Cabins are surprisingly comfortable, both cabins we stayed were really clean, they have kitchens and of course a BBQ ready :) Prices are also great, if you're coming as a group like we did, it is very affordable. Owner is friendly and ready to help whenever you need, but also respectful to your privacy. We are in love with this place and we will definitely keep coming on each opportunity :)

Owner not outwardly friendly, but if you don't care to make friends with host/owner, this is a great place. Not rude, just not overly friendly.

Viewing the chalet on line, it looked like the perfect space for us to celebrate! After receiving my confirmation I began booking the ferries required for our trip and dinner reservations to help celebrate my husband and daughters birthday. I breathed a sigh of relief to have it all set....until..I received a phone call from guy at green acres saying that it turns out they don't have my accommodations available. I don't understand how this happens. Obviously someone not doing their job properly, and we end up paying the price. All he could offer was a small unit, and a suggestion of another resort. After which time, I found out to be impossible to find accommodations at this time. So much for our planned weekend away.... :(

Shirley always makes great breakfasts (her eggs Benedict, sausage pie, pea meal bacon and ginger scones are my favorites) and the different rooms I've stayed in here have all been very comfortable. The king size room has a microwave, TV, mini fridge, huge soaker tub, sauna and is enormous. The rates are the best on the Island, ranging from $45 for a single to $95 for the king. there's a beautiful little pond and creek and a gorgeous gazebo and hot tub. It's near Vesuvius at the north of the Island. you gotta stay here- it's delightful and great value. And you'll love Shirley.

And the staff and food prep did not disappoint! Started out with lobster bisque (with a good amount of lobster) and a dozen snails (chef slipped a couple extra!) in a marvelous garlic butter and Parmesan sprinkled over all. Then for entree we enjoyed a wonderfully prepared Herb Crusted Wild Pacific Red Snapper With Creamy Parmesan Polenta, Basil Pesto. I enjoyed the Pan-Seared Nova Scotia Deep Sea Scallops on a fresh bed of lettuce mix and greens. So definitely a restaurant to try but you'll want to plan staying a night or more given they are on an island off the Vancouver island! Rooms are great also with some placed in cabins with views making you feel like you're in a tree house amongst the pines. Of particular notes, each morning different fresh baked muffins mysteriously appeared outside the suite door . But definitely the breakfast each day was amazing.

Each site has a firepit, and the campground office sells firewood at $7/bundle. We camped two nights here in a tent while bike touring. It has a few hills coming from town, but the whole island is a bit hilly. It is about 5 km from Ganges town, about 25-30 mins bike ride depending on your fitness level. If the weather is bad, at least there is a recreation room to retreat into that overlooks the water. Facilities they have are: - electricity at the campsite - heated washrooms (up to 13c) - flush toilets with running warm water - warm showers - outside sink for dishwashing - wifi internet - hot tub (6 ppl capacity) - small pool - recreation games room that is heated -- ping pong table -- television with cable tv channels -- couches with coffee table for board games - boat to borrow There is a movie theater nearby as well and the ability to launch boats into St Mary's lake to go fishing. Also available are campsites for RVs & trailers, and cabins with full kitchen and BBQ for cooking. We paid $35/night for 3 people with two tents sharing one campsite. You can call ahead to reserve your spot. Payment in advance required to reserve. Site 16 & 17 is really close to the washrooms. Note that there are exterior lights to the washroom if you think it might bother your sleep.

Used to love coming here until the horrible new management. After ten years of coming here, our…read moregroup will never be back. Honestly the worst holiday experience I've ever had. We are a pretty easy going group but we were screamed at and chased(!!!) by management... The rules have been changed to be much less hospitable and, far more frustrating, any time we inadvertently broke a new rule it was addressed very aggressively.

It was also nice to talk to the people who walk their dogs down the trail. If you actually follow that trail over the bridge there is a "workout" area and some more beach front spots to relax at. Compared to other campgrounds we went to this one was very much appreciated. It was quiet, well priced, and beautiful. Be sure to bring everything that you need with you, as the nearest town is Duncan which is about a 18 minute drive. There are some areas nearby to pick up supplies but overall it's pretty hit or miss if you're shopping down the road. (We were alright with that though.)

We had voiced our concerns for our safety to management (Richard) who promptly dismissed it saying he could not control public. Felt so unsafe on this site that we had to sleep in our car in fear of further harassment. i would never recommend this site to anyone I know. do not book.
