Very narrow paved roads. With the number of vehicles parking on the lots one has to be good at backing in ! Thank goodness husband is! Bathhouses are very clean and roomy showers. Pool are is roomy with a pool, hot tub and wade pool. They are all very chlorinated. Lots of activities for the kids... (adults too)basketball, horseshoes, pickleball, shuffleboard,swings... People need to clean up more after their dogs. They also have propane fill station and cabins for rent.

If you're arriving after dark, be cautious--the entrance sign is not lit. I was driving a 40-foot motorhome towing a 30-foot trailer and mistakenly took the first turn instead of the second. The signage isn't illuminated, so headlights are helpful to confirm you're in the right place. I highly recommend arriving before dark. The campground is very quiet and feels like stepping back into "old Florida." It sits right on the river, where we saw otters playing and fish jumping--literally jumping two feet out of the water. Very cool. We stayed in Site 20, a pull-in site with excellent river views and located right next to the boat ramp. There's a small store on-site that sells firewood, fire rings at the sites, and it's perfect for a relaxing evening. The permanent residents were extremely friendly and helpful. Kayaks are available to rent for river trips (we didn't do that this time). They don't sell bait, but there's a great bait and tackle shop less than a quarter mile across the street with wonderful people--perfect for fishing off the dock. No problems at all, the dogs loved it, and my wife really enjoyed how relaxing it was. We'd happily stay again.

It was fairly quiet for being a holiday weekend. There is a pool but we didn't use it. Looked nice. There seems to be a lot of permanent and seasonal residents. Maybe that's why it was quieter. Lot of nearby places like Monkey Island, Yule sugar Mill Ruins, Ellie Schiller State Park. Overall nice experience just like first time we stayed there.

Got the last site for the Labor Day weekend, so was happy about that; although F05 was tight even…read morefor a 19 foot Airstream. Service: Arrived after office closed on Friday. Our reservation packet was in the late-arrival box. Nice color-map with good description of amenities. Beyond this the service was almost non-existent. Bath House was not the cleanest and the men's has only ONE toilet and ONE urinal. There are only TWO showers, although never had to wait. Shower debris were not cleaned during the four days. The left-side sink faucet handle was broken and spews water all over your pants because it has no aerator. Trash dumpsters are located at three corners of the park, but not the main entrance, so not easy to drop trash. I had walked our nightly trash to the bath house only to find no place for it. There was a single trash can by the fire pit but it was overflowing. Quiet: Pretty good here because many of the sites are long-term, so they aren't outside making noise. Cleanliness: Besides the bath house mentioned earlier, parts of the park are okay, like the office, pool and shuffleboard areas. Many of the long-term residents have junk piled up on their properties that detracts heavily from the cleanliness. The back of site F05 has a direct view of the long-term resident behind it and it looks like a junkyard with a lot of broken down items and storage units in very poor condition. Summary: Although the price was good, we decided we wouldn't stay here again unless it was the only place available.

We were there for two nights. Off season…read more Staff was very friendly. And it's clean! Lots of pull through sites these have no concrete slabs so you're stepping out of rigs into grass area. They do have picnic tables that are on asphalt type material like your rig Handful of sites with concrete areas that have furniture and fire pits A few sites that have a fenced in area attached with a shade tarp for your dog that also has patio furniture Sites don't have enough room for an additional car like we had and there wasn't really any overflow parking except maybe five spots towards front by clubhouse and main road. Well maintained grounds. They pick your trash up for you if you put it outside each morning. Absolutely no shade. No trees. Nice clubhouse and pool area. They serve free breakfast everyday from 830-10. Coffee, juice, cereal, oatmeal and bagels. They also have a little store inside. Toiletries. Fire starting stuff. Etc with some cool souvenirs. General camp store supplies. The bathrooms/showers were clean and huge. They're hot inside. Appears to have no AC . There are six Bathrooms. They're all unisex. The laundry was super clean and nice. It has AC. Takes Apple Pay or cc. 3.50 to wash 3.50 to dry. 4 of each machine. 30 min wash cycle 45 min Dry cycle Bath house and laundry are keypads and a code is given to you at check in. Free WiFi that was actually decent. Small dog area. Has two chairs and a shade tarp. Could use some ant spray. Outside our rig in the grass area we had some small ant piles. So I think spraying would be nice. We were pull through site 404. They have a few tent sites that sit on the ponds (a protected wetland preserve) which may or may not have gators. That would be a concern to me if I tent camped. They all have triangle tarps for shade. Overall I'd give this Koa 4.5 stars Having a small cement area to step out on would be nice. We stopped at Peck's for dinner on our way to the campground. We got there when it was dark around 8:30. We had a back in spot and couldn't see much in the dark. The campground wasn't that crowded. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate and we only stayed one night. And what a night it was! Lots of thunder and lightning and Freckles went crazy. In the morning they offered a complimentary breakfast. Dave got us a bagel with cream cheese and nice hot coffee. They had cereal, milk, juice etc. That was a nice surprise! We will try again in the future. We love Crystal River and all it has to offer!

Some roads are unpaved causing alot of dust. 30 minuets from most restaurants and groceries. My rating is 0 out of 100. The pool seen in pictures is unheated so can't be used in prime season. However it looks nice from a distance and within. Also in 2023 I can't imagine allowing Confederate flags any more than swastika flags or actually any political statement in what they call a park. They need to hire from the outside and implement rules that matter.
