I was in the market for a Ford F150 Raptor and this place had a used one, a 2010, at a decent price. I called ahead of time to let them know I was coming from 2 hours away to make sure it was still for sale. The salesman I talked to confirmed it was still for sale and that I'd see him in about 2 hours.
We finally got there, looked at the truck outside, it looked great, so we went inside to get someone to let us take it for a test drive. The salesman I spoke to on the phone had a customer in his office, and I told him we already looked at the truck and we wanted to take it for a test drive. He responded, "It's going to be quick, right?" Uh yeah, I suppose we can make it quick. I understood he was busy, but I thought his response was kind of rude. Anyways, we went for our quick little test drive, and I admitted that I wasn't impressed with the 5.4L the truck had. I even thought something was wrong with the truck because it wasn't picking up and going like a v8 should. The salesman didn't know (I didn't either until later) that the 5.4's in the 2010 Raptors are like that which is why Ford switched to the 6.2's later that year, and it's a world of difference. Anyways, after the test drive, I said no thanks. I was interested in the F150's with the Ecoboost, but the salesman said he had other stuff to go do and if we wanted to come back another day he would help us. That right there set me off. When I'm in the market to spend $45k on a new truck, I expect to be given the time of day, especially when I drive 2 hours to come to your dealership. I'll admit, my husband and I might look like "kids", we're in our mid 20's, and I feel like that's what the salesman thought because that's how he treated us.
We ended up going to another Ford dealership and buying an Ecoboost. Had he given us the time of day, he probably would have sold us one that day, but he didn't have time so we spent our money elsewhere.
I forget his name, but he was older and has gray hair. I would maybe give this dealership another chance with a different salesman, but will never need to because the other Ford dealership that was closer to us exceeded our expectations. read more
