It hurt when he tried to put it in straight, so he put it in at an extreme angle towards the back of my jaw. After being the sickest I've ever been in my life for about four months, I went back to get the tooth put on the post, at which time he removed the post, told me that it had failed and immediately left the room. Then he refused to reimburse me at all. I finally talked him in to giving me half my money back, but he never did. After repeated phone calls made to his office over a few months and being given various excuses about how it was "in the works" I finally went to confront him personally and was told he could not give my money back because of the ressession. When I got slightly irate about this lame excuse, he said he was going to call the police. I left and when I got home I had a message from the Hartwell police to come and see them. So I did. Turns out, he had his receptionist call the police and act like I had scared her, when actualy he and I had stepped outside at his request to discuss the matter, and she had not been menanced in the least.(for that matter neither had he. He's a 6' 2 240 pound steroid freak, and I was about 5"10 160 pound 49 year old sick man. I did not menace anybody.) I was banned from his property and told not to contact him again and had to sign apiece of paper agreeing to this. The police captain I talked to at the time was very nice and suggested that I sue Dr? Smith, but I was too sick to pursue this course of action and just moved on. There were several other Horror stories I could tell about this creep, but I expect you get the general idea. In my opinion he should have his license revoked but there's not much I can do Except warn others of his lieing, thieving, hamhanded butchery. stay away from this thief!!!!

When Doctor Jackson was at Cornelia Dental, I would highly rate the practice. However, with Dr…read more Darren Owen, I would recommend staying away. He contradicts himself from one visit to the next. When you have a serious medical condition, and try to explain the precautions for procedures, he huffs, "It doesn't matter." He didn't even try to help with the reason for my visit on this particular day. All he wanted to discuss was an upcoming procedure, which is not happening with him. He said one thing the first visit and a totally different thing this time. He's all over the place. I will find a kind and competent dentist that listens to medical concerns. And by the way, I have friends and family who have left the practice since Dr Owen took over, because of some of the same things I am sharing now. However, his assistant was a helpful and polite young man. I am blessed to be surrounded by kind, competent and compassionate medical professionals. Unfortunately, Dr (??) Owens is not one of them.

I wanted to schedule an appointment with Dr Jackson or Dr Kang since they were recommended to me…read more Both of them are still showing on their website. When I contacted the office they let me know that Dr Owens is the only dentist that is still there (guess all the other dentists that used to work there left) and they would be happy to schedule an appointment for me but then they would have to refer me out anyway because Dr Owens can't do the same dental procedures that Dr Jackson and Dr Kang did when they were there. Why would they leave doctors on their website that aren't working there anymore? If they can't even keep their website updated, can I trust them with my dental care? I had heard great things about this office but since Dr Jackson retired and sold his business things have changed a lot and not for the better.

I recently had to have gum graft surgery due to recession. Unfortunately for me, it was at my front…read morelower gum area so it was quite obvious with a big smile. I had put off my dentist's recommendations for the procedure out of fear. I received his recommendation for Dr. Garrison and now I wish I had not put it off. Dr. Garrison was great. He explained the surgery and what I should expect. I also had pretty serious recession (I think he said around 5) and it was beginning to expose the root of my tooth, so I was going to stretch the "limits" of how much tissue could really cover the recessed area. Dr. Garrison was up for the challenge. The morning of the procedure, he informed me he was going to try for the whole "enchilada". In other words, he was going to attempt what training said could not be done and cover the entire area. I was not "put under", but just had numbing in the gum and the roof of my mouth where the donor tissue was coming from. I could communicate and hear everything that was going on. I didn't experience any discomfort during the procedure. Dr. Garrison is very gentle and I didn't feel like my mouth was stretched or my lips pulled over my head. He talked to me throughout the procedure and I felt very confident that the job was being done well. I will admit, the healing process is not like a vacation, but I didn't have any bleeding at home and I didn't take any pain medication, prescribed or over the counter. The only real discomfort I had was the stitches rubbed a sore on the inside of my lip, down at the bottom and after the "putty" was removed from the roof (donor) spot, it was tender for a couple of days. Because of the sore on my lip, I called to have Dr. Garrison check it out. He took me right in and it was a little too soon to have the stitches removed so I just tried to keep my lip still as to not irritate it, rinsed with warm salt water and waited two more days. He then called me to come back in to remove the stitches and the roof "putty". After that, the donor area was the only discomfort for a couple of days. I was so pleased. The spot healed perfectly and the tissue blends with the rest of the gum nicely. I can smile and you can't even tell I ever had recession. I am so pleased with his gentle and humble spirit and with the abilities he was blessed with. His son and other staff assistants were very kind and talked me through the process, as well. He has one staff member that works at the front desk that appears a little "rough around the edges", but everyone else at the office was pleasant and friendly. She wasn't rude, she just sounds a little gruff. I would recommend Dr. Garrison for any periodontal needs.
