Plus the place is 20 miles past where Jesus lost his sandals, so it works for me . 18 holes, decently maintained, priced well, not overly crowded. Clubhouse people are nice. Cons: yardages are not marked, they have signs which should get you to the next hall but sometimes they're extremely confusing. Like I'm still confused on which green I'm hitting to when I'm going to the 9th and the 18th. You think after playing enough rounds I would figure it out , but it's just not marked, so dumbass Me can't figure that out.

Friends and I came here on a weekend to try out their duckpin bowling lanes! We were there early in the day so it wasn't very busy, but there's virtual golf, a shuffleboard table, a bar and probably more stuff that we didn't see. In one hour we fit in two games with four people pretty much perfectly (we picked up the pace in round 2). The digital scorekeeping is very helpful! Watch out for the ball return: it spat out the ball onto the floor about half the time, so mind your feet! It was very hot in the place despite it not being terribly warm outside; we were all sweating! Overall though, I was thrilled to have an opportunity to go bowling again since I haven't been able to in quite a while.

We happened to be there on a Sunday at 9pm, where there was a discount for $25/hour. We stayed until closing at 11pm and it was fun. The system allows you to explore different courses, practice on the driving range, record yourself to watch your form, and good and drinks. The staff were friendly, considering it's Chicago. It also want busy. I believe there were 11 bays, each with their own club set. The downside was probably the tech didn't always capture angles and whatnot correctly so there were a few glitches on occasion. We also didn't have every club in the golf bag they provided so it would be nice to have that organized. It's also on the pricey end. Overall, it was our first time doing the experience and we enjoyed it. There seems to be other locations with a different atmosphere perhaps we can check out on another visit. Happy exploring! Most courses are pushing about $80 for 18 w/ a cart, Tamarack is half that. Played a dozen times last year and never had an issue with a bad cart. Yes play is slow and there's no marshals, but like most courses, it just depends on what day and time you are playing. Last year we were in a drought most of the summer, and everything was still nice and lush. Greens are usually in decent shape, and medium speed. Tee boxes are what you would expect from a muni type course, on the rough side, but you are not at a country club!! All the grounds crew was super conscientious about quieting their equipment when we were hitting our shots-very impressive. Even the head greens keeper was out checking practice greens and overseeing everything. We play the bunkers when condition allows, otherwise it's a free drop., imho most golfers should play this way since they can't break an egg, let alone hit a bunker shot. (PS: i'm a 10 handicap). Other reviews focus on the bunkers (lack of and sand etc.-condition-wise) but don't talk about how nice the fairways and greens really are, and just how challenging this course can play.. Honestly, for the money this course can't be beat! Otherwise, feel free to pay $80-100 elsewhere!

Pro shop quite kind…read more Had a little trouble finding our way as it was the first time on this particular course asked several of the workers and they were more than happy to direct us to the next tea and explain some of the nuances of the course. Which is way more than you find at most places. Usually you're lucky if you find a finger pointing in the direction you need to go & a grunt. Here they happily tell you and smile as well.

Lucy was wonderful when I called for a tee time making sure I understood they only take cash but did have an ATM onsite if I need it. When I showed up Lucy explained how to find the first tee box and that tee box of hole nine would be a shot over the road. Lucy's friendliness and willingness to help is service I've only seen at a high-end course. I would definitely recommend!
