It is clear to me that this place delivers consistent and high quality care for its patients... as long as they fit a certain expectation. Please read that attached review before finishing this review. When I asked the other front staff where my friend was, they tried to lie to me! Renee told me that she was not fired but instead that she chose to not work there. I am a white male so I am not surprised that my personal experience as a physical therapy patient was better than others' experiences here. Additionally, I believe that creating a hostile environment for a pregnant woman is directly contradictory to the role of physical therapists. I sincerely hope, for the health of future patients and workers, that this office addresses its deep rooted issues. The front staff at McDonald's Physical Therapy is discriminatory and dishonest. He worked on my strength then after I received my prosthetics he helped me walk again and with his harness system I could do it without falling at all. The vibe is 100% collaborative and professional. Both therapists figured out I was having "impingement," which was causing burning, searing pain on my shin. After doing a routine of 5-6 exercises for a week my pain was gone. Pain that had prevented me from walking or even sitting for a month was GONE after doing their prescribed 5-6 exercises within a week. Amazing! Everyone here is enthusiastic and engaged. One torn due to bone spurs and the other on the way (according to the doctor). I couldn't lift my arms above my chest, it was that bad. But the people here explained to me in depth how it all worked, what to do, how to do...and it worked out great! When I was done, the surgeon and doctor agreed that the surgery would be a possibility down the road, instead of impending. They were impressed by the by the marked improvement I had. Now it is a thing that will be monitored, but I have full use of my arms. No shots , no surgery. And the people that work there are very friendly and personal. Which I liked. I arrived on my first appointment with a prescription from my doctor for medicare-covered machine-therapy (iontophoresis and ultrasound) plus PT. After a 1-hour evaluation with a therapist, only THEN was I informed they do not offer the medicare-covered machine therapy prescribed by my doctor. Three different people eventually told me that my prescribed medicare-authorized treatment was not supported by medical research and they recommended laser therapy that was NOT covered by medicare and would cost me hundreds of dollars for a series of treatments. I was SHOCKED! I asked ... you mean a medicare-authorized treatment is NOT supported by medical research?! And you cannot provide me exactly what I came here to get?! And you waited until AFTER a 1-hour evaluation before you told me all that?! I was in total disbelief and felt terrible because of all the subtle but polite pressure that was put on me when all I wanted was what my doctor had ordered. Why did they need to make me feel so terrible? I just couldn't believe it. After I asked my questions, the "manager" was consulted several times and I was eventually informed that they COULD do most of what was prescribed by my doctor and it would all be covered by medicare. I felt trapped since I had already been there one hour so proceeded with the treatment. This is where the 5-star rating starts. All hands-on people were OUTSTANDING and the full course of PT fixed my issue 100%. My advice is to be very cautious if you are recommended treatments NOT ordered by your doctor. Otherwise, an excellent place.

I had 2 previous laminectomies performed by the same IU neurosurgery professor. Shortly after being…read moresent here for physical therapy on the stretch table by my pain doctor, my surgeon considered the efficacy of a 3rd laminectomy. I told the owner that my surgeon needs to be part of care coordination and that i need to pause the next session to get his feedback. The owner was having none of it and demanded that i continue regardless. He fired me via text that day and texted once again that evening, telling me to never return. Understand there were no harsh words and i found his unwillingness to coordinate care disturbing. Concerns were valid since my surgeon prohibited stretch table therapy around the surgery date and weeks thereafter. I had a 3rd laminectomy, 5wks in a walker, 2wks in a cane, subsequent physical therapy elsewhere. Surgeon says it takes a full year to heal my motor nerve damage. Consider all aspects of physical therapy including a firm's willingness to work with multiple healthcare providers. I cannot recommend this firm if you are working with more than 1.
