dishes were not clean because the last people to occupy probably didn't go buy soap. EVEN THOUGH "LINENS ARE INCLUDED" YOU DO NOT GET TOWELS!!!!!! I don't need luxury accommodations but for this to be worth the price I think it's reasonable to expect (1) that the bed be made when we arrive, (2) that I not take out my own trash, (3) the standard tiny bottle of dish soap, (4) towels. My parents stayed in the dog friendly cabins which were much more attractive (a wood cabin) but full of carpenter ants. Also, we made sure we booked this cabin with plans to bring dogs and they sent my mother a message threatening her if she brought her dog. When she called they basically said, "oops." Not hospitality at it's finest. I also thought that the place was small enough that I would be able to walk from my "cottage" to my parent's cabin to the lodge. The place is huge and not really walk-able. It's probably a good place to camp - where you're not expecting anything in terms of service anyway.

This is the boat that we rented. Looks like a blast right.

Booked a trip the week after memorial day weekend. Planned to rent one of the party boats from the resort marina with the water slide, our kids had been looking forward to it for weeks. Waited until the week of the trip to book the boat bc they don't offer weather refunds. The boat with the damage waiver cost us $769.35 which we were happy to pay for 10 hrs of fun out on the lake with our family. Within 5 mins of the trip we had issues, we made it our beyond the no wake zone where I tried to throttle up to get us to our destination on the lake. They told us we could expect it to go about 30mph and they even loaded a tube and rope onto the boat. Well we never saw anything close to 30... we couldn't get the boat over 5 mph, I thought maybe there was a trick to get it to plane out and get up to speed. But no matter what I did with the throttle or trim it wouldn't go any faster. We got passed by a couple in a kayak at one point. We also saw the matching boat they have to rent and it was blowing by us with kids in tow on a tube. We called about our issue with they told us we could bring it back to have it looked over. At this point we were a couple miles away trying to salvage the day of swimming on the boat. We made our way back at lunch time and they informed us the boat had the wrong propeller on it, and they could offer us a discount or switch to a regular pontoon boat. Our kids wanted nothing to do with the regular boat as they looked forward to the slide. So we told them we'd keep the party boat and deal with the lack of speed and talk to a manager when we got back about our discount. Needless to say the trip was a joke. As a dad trying to enjoy a day on the lake, my day was ruined and I'm beyond frustrated, and once we brought it back to the dock the best they offered us was $100 off of our rental which was just the cost of the damage waiver. If they had parked our boat it would've sat there all day and they had 3-4 other regular pontoons sitting unrented. They could've easily charged us the rate of a regular boat and I would've been happy, but $100 off was the best that they could do. We spent $669.35 to drive a boat around a lake for 9 hrs at 5mph, and on top of that, the pump for the water slide leaked so the slide was damn near bone dry. But atleast they knocked $100 off. I had every intention on leaving a positive review with the resort had they made this right because of all the bad reviews already about them on here. But I guess they don't care to work for their customers when things aren't right.

I went here earlier this month on my fiance's annual family vacation. This was the first time I'd ever been to the resort and I was pleasantly surprised. Getting there was sort of difficult. We were pretty unfamiliar with the area, and the directions the resort provided were not so great (the road signs were too small/nonexistent). One of our friends got off one exit on the Turnpike before what was suggested and found the resort much more easily. I would suggest getting out the map and planning out a better route than what Google tells you. Once we were at the resort we had a spectacular time. We stayed in the Lakeside Villas. The rooms were nicely sized, and the kitchen was ok. Warning: There isn't an oven - just a stove top. So don't plan on baking anything unless you pack your own little oven! Another thing about the kitchen is that it didn't have too many cooking tools so I would bring a liquid measuring cup, mixing bowls, chef's knife, and extra cutting boards. All in all the villa was nice and most importantly it was CLEAN! The lake was really fun. There were a good amount of people out, but we rarely felt inhibited by them. The scenery is beautiful, and you should definitely check out the cliffs. We had a lot of fun jumping off of them! I had a really fun time at Lake Raystown Resort. My fiance's mom and sister ate at the Marina Cafe and said it was pretty bad. I didn't expect much, so I didn't bother eating there. We stopped into the Bistro Express and Arcade and left because it really looked unappetizing. The arcade games were also pretty lacking. But that's not why we were there, so it didn't make much of a difference anyway!

The roadway into camp is trashed; potholes, uneven, drops from asphalt missing, extremely narrow. Our full experience: We checked in Friday afternoon, for a full stay through Memorial Day. When we arrived, the staff was friendly and we were directed where to go. Our spot? The newest and last spot on the hillside, next to the outdoor pavilion. The weather was awful, which I know isn't their fault. We tried to get settled into our spot, but couldn't get our trailer anywhere close to level; the gravel kept shifting and the tires kept digging in. So, we went to the office and bought way over priced leveling blocks. I backed the trailer up on them, finally got the trailer level, and began unhooking. Mind you, it has been pouring the whole time. We were tired and soaked. As I unhooked the truck, pulled it out of the way, and my wife began hooking everything back up, I began to bring the nose of the trailer down to level it front to rear. Suddenly, and without warning, the trailer slid forward and off the tongue block. We had X-Chalks in use between the tires, stabilizing jacks down on all four corners, but it didn't matter. The trailer slid because the gravel wasn't packed, the blocks had sunk, and the trailer tires slid right off them. Again, I know the rain nor our setup is any responsibility of the campground. But the stability and levelness of the camp grounds... excuse me, "resort"... those things are. We couldn't get the trailer off the ground, two of our stabilizer jacks are permanently damaged, and we wound up driving back home that night, completely defeated, and leaving the trailer there until cooler minds can prevail. We aren't inexperienced campers. We know the safety measures to take. This was just ugly. We returned the next day with a floor jack and a 2x6 to jack the trailer back up. We remedied the situation before going to the staff in the office about the issues. They kindly moved us to a seasonal site for the remainder of our stay. But that's not the end! Sunday evening, the resort hired a food truck and a rock band to come in and play in the pavilion. They played until after 10pm! I can appreciate their efforts, and the music was good. But 10pm is too late. The other frustrating thing that we realized after the fact... our initial spot would have been 25 feet from their giant, loud, speakers. Our second spot was across the grounds and we could still hear the music so loudly that we couldn't hardly have conversations without yelling. No warning, no notification, nothing... I will never go back. Sad, because there was such high hopes and potential.

This is actually quite a shame. Campground is nice and spaces are nice sized. What we did not like…read moreabout it is the store and pool close at 6 pm. We also asked if we could do a late checkout for 2 hours on Sunday and they wanted 30.00. It's not like the grass was cut on our site when we pulled in and I asked. Nobody was coming to the two sites our family had till the following weekend
