Lakeridge Golf Course - 15th Hole (island) - Golf Near Me - Reno, Nevada

This review is for their banquet services, not about their golfing facilities. I've been to quite a number of private events and banquets over the years, and as I've started planning my upcoming wedding I've found that honest reviews of venues is so important in my search, so I feel that I must give a warning to others looking for banquet services that this venue is one of the most unprofessional that I've ever had the experience to have attended an event at. Our party was of 75, and we had a buffet style meal. The origional presentation of food was about 20 minutes late and then they ran out of food for the last 15 people and scrambled to prepare more. The chef was the only one who came out and aplogized. The food and beverage manager had come out to introduce himself earlier in the evening and claimed in his speech to manage several properties, so I would have thought someone with his professionalism would have been able to handle the situation, but when we ran out of food we found him hiding back in his small office and had nothing to say for his lack of being prepared. Also there were two bartenders, one of which was sadly inexperienced, and had no idea what was in a sex on the beach coctail or what wines they had in stock. There was another woman running around during the event, not sure what her title was, but she was extremely rude. For the price we paid, wow, really dissatisfied. read more

Save and except Montreux, a fully private club, Lakeridge is the finest golf experience in the Reno area. If you enjoy "parkland" golf, you will not find a superior public course in Northern Nevada. The trees are mature and enormous, the greens are tricky but true and the groundskeepers consistently keep the course in finer condition than any course in the area (save, again, Montreux). As for the administration of the course, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the tournament programs are terrific, and the green fees are a bargain for such a well kept course. Great views. Nice lay out. Friendly staff. I played with three other gentleman and the course was wide open. Beautiful greens. Very relaxing. The view of the lake and Reno in the background on hole #15 is amazing. This is my second time playing here and i really enjoyed both times. I will play here again. Let me start with the fact that we do not at all recommend Lakeridge Golf Course and would like to also say, our coordinator Sandy, was unprofessional and unpleasant throughout the wedding. Sandy did have a bag of snakes to sort out for our wedding as the previous coordinator left the company without notice and did not take notes on many things, making it so we had to relatively start from scratch with the plans for the ceremony and reception. Although stressful and cumbersome, my husband and I were willing to deal with all of that, but Sandy's behavior was so poor we made calls to the corporate office on two occasions and asked for assistance, which never came. Sandy would set up meetings and then not show up, and then the wedding came and things got worse. She was difficult to talk to as she spent most of our meeting times telling us how busy she was and how stressful her job was. We understand, but that is inappropriate to say to a client. The real clincher was the end of the reception, she began looking through my boxes when we were on our way out and when I asked her what she was doing, she told me she was checking to make sure I didn't steal anything. To say that was offensive was an understatement. If I wasn't so tired, I may have had a few words with her and later on her boss. She was not knowledgeable of the venue she was selling and would repeatedly tell us incorrect information. She asserted that it was not possible to keep golfers away between the ceremony and reception, a fact I find hard to believe for a venue that boasts of its wedding possibilities. If she is still there, I would suggest to anyone to ask for someone else, or simply, turn around and leave. Lakeridge Golf Course is not worth the headache. read more

Gorgeous course! What a nice course, I brought my girlfriend her and she couldn't get over how nice it was. It was hot but it was worth it to play this course. There are a few really fun shots over water, and a crazy island hole that you just have to see to take in completely. The carts are nice with a cooler with waters in it and USB ports to charge you phone or maybe plug in some portable speakers. There are squirrels, ducks, and marmots all over which my girlfriend also loved. Some of the fairways are a little tight but the rough isn't too hard to hit out of. Greens are nice, fairways are nice, and the pars always feel real because it's a long hard course. So playing well here is really satisfying. This course is expensive if you aren't finding deals to play on it but man is it nice. You really see where the extra money goes on a course like this one. So when I play this course I really soak it all in. Play this course at least once if you can. It's worth it! read more

Absolutely disgusting. The greens are in great shape, but the only bright spot was the girl in the 19th hole. Super nice. But the guy at check in was not friendly. The worst thing about this place is the marmots, AND what they leave behind. If you want to walk into a place, this is severely overpriced for what it is, a rodent infested Sh!thole!! read more

Wow!!! What an amazing golf course and Staff, along with breath taking views, Really Nice Conditions and just a Great Lay out. I had just come from Hawaii and I wasn't sure where to go play and a friend of mine recommended Lakeridge and I am very happy I chose them. And what made it even more have an awesome experience was the really kind and generous guys that worked there. Alright, so I want to preface everything I'm about to say by stating the fact that this is a very nice course that is well laid out and all around beautiful. I only wish I could have gotten to enjoy the round that I played there... I had an 8:05 a.m. tee time yesterday morning. I live an hour and a half away from this course, and wanted to get there early to hit some balls, so I left my house to pick up friends at 5:30 a.m., grabbed some coffee and headed on over. Got checked in, and got out on the course and teed off at 8:13. Everything was going great. There was a 3-some ahead of my 4-some, and then another 4-some that teed off behind us. Naturally, having one less person, the 3-some in front of us moved a bit quicker than we did, but not by much. We were playing at a pretty quick rate, and were actually playing pretty well (which is a small miracle in and of itself). Well around hole 6 or 7, up drives the marshal. We all stop and say hello, and the first words out of this clown's mouth are "So, you guys must be having a pretty rough day." Ummm, excuse me? Everything the guy said was in a totally condescending tone and it was obvious he couldn't have cared less about what kind of experience we were having that morning. He then went on to say that we needed to play faster because the 3-some in front of us were now a hole and a half ahead. Well OF COURSE they are! They have 1 less person than we do! We were on pace for getting through 9 holes in an hour and forty minutes, but nonetheless, we didn't want to argue so we agreed to skip the hole we were on, and close the gap with the 3-some in front of us. We finished the front 9 in an hour and thirty-eight minutes, and as we drove back past the starter to make the turn, we stopped to talk to him about our experience with the marshal, and despite having no choice but to agree that we were playing at an above average pace, the starter said, "We have 200 other golfers we have to get out here today, so you guys have to speed it up." Translation: we don't care how far you drove, how much you paid, or what kind of experience you walk away from here with today, we are going to push through as many people as we can. Totally unacceptable. Myself and my group were planning on playing two rounds there that day, but once we finished our rush through 18, we left and went to Washoe Golf Course to play our second round. The steep decline in course quality was well worth the ability to actually enjoy playing a round of golf. read more

Update as of 11/14/19, still nothing has been resolved, I used their services for my wedding and this was my review I left back in September hoping that it would warn other people. Hi, I got married here on 7/24/19, my wedding was great I loved the location and the ability I had to have both the ceremony and reception at one location. They have multiple great locations for photos. However, I was greatly disappointed and still am disappointed in there staff, I worked with Julie as a coordinator (which I hear she is no longer there), I was told I'd get to decorate the night before, but she had supposedly double booked and they didn't decorate till around 3 the day of my wedding (and it started at 4:30) she had decorated how she wanted versus how I had drawn out how I wanted it, things were missing, and they weren't all in the right spots..... In the planning process as well trying to set a time to go over last minute details took me weeks of reaching out before we were able to sit down and go over everything. Later in the middle of my reception I went to find her because I had some questions for her and she was no where to be found... They told me she had left for the night, I had questions regarding breakdown and when I needed to be cleaned out of there, so instead of leaving at the end of the night I was stuck cleaning up everything because the other staff there said I needed to have it out. I also had multiple items that I had left with Julie specifically go missing and have not been able to reach anyone to get them back. If you decide to get ready there, they have locker rooms, * people kept walking in and interrupting us *the AC was NOT working, so we were literally sweating off our makeup we just had done * there are like no mirrors (we brought our own) but it still was everyone crowding trying to get ready The day after the wedding as I'm leaving for my honeymoon I checked my bank account and realized I had been charged practically $900 more than what was NOT in our contract. When I contacted Julie about it she said she forgot to include gratuity and forgot to apply my holding deposit and would refund me that money. So I have spent the last month reaching out, messaging and calling trying to get this figured out because I haven't received anything, and people say they will contact me and I never get called. Anyways if I were trying to keep a stress free wedding planning/wedding day I would NOT suggest booking through them unless they get new management. Have LOTS of time, patience and $$$ to golf here. People play SLOW here and it is easy to lose balls. Be prepared to stand and wait on a tee box as a maintenance guy mows the green. At least twice I've made a Tee time here, then get there and they've given it away... NOT going back! Thank goodness there are lots of other choices for golf in Reno! read more

This course is in great shape, better than most totally private golf clubs. The greens were inconsistent and without local knowledge you can lose 4-6 strokes on these greens due to speed differences, and all the greens broke to the east regardless of the slope. This course would have received 5 stars if the course marshal had no let a five some back up the entire course for the last 6 holes. read more

If you're ever in the Reno area trying to get your gambling on and are an avid golfer, then I'd definitely recommend playing this course. Its not the prettiest course in Reno, but it sure is fun. The #15 is an awesome, downhill par 3 onto an island green. My advice, if you do decide to play here, bundle up in the morning and be ready to be half naked by the afternoon. The weather is dramatic. With the thin air, be ready to hit some monstrous drives. read more

Came here expecting to pay 70 dollars for a 2pm tee time on a saturday. It was a wonderful surprise to find out they lowered their rate to 49 dollars starting july 1st. Also we had come a little early to hit up the driving range but they werent busy so they let us start. The course itself is nice. Hands down the highlight is hole 15. Absolutely gorgeous, and definitely makes this course worth playing. read more

There are a lot of nice courses in Reno, sadly Lakeridge just is not one of them anymore. The course isn't in great shape and the staff just isn't that helpful. Today (a Sunday) I saw them out a fivesome in the midst of the day, and I encountered a group of seven in the course today. They were obviously slowing everyone else. I called the shop to complain but absolutely nothing was done. Go play Redhawk instead. read more

I live next to the course. At 7:45 am I am woken up on a Sunday to blaring weed wackers and leave blowers. Going on for an hour now.

i give lakeridge props. this is a nice friendly track to play. generous fairways and very good green complexes. there is a lot of elevation changes that will make you think. greens...good undulation, good condition and very receptive. staff is very nice and the beverage cart girl was cute too. i kniow that sometime it is a little slow but they all are in that area. plaese fix your ball marks for the rest of us!! gh read more

I just played the Lakeridge course. I was very, very disappointed!! Our foursome teed off at 9:33 am. As the round continued, we had to wait for the group in front of us on every shot and tee box. When we reached the tee box at the 12th hole, we were 3 hours and 11 minutes into our round!! There was a foursome walking up to the 12th green, a foursome on the 13th tee, and a foursome on the 11th green behind us. Basically we averaged 17 minutes a hole. Where were the Marshals to keep the groups moving?? At this point we were looking at a 5 1/2- 6 hour round!! We were so frustrated and angry that we decided to quit and we left the course. We were visiting from Sacramento and had each paid $60 for the round. What a waste of good money!! We will never play your course again and will never recommend your course to anyone!!! read more

Brought a group of 25 guys up to Reno for our annual Summer Golf Trip. Mike Eskuchen and the folks at Duncan Golf Groups treated us first class! The course was in great shape and the staff was very accommodating and flexible with our large group. Top notch people and an amazing golf course. Challenging holes and greens made it fun for us all. Can't say enough about the staff and how friendly they were. Definitely must try it out. We will be using Duncan Golf in the future! read more

Had a great time there in June with 'The Duffers' club out of the SF/Bay Area -- played another game the next day after that tournament ended with a partner as we liked it so much . Unfortunately, lost my Sky Caddy, didn't realize it for several days, called Lakeridge, ( evidently left in the cart ), and was returned to me with no shipping charge to CA. Thanks for having such a nice, well maintained course, and additionally, thanks for having a considerate staff. Looking forward to playing there again !!! read more

Beautiful course, love playing it, but the driving range has a lot to be desired, the mats are so worn out, it's like hitting off of concrete. You would think a course that's this great to play would have the newest available practice mats on the market!! read more

Terrible service! Tried booking tee time through Lakeridge's 3rd party partner GoldNow and they hung up on me twice! Then I called the Lakeridge clubhouse and got Chris and he hung up on me! I called back and he says "sorry I had other customers in front of me" and "we've been having phone issues". This is all a bunch of BS. I hope they get it together because this is a decent course, but tolerating bad service when trying to make a tee time is unacceptable. read more

Our NCGA associate club played the course about a month ago. We've played it many times through the years on our annual Reno trip. The course is in great shape (4 star) & as good as I've ever seen it, but buyer beware, especially for tournament play. The course changed management between the time we did the tourney contract & when our club played there. Long story short, they would not honor the contracted rate which made me have to contact each player right before the trip & ask them for more money. Then at the 11th hour the course informed me they actually didn't have our deposit. In the end, they took our (non-profit) club for the $300 deposit. I asked the director of sales / tourney contact more than once if we could apply the deposit to future trips or find some other way to get it back & nothing came of it. We will not be returning to Lakeridge or the other courses DGM manages ever again. We can't afford to lose 1 dollar & now have to figure out how to recoup 300 of them. That stinks! read more
