Had to put 5 stars so you can see this sincere warning…read more Please do not be misled by the tour. This is by far the worst apartment complex I could have ever chose to live in. When I toured, the property was quiet, advertised pool and gym access, and showed newly renovated units. I signed a one-year lease believing it would be a decent fit. That could not have been further from the truth. At move-out, I was charged $1,732, in addition to a *$450 charge for a door that was kicked in by another individual who admitted responsibility. Even after that, I continued to receive charges that did not add up or were never properly explained. Two months before move-out, the main leasing agent lost my rent check, and despite my perfect payment history (never late, never missed a payment), I had multiple notice-to-vacate papers taped to my door, which was humiliating and completely avoidable especially since this delay was in no way my fault. I dealt with mold on my ceiling, which management attempted to blame on me despite the fact that I had lived there less than a year. I also could not move in for a month and a half after receiving access....I understand being charged a cleaning fee for any move out but the fact that the apartment wasn't clean when I received it just feels like robbery this delay was also due to a heavy cigarette smoke smell. I have asthma and was told the smell would be gone by move-in--it was not. I had to personally air out the unit and continuously use fresheners just to make it livable. After moving in, a gated exit near my apartment was chained shut, leaving only a muddy path for entry and exit. This made it difficult to get to work without ruining shoes and clothing and caused delays during a medical emergency, to the point where emergency responders had to cut the chain themselves. Maintenance issues were constant and unresolved: My refrigerator leaked for the first four months, preventing me from safely buying groceries No smoke detector in my bedroom for 4-5 months No kitchen light cover, leaving the bulb exposed Multiple maintenance requests ignored or delayed Amenities were frequently shut down under the excuse of cleaning or repairs, but residents were told this was actually due to security being unable to control the property. Safety was a serious concern--there were prior shootings, and my door was kicked in during my lease. Instead of removing the responsible party, security allowed them to remain directly outside my apartment. I slept that night unable to fully close my door. If you have children or value safety, do not live here. This was my first apartment living on my own at 20 years old, and while the staff was occasionally kind, the overall negligence, lack of accountability, and unsafe conditions made this an extremely stressful and uncomfortable experience. The only reason I avoided pest issues was because I lived upstairs--my downstairs neighbors were not as lucky. There are many newer, low-income apartments in Pittsburgh and Oakley that are far safer and better maintained. If you need recommendations, feel free to reply--I am more than willing to help. I would not recommend Mira Vista Hills to anyone.(not even my worst enemy) please don't make the same mistake I did read the review comparing other sites and listen to testimonials of people who have lived here!!!

I lived here since 2020 and just moved out 2026. Guess who still hasn't gotten their security deposit or any communication from Kirker Creek WHATSOEVER since I moved out? That's right, me! The former resident who lived there for 72 months, paid over $175,000 in those 72 months. On time, mind you. Because trust me if you're even one day late, there's gonna be a notice on your door that you need to pay immediately or get out in three days. But them?! No. They can be late with returning your security deposit for over two months, three months, a year. Why? Because it's your money and they don't care about giving you your money. It only matters when it's THEIR money. Also, you should know that whatever rent you see posted for an apartment, that you should add about $350 more to that. Yeah, you heard me right. About $350 extra to whatever rent they're posting. What's the extra charge you ask? Oh, it's just their "utilities". For a water bill... That's split amongst 542 units of various family sizes. And the garbage? That's split too between 542 units. Since I have lived here, they have gone through five different managers. Maintenance literally would take months. Months. They told me at one point we're backed up for four months. And guess what? Even after those 4 months passed, nobody came! That's why they had to change property management, again! Kirker Creek keeps getting sued over and over again. Oh, and the *luxury THREE pools* they have!? Get ready to be paying $3000 a month for these ghetto, very outdated from the 80s apartments, where people will invite their whole families and their family's neighbors, and their cousins' family's neighbors and everybody and anybody and Jimbo from down the street to come to the pool. Nobody that will be at the pool even lives there. Nope! they don't respect the rules. Yes! they're gonna be smoking weed, tobacco, and drinking alcohol and blasting music very loud. And guess what? As a paying resident, you have absolutely nothing you can do about it. The pools are not usable during the summer and if you would try to have your family there or bring like little kids there, good luck unless you want them at a daytime club party with girls drunk in their thongs and hooking up in the back with dudes. The only thing they've ever done to address the pool issue is just close the pools to everybody. So you can pay $3000 a month to just be hot in your apartment and never use the dirty pools. A win is a win, right? They don't enforce the smoking rule so expect that your house will reek of tobacco and or weed or whatever your neighbor chooses to smoke in their house. Their Maintenence takes forever to get anything done. It is true what another reviewer said; they act like they fix stuff, and it'll break again bc they cut corners. I'm so glad to be out of this place, it had some good things-- mostly my own memories I made with family, but it definitely needs someone who cares about tenants to run this place. Found roaches, centipedes, millipedes, lizards, snakes, rats, spiders, flies Those are just some of the critters and creatures I encountered living there. Anyways, if you took the time to read this far, what are you doing? Run far away from this place. Run Forrest run.
