Feels like a scam of a service When we moved in we were backdated for MONTHS where service was not used, while the home was vacant and for sale still. Outrageous. And they make it impossible to pause service when you're out of town or don't need it. We hardly fill a bag every week but you're gonna always be charged for garbage. That's crazy. read more

A LRS portable toilet has been sitting in my driveway for project work performed by Smardbuild of Naperville. The project ended 7/23/25. No one has picked it up. I called myself on Tuesday 7/29 and I was told it would be picked up Wednesday, 7/30. I called again today and I was told the driver has the ticket, but they don't come to my suburb very often so it probably isn't a priority! This is a horrible attitude. Is there someone at LRS who can make it a priority? LRS was willing to come out here to deliver it, make some revenue, but they don't care to pick it up? Is the driver in charge and he gets to go where he wants? I ask that someone who cares at LRS get involved to resolve this promptly. There are neighborhood kids going in there since it's been here so long. This is now a hazard LRS has put on my property. read more

I have had to call Lakeshore 3 times just this spring/summer because our yard waste was not picked up. Pick up is supposed to be on garbage day. Bags are tagged and waiting for pick up and nobody shows up. I have called every time and told they would get picked up and they never do. Terrible customer service. Lakeshore is incapable of picking up yard waste on schedule. Bags sit at the end of our driveway for days on end after calling them daily and their promising to send out someone daily for the missed pickup. worse company throughout. just started picking trash at commercial strip mall a few months back.insist on showing up at 7 am on sundays!have been loud banging dumpsters and leaving trash residue in the alley.rat issue because of their ignorance.have emailed and called but no relief.in factdrivers purposely are more rude by making more noise and leaving crap in the alleys after every stop!childish! management has listened but no resolution.terrible employees,top to bottom. will contact city about rat issue. avoid this company because of their lack of common decency. read more

I've had it with LRS Recycling...after missing a pickup, and telling me they would send someone within two days to pick it up, they decided they would do a "double pickup" on my normal day. I told them I paid for weekly service, and I wanted a refund...which they responded...we don't provide refunds for missed pickups...so in other words, they are billing me for services they are not providing. Sounds like a class action lawsuit to me. To make matters worse, they want to charge me $60 to pick up the cans the previous owners left at the house when I moved it. Last 3 times we called for compactor hauls, they damaged something. They even called to let us know, how nice, but they refuse to pay the bill! Service, as well as customer service, sucks since they changed from ENVRD! Can not get a hold of anyone on the phone and no one responds to emails. Its been over 3 months with no communication. Yard waste pickup is a nightmare. I supposedly need to call every week to request the pickup (and wait on hold for 20+ minutes), wait for them to then NOT pick up the bags, call again the next day (wait again for 20+ minutes), and every time get told a different, conflicting story by a different person. Apparently the NEW rule today is that I need to sticker each bag at $3.50+ per bag, call in advance, and have a minimum of 5 bags. I'm sure next week that will change. This shouldn't be a full-time job for the customer. read more

Have needed to call there several times in the past couple weeks and it has taken AT LEAST 45 minutes for them to even answer the phone. Then when you get someone they arent able to retain the answers you give them so the questions they ask. Incredibly frustrating. Currently on hold with them for one hour and four minutes because I had to call to ask when a dumpster I had spent an hour ordering was never delivered. Their costs have gone up while their reliability has gone down. I highly recommend another service if it's at all possible. The drivers seem to be running the company because if they don't see fit to pick up the garbage, they won't. And they don't respond to calls from dispatch, so basically whoever is picking up your garbage is in charge. Not a good recipe for a company. read more

We are new commercial customers and our recycling was not picked up for a month. Repeated attempts to call, email and even write a letter did not get their attention. Then 2 weeks later they did not pick up our regular garbage. Three days of trying various ways to contact them and all lies. We'll pick it up today never happened we had to wait 2 weeks for a pick up. Customer service wait times are so long on the phone. They probably are getting too many calls for poor service. Do not use their services, we will be looking elsewhere. read more

I followed up with the company today and interacted with a pleasant young lady in customer service. I explained the background and she spoke with operations mgmt and their agreed to pick up their equipment without a charge. I was with Roy Strom for 20 plus years and would have stayed, but none of my calls / msg thru the website were answered, so I went with the competitor. read more

I manage the trash at my church, Lakeshore Recycling has been doing the trash since they took over the company we originally hired. This past month I have had to call them multiple times to pick up the trash. I will be looking for a new service ASAP. read more

I have been a general contractor and home builder for over 30 years. During that time I have used many refuse and sanitation companies. Hoving is hands down better than any other company I have used. They offer a variety of services for one stop purchasing, they are available at extended hours, and everyone from the dispatcher down to the drivers and sanitary workers is polite and professional. I would of given it 0 stars if it was an option. Nothing but issues with this garbage company. Took two calls to get my garbage can delivered to start service. First week, we were forgotten on there route and our garbage was not picked up. Same with the following week. The third week they took the recycle bin but left the garbage can. Called twice asking to speak to a supervisor and no call back. Very mismanaged and horrible customer service! read more

To be fair, I didn't use their service. I called to get a quote on a 10 yard roll off dumpster. For a 10 yard dumpster, they were $100 more than the 12 yard size offered by the first two companies I called. Yikes. Maybe their service is better and they have super clean dumpsters. Wouldn't recommend, service was terrible and the customer service is even worse. I didn't think to look up reviews before using their services because it's garbage pick up, I didn't think I needed to. But listen to the reviews, if you have any issues the head of the billing department (Brad i believe) will simply tell you to "use a new company, it's an open market". And then will have someone from their billing department call you who knows nothing about what they're saying and they'll tell you that your in collections for a bill that hasn't even been processed or issued yet because it was being revised due to the number of mistakes and times they didn't even pick up my garbage. Every employee I've spoken to has been rude and gave me wrong information. Even the supervisor is rude. I was promised a call back the same day and it took me over a week to speak to someone else. I took Brads advice and switched to Groot...they've been wonderful AND it's actually cheaper. Thanks for the advice Lakeshore Recycling, that was the only thing helpful they actually did. read more
