We really loved this place. We stayed in one of the cottages and it was spotless clean, and super comfortable, with a beautiful view of the ocean. The cottage has a gas fireplace and bathroom has radiant floors, which being right by the ocean, are must-haves so glad to have them. King bed in the bedroom was a little too soft for me and sunken in. We were expecting a full kitchen as stated on their website, and we brought all our food. However we discovered there was no oven, so that ruined out brownie plans. :( Gas stove and BBQ however worked well. Another notable was the rec room in the main building. Lots of fun with a shuffleboard, billiards and ping pong. Pool and hot tub were clean and nice and our cottage came with 2 bathrobes. We also utilized their library of DVDs and board games. This place has thought through things well and is a 4.5 star for me. Would have been a 5 if there had been an oven, and the bed was not as sunken and soft. It was a lovely, quiet, relaxing and scenic stay. We would recommend and return!

This is a beautiful quaint little family run oasis on Mitchell Bay. There are hotel style rooms, and private cabins. We stayed in a private cabin on the waterfront for our anniversary this year. The cabins are stunning. Everything was super clean. You have a full kitchen and appliances should you want to cook, even equipped with a BBQ outside! There's a small living space, and the bathroom felt like a luxury spa! The shower had pebbled floorings which were so nice. The bedroom was cozy and comfortable and not to mention pitch black which was amazing for sleep! We slept with all windows open at night and slept great with the cool air and again I can't stress enough how quiet the property is. My favorite part is the windows at the front looking at the water and the little sitting nook by the kitchen. I sat there or in the chairs out front for most of our trip just admiring the water and stillness. So pretty! There's a little greenery area for sitting, play lawn games, or fire pits for smores. They also have kayaks and paddle boards for use during the day which was a nice amenity. They also have a general store and coffee shop on property with everything you might need. My favorite part is their water system that's fully treated and maintained by them. Because of it the shower water is so soft and serene, and the drinking water is amazing straight from the tap! This was a 10/10 stay from top to bottom, and we already can't wait to come back!

Check-in was done at the lobby. At the lobby one will also find a store and a coffee shop. Complimentary movies and games can also be checked out at the lobby to enjoy back at your lodging. The store offers a little bit of everything, from clothing to snacks. Complimentary ice machines are available. Bagged ice can be purchased though. Lower-level parking is limited and was completely full in the evenings. We were lucky enough to get a parking spot every time we returned from playing. Wheel barrel type carts located at the gate make transporting luggage effortless to rooms. Adirondack chairs are scattered about the edge of the property to enjoy sipping a beverage, reading or admiring the view. A fire-pit, community BBQ, picnic area and kids play area help pass the time while on-site. The paly area is at the lobby end for those who do not wish to have quarters near noise. The cabin we were given was number 10, a handicap unit. The very first cabin upon entrance and the furthest from the lobby and play area. Our cabin was clean and well equipped. Snug Harbor provided us the peace that we were seeking at the time. My one suggestion would be to offer fresh baked chocolate chip cookies in the lobby to establish a more personal touch.

The water is so still at times, it's just like a mirror! Inside the cabins, everything was clean, and while not what I would call luxurious, it was comfortable and well maintained. The WiFi worked very well, in fact, much better than any wilderness resort I've been in before. They've got an outdoor hot tub as well, but we didn't try it since it was February and the evening temp dipped down to about 1 C. However, we did go canoeing on the lake, and it was fantastic - the highlight of our stay on Saltspring. Off the main highway, you actually have to drive for several kms to get here. But it's still only about a 10 minute drive to Ganges. Just one small item to take note of: The floor felt quite cool, and it took the wall heaters quite a while to warm things up. So next time we will probably bring our own small portable heater.

(Delayed posting - this is regarding a trip in February 2022.)…read more While we didn't stay at the inn, four of us went for both a meal, and (on a different day) massages. We have been here before (for the spa - restaurant was closed during COVID, when we were last there), and were thus return customers for the spa, and first-timers for the restaurant. The meal was really good; definitely good value for money (though it wasn't cheap). If you have vegetarians (like my spouse) in the crowd, the "hippie/draft dodging" history of Galiano Island means you have some pretty great options. LOVED the soup! Everyone left full, and happy. As for the massages, we all agreed they were simply TERRIFIC! Notably, Linda (who was my masseuse) gave me the best massage I have received. (I am sufficiently spoiled to have had a few...) Seriously, will plan my next trip around Linda's availability.

I booked a 3 day stay here with my wife as a much needed getaway that was supposed to be relaxing…read moreand worry free but it turned into a nightmare before we even arrived. Right after I booked, I began getting inundated with redundant emails requesting the exact same information I had already provided at the time of booking. I called the front desk and was unable to reach them so I left a message. A couple of days passed and nobody had followed up so I called again with the same results so I emailed them and called again a couple of days later and finally reached someone. At this time, I tried to make a reservations at the restaurant but I was notified that the restaurant would be closed during our stay which was disappointing to say the least. They responded by upgrading us to a villa which has a fully equipped kitchenette. So I though, "No biggie, it's not ideal but that'll work", and we accepted the upgrade. At that time, I also booked a couples massage with my wife at 3:00 p.m. on the 21st of December. Shortly after I received a confusing email stating that it's 2023 and she was looking at 2024 when she booked it so it's not Saturday it's Thursday and it needs to be my wife at 1:30 p.m. and me at 3:00 p.m. Her email made no sense at all so I called back to sort out the confusion and spoke with the manager who, after a brief hold, got back to me and let me know that she had sorted it out and she had booked both my wife and I for 3:00 p.m. on the 21st. Fast forward a couple of weeks and we arrived at the inn and checked in on December 20th in the evening. The room looked great with a beautiful patio, hot tub, barbecue, comfy furniture, a great king sized bed, etc... we were impressed. But that was the only highlight of the whole stay. We had a late night and slept in til the afternoon the next day and, while we were making our late breakfast, received a call from the spa saying that we were late for our 1:30 p.m. appointment. I corrected the spa attendant, letting her know that after speaking with the manager, we had been confirmed for 3:00 p.m. for a couple's massage, but she decided to make it an argument and told me that the manager had never let her know that and that my only option was to either come right now or cancel. I decided to go speak to them in person at the spa and when I arrived there, the attendant was very rude, refused to try and work out any type of solution, and again reiterated that my only option was to either be seen at separate times or cancel the service because she was just an attendant with no power and couldn't do anything to solve this problem. She was so unhelpful that I requested a manager, but of course, conveniently, no manager was working that day. One of the RMTs came out from the back when he overheard our heated discussion and, while he was much more polite than the attendant, all he did was make excuses for the poor management and the resulting customer experience we were having. We ended up with no resolution, no solutions offered, and so, what should have been a relaxing getaway was now just an overpriced hotel stay with ZERO spa service and no restaurant. If we wanted to cook for ourselves, do dishes, and not get spa treatment for these 3 days, we could have saved ourselves the exorbitant price tag and just stayed home. If you follow my reviews, you'll see that I much prefer to leave kind words to celebrate a job well done than to leave bad ones because of poor service but this place is, by far, the most disorganized, unaccountable Mickey Mouse organization I've ever dealt with and I felt that it needed to be exposed. If you're reading this review, do yourselves a favour and AVOID THIS PLACE at all costs. It just isn't worth the headache. You'll find better views, better rooms, and exponentially better service, with dignity, at one of the other resorts on Vancouver Island like Brentwood Bay, The Kingfisher, or Tigh-Na-Mara. 0 stars
