Have since left attending and found a better church but they made token attempts but not serious efforts retaining the young adult/young professional population which is a large opportunity for the area (very few churches offer this and are increasingly cutting off after a certain age). The YA/YP groups were often self run by volunteers and didn't get much support or promotion from the church staff and quickly dwindled in attendance and dissolved. While the church has city presence and outreach efforts it is run like a business with a revenue focus and sermons are topical but not deep into the Bible for the adults attending. You will feel more left out if the focus is heavily on having families and you aren't at that stage of life. read more

We have attended Lakeside for about 4 years. It has been nothing short of amazing!!!! Pastor Brad, Sean, and John are all great messengers for God. Our music director Josh and the music team are awesome!!!! Lots of great activities to get involved with. Kids are a top priority as well. Great classes for the kiddos. I've been a part of Lakeside Church since 2009 and I am glad to belong to this cool community of believers. The church offers a ton of great places to be involved including the kids program, high-energy jr. high and high school groups, and many adult ministries for adults in many life stages. One of my favorite things about Lakeside is their service schedule. You can go Saturday evenings or Sunday mornings. On Sunday at 10:45 there is even a small church meeting called the Family Room where families can attend together. My husband and I have been a part of that gathering since it began. The staff at Lakeside is amazing, and the three main teachers, Brad, Sean and John each bring their unique perspectives and passions to their sermons. Lakeside proclaims the Word of God and helps people find daily applications to live out God's truth in their lives. I love my church! read more

My family and I started attending Lakeside in May of 2016. we were looking for a place we could call "home" and we have found it. The music and worship, connection and spiritual growth that is scripture centered are what drew us here and within the first couple of weeks we really felt connected. Of course you have to put in the effort as well to connect, but that is VERY available for those that are wanting to. At the same time, if you are just not sure about any thing "church" wise, this place will allow you to feel comfortable, be yourself and get answers to questions you may have about God, life, acceptance and more! This church has a good balance of spirituality without being too religious. All the services are a good mix of singles, married couples, and a variety of age groups. I would recommend this church to a hard core Christian as well as an atheist. It's also a good church for someone who is a new Christian or someone just tying to find some answers. The Paster Brad, does a good job of relating to others and I can appreciate his sermons based on good morals and values that coincide with biblical principals. My family and I have started to go to Lakeside the fall of 2015. We both grew up in a small church, so it was really intimidating to attend one that has multiple services and tons of people. We were pleasantly surprised that the Pastors, staff, and congregation are very welcoming and real. The "real-ness" of the pastors and their desire to preach Grace alongside Truth is what keeps me coming back. The music is amazing! There's a good mix of familiar songs as well as newer, unique ones that you don't hear every day on the radio. I like it! Having said all this, how easily we get connected and plugged in depends on how we reach out to people as well as the pastors and become involved. Don't expect to be greeted or seen or get to know someone if we just stand there amidst the sea of people. If we step just a little bit outside of our comfort zones, we will be welcomed here! At least this is what I've experienced. Oh, and they have a special needs ministry! This is big for our family. :) Overall, this is the place our family will call "home" for this season in life. It's big enough that if we need a break from serving, we can just receive and rest. However, it is still small enough that opportunities to serve are always available. read more

I just recently started attending, I think the best advice I could give is if you are interested in a church, attend and see for yourself if it feels right. I did find it odd to see on a slide about a month ago to "find us on yelp". Weird to me. As a common user of yelp, I go on it to find a good burger, not a good church, if you already made it to the door, probably don't need the review. So just out of curiosity I went on yelp to see who actually looks on yelp for a church. Not many reviews, so I think yelp as a form of social media for churches isn't really used. Here's the kicker- 4 reviews out of the 12 (which span 4 years) were added during the month where the "find us on yelp" ad came on during the opening slide show. Those four reviews were from members of different areas of service in the church giving their positive feedback. There are lots of positives about lakeside, but using Yelp as strategic positive advertisement seems odd. read more

I attended their 10:30 service this morning for the first time. I read online they were a "Non denominational " Church. The Pastor Brad Franklin said this morning that his church , Bayside, etc were "catholic churches."So now Im confused are they catholic or Non denominational Christian?Or maybe to get more members they are both? It was a very confusion message. He has no charisma , just kept saying the same thing over and over, and he became very repetitive . The baptisms were the best part of the service. But I think Ill go back to Bayside, at least they identify as Christians. read more

This is not my home church but I still go here on occasion. My two daughters, now adults, spent much of their childhood in the church's youth program, which has always been top notch. Pastor Brad Franklin provides a great message. The worship music is also very good. They have gone through a variety of worship leaders over the years and the current one, Josh, appears to be very humble. He does a great job. They also have a lot of small groups available so that people can grow their faith in an intimate setting. This church is not afraid to try something new. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Overall, this is definitely a church I would recommend. read more

I couldn't disagree with Mike more..but to each his own! I love Lakeside! My husband and I moved here recently and tried a few other churches before we got to Lakeside and heard Brad speak and we could feel his heart and knew this was our church home. Very friendly people, amazing pastors, lists of great out reach and fellowship. They make it easy to join in and become part of their church family. I'm part of a wonderful women's grow group on Wednesday nights. Couldn't say enough good things about this place. read more

Love my church! One of my favorite things about Lakeside is how incredible the children's programs are. My kids look forward to going to church every single weekend. They learn about Jesus and I know they are loved by their teachers and helpers in the classrooms. Lakeside also puts a huge emphasis on connecting with the community. Not only do I love working at this church, but it's a church I love to call home! It's amazing to see people gather every week to worship God, in an environment that is welcoming and enriching to unchurched guests, and seasoned church-goers alike. Sitting in this church right now and listening to a David Bowie song during worship! Really?! I thought church was the one place to worship our Lord and Savior and seek refuge from the world. The church is suppose to be the one place to honor our God with worship to and about Him. That's how the Holy Spirit moves through people and touches their hearts. Why break that wth a secular song? Is 20 minutes really too long to just sing praises to our King? Another thing I noticed the few times I have attended this church is that they continually offer divorce care classes. Now nothing is wrong with that. I believe that they should because unfortunately that is reality in the church. However, if their going to offer divorce care they need to offer classes for troubled marriages. Classes that help marriages thrive and grow according to Gods design. Why don't they do that continually just like divorce care? I wouldn't say this is a false church but I would say they are treading in "lukewarm waters." "So, because you are lukewarm--neither hot nor cold--I am about to spit you out of my mouth. Revelations 3:16" I was going to rate this church 1 star but pastor brad did preach a great message about having a firm foundation in Christ. read more

I've been attending Lakeside all my life and they continue to grow and change. This is the best church I've been to (and I've been to A LOT) that helps create the connection between people. I'm sorry to say, this church has brought the culture into it. there was so much of an entertainment level that I had a hard time worshipping the Lord. Very appealing to the flesh; concert style music for worship, huge props on the stage, funny pastor, psychology type preaching where the pastor talks more of how we behave, and supports that with some scripture, then he does just going through scripture and explaining it, like preaching is suppoesd to be. Short message, and of course, plenty of coffee. Oh, yeah, you can even listen to the sermon in the lobby while drinking coffee and talking to your friends. Hmmm, have we forgotten that church is for the Lord, and to glorify Him, and to be convicted of our sinful life? It is not for our entertainment. I'm disappointed that church has become so self-centered, catering to the flesh, making it hard to truly be a humble servant to the Lord. I want meat, not watered down milk. read more
