Something about that front display drew us towards that beautiful little shop. Unfortunately, after camping outside the store before it opened so we'd be first in line, we learned that it was closed, meaning we'd be barred from the happiness it has to offer. This was a major blow to morale, and nearly ruined the trip entirely. To fill the lacuna left by Live Love Laugh's absence, we went to every other store on the strip. We were completely unaware of the trauma we were about to endure. Each store was more and more scarring; I have never seen more offensive graphic t-shirts in my life. Abhorrent is the only word that comes to mind and we are not yet healed from the deceptively violating words that we read. None of us will ever be the same, and we author this Yelp review to help promote the safety of others. The energy surrounding these tourist traps is dangerous, but soul-shattering inside. We were all hoping that by the time we passed Live Love Laugh on our way out of Lake George that it would indeed be open and we would have one last shot at redemption. Unfortunately, the void in our souls remains deprived of the healing nature of living, loving, or laughing. Regardless, we still absolutely adore this store, and are salivating at the thought of being able to get into the store eventually. Once I found a sweatshirt I liked, I took it off the hanger to try on and a woman immediately ran next to me to make sure I wasn't stealing (she pretended to organize clothes next to me), it was extremely obvious she thought I was stealing that I felt uncomfortable and left. Really gross way to treat customers and I was well dressed, I cannot imagine how they would have acted had I dressed more casually. The store needs to modify how they treat customers.

We walked in and were greeted by Jim. Jim was very welcoming and helpful. He made the experience worth it. He explained the steps and allowed us plenty of time to cut our wax and fill our canisters. May I add that what makes this worth the time and money is it's totally customizable! You are able to pick the shape of the candle as well as picking the scent of it (all reasonable prices). We had a fun time hanging with Jim especially after our plans got cancelled. Fun for all ages. If you're looking for a fun activity to do as a couple, or with family and friends, go visit Wax and Wix and make a candle. Gift World is actually a very nice, well laid out store. Some things are overpriced, but being far from the 'main drag', they have good prices on some items. The store is set up and decorated in a really charming way. The store is two-levels and you can go upstairs and look down on the first floor. Many little rooms tucked away in the corners (lots to explore). They even had a small sale section upstairs. Most of the employees had masks when I went (July 2021). Wide variety of souvenirs, toys, costume jewelry, and beach goods. Pro tip: If you lose your kids, go upstairs above the cashier checkout area, where they sell water shoes and towels - you can see the whole store from there.

There were people that entered after we had, and the woman without the mask had the nerve to ask the people to "Please Use The Hand Sanitizer" Sadly at that point we left the store without purchasing anything that we had intended to.
