Really negative experience with irrational and rude front desk clerk today at 3:30pm…read more I will no longer go here. Upon checking in, I was told by a viscerally nasty older woman (severe gray haircut) that my membership expired Dec 31st. It's February 9th. Ok, I'll make a call and handle this. But then this vicious entity refuses to give me my Silver & Fit ID Number because it was no longer valid. She berated me for having picked up a slip of paper off the counter to jot the number down. The number she refused to give me " If you had wanted a piece of scratch paper, I would have given you one. If you had asked! That's an enrollment card'!!" I left a message for a membership director to give me a call. This evening at 8:30, Tanya calls, and attempts to apologize for the front desk clerk. Tanya 'doesn't know' who was working the front desk today. Tanya does provide the expired ID number, which I can use as reference with my health insurance. Puhleeze! No. No thanks. I never will step foot in that legitimately hostile environment again. BTW, I am a person of color.

We attended an event at the Camano Center and was impressed with the space. The building is well…read moremaintained and clean. You walk into a foyer/sitting room with a huge fireplace (great for photos) and an area for registration. The room we occupied for the event probably had 20-25 tables of 10. It was pretty tight so we felt bad for the volunteer teens who had to serve. They have their own caterer and food was good.

Overall a good locally owned gym with friendly service and lots of equipment. I don't know if…read moretimes have changed since the previous reviews, but I'm there after work around 4pm every day and there are hardly any "hang arounds" that you occasionally find in other gyms; you know the people that just sit around not doing anything and talking on their cell phones or doing nothing. The few high school kids I do see are always working out. They have a lot of equipment and I rarely have to wait for anything that I need. I did take off 1 star for not fixing broken equipment in a timely manner though, the same machines have been off/broken since I joined 6 months ago; they really should remove them or get them fixed. The classes can get a little loud and obnoxious (even with my earbuds turned all the way up I can still hear them), so if that kind of stuff bothers you, you may want to plan your workout around the spin classes.

But there is only one of each weight machine so if someone is on the machine you want you either have to wait them out or your are out of luck. There is ALOT of high school students that go here and lets just say they dont know much about gym etiquette. They seem to be on social hour...they sit on the machines and talk to their friends or play with their phones, they are oblivious to the fact that maybe someone is wanting use the machine they have planted their butt on. I am actually there to get a workout, most days I leave supremely annoyed, because of this. And then there is the locker room.....the worst layout ive ever seen. The floor is ALWAYS soaking wet. Theres one bench to change at and it has full length mirrors on 2 sides. So as you can imagine there is no hiding anything. And to make it worse its in full view of the entrance to the locker room! There's only 2 curtained changing areas and the days I go they always seem to be in use by people who think that its a place to store their personal items for the length of their workout. Theres plenty of open lockers to use so I dont know why they do this. So you can either take their stuff out or leave it and change in there anyway. Im not a fan of either of those options.

One month in to the new Summit Everett so it's time for a review!…read more First off I'd like to say that I am very happy Summit Everett is here and I'll be continuing my membership with them for the foreseeable future. Opening a rock gym in downtown Everett is not an easy venture and it's very cool that it exists. The facility is very nice. It is clean, well lit, in good order and with 24hr access it's got all the right stuff to make a gym attractive. Whether you are climbing or using the regular weights and treadmill its a very good space. Since their move they transitioned to just bouldering from both bouldering and top rope and I think this was a good move. It makes the walls in the gym more accessible to everyone and can introduce more people to climbing. I won't call bouldering an intro to top rope like some folks but it is easier to get into and I think this switch was the right move. So what could be improved? A quick note about me so you can tell where I'm coming from. I'm at Summit for the rock walls and haven't used the weights or tread mills. I'm a climber since I was young and have an ankle handicap since birth. This means I'm about a 5.12-/v5 climber and won't excel too much beyond that. Including Summit Everett I have climbed four gyms in the PNW both bouldering and ropes and those skill levels are pretty consistent. At Summit I cap at a v4, somewhere between their yellow and blue bands. Summit sets hard. This makes it a very difficult place for beginners. The Vermin scale has a lot of wiggle room so it isn't that they aren't setting according to scale it's that within the scale they set about as hard as they can. You will not find a VB route here. If you are coming from anywhere else in the area kick your climbing level down a notch. My experience is that Summit is also largely a test of physical prowess. Technique and problems solving are not as stressed. The routes meet their difficulty level based on whether you have the strength for a dynamic movement, can grip a hold, or have the reach to progress. I have yet to fail to complete a route at because I didn't think through it correctly or didn't have the technique. These challenges are as important to a skilled climber as the raw physical. Lastly, more wall space. The more options to climb the better. The weekly updates are good but more options would be awesome. This is a big ask for the recently reopened gym so I realize this likely isn't something that can be quickly fixed but I wanted to put it out there because I think it would be very beneficial. Overall, I'm very happy that. Summit Everett is here and I'm looking forward to my time there and seeing the gym grow! Thank you Summit!

Very helpful staff and nicely furnished main room…read more I have recently joined The Center and have signed up for the Tai Chi class they call Mindful Wellness (or something to that effect). I've attended three or four class sessions so far and they are entertaining and informative. I'm struggling a little getting the motions down, but that is just me being in a new class with no experience in the subject. The instructor is nice and encouraging. I have every intention of attending these classes until I become adept at the art of Tai Chi.

Everyone at this facility is very helpful and kind. We are always greeted and assisted quickly.read more
