My wife and I sought out this service because she was in genuine need of prayer and spiritual support. We were asked to make an initial payment of $25 upfront, with an additional $75 requested afterward --framed as a "donation." As a ministry operating in the name of Jesus Christ, I believe donations must remain truly voluntary. Requiring payment and labeling it a "donation" feels deceptive and, frankly, borders on fraudulent. Prayer and ministry should be freely given, not sold. The session itself was deeply disappointing and inadequate. My wife was respectful throughout--she spoke calmly, answered the facilitator's questions honestly, and never raised her voice or showed disrespect. Yet the facilitator appeared personally offended by her responses and seemed unwilling or unable to continue effectively. The prayer we desperately hoped for never materialized. Instead of compassion and strength, we encountered weakness and fragility that prevented any meaningful help. Even more troubling, one of the very first topics raised -before we had even fully walked in the door was whether the same card could be charged for the remaining $75. That set the tone: a cold, transactional welcome that ranks among the least hospitable I have ever experienced in any church or ministry setting. I chose to overlook it in the moment because my wife truly needed help, but in the end she was let down when she was most vulnerable. We deserve a full refund of the $25 already paid, no further charges attempted, and a sincere apoloav. I hope the leadership reflects honestly on these practices rather spiritualizing this dysfunction. Prospective visitors should be aware: if you come seeking prayer, expect to encounter mandatory fees disguised as donations, a highly transactional approach, and the risk of an inadequate session if your honest answers don't align with the facilitator's expectations. Proceed with caution.

Aside, upon physically attending Vintage Grace Church, I was happy receiving Sermons from Matthew which were shared for Christmas Service. Reiterating, I'm elated Vintage Grace Church also offers live feed broadcasts I may watch Sunday Mornings-10:45 AM--ONLINE Church Services due to the inability physically attending church for whatever unforeseen circumstances beyond my control.

You will be greeted by an usher. During the service there is a time to greet people around you. If you are new, during this time several of the members will come over to welcome you. You will be offered a bag of goodies on the way out which includes a Bible. The pastor, Dave Huusko, shakes everyone's hands as they leave the service. (Of course, you can escape through one of the side doors if you prefer to avoid greeting the Pastor. I believe that Dave knows when I plan to show up to this church and writes the sermon for me! The sermons are always touching and thought provoking. If you like contemporary music, you will want to attend the second service. There is a band led by Len Jones. The music is always touching and puts you in the moment to worship. The denomination of Journey Church is Presbyterian. The first service is very traditional and includes many of the traditional doxologies, songs, and programs.

I was used to being able to be lost in the crowd. Here there is no where to hide. The service is great and the church is not overwhelming. My wife is strong in faith! Myself not so much but I go for support. Tim is a great speaker one of those people that cracks a joke just to make sure your paying attention. Also the rest of the fellowship team when their time to share the word do it justice! The events the church puts on for everyone is outstanding! We have been attending for the past 2 years and I love it! Our family is so blessed to be apart of the Bayside church and love the heart they have for people. I have learned not to be judgmental and be more open minded to God's love for all people. I love the worship and that was an important part of me choosing this church. My mom is also a fan of this parish and enjoys listening to Father Renier. I also appreciate their gift shop within the church which in my opinion, has some pretty reasonably-priced items. I've already purchased different statues and gifts for house blessings for family and friends. I'd say that in all of Sac County, this is the only gift shop that I've been to so far that have a variety of items from bracelets, prayer cards, Saint cards, Holy Family and Saint statues, holy water don't and many other things. So it's definitely my fave place to visit for gifts. Inside the church, there is beautiful Divine Mercy chapel area where you can light candles and also pray to St. Joseph. And lastly, the youth choir in the evening mass 6pm on Sunday is always wonderful to attend to hear the youth sing their beautiful voices. If you are in Folsom check this church out.
