Advertise month-to-month membership but charge extra month. I tried to renew membership temporary for a summer (moving to Illinois) but they tried to charge all the extra months between now and time I canceled membership. Unbelievable. One of the worst experiences in the gym world. The best idea? To buy a treadmill at home and attend Pilates or Yoga elsewhere.

Every gym has the imbecilic guys in the weight room who think that grunting and dropping heavy weights onto the floor somehow improves muscle tone--but Be also has a large contingent of local high school kids whose presence crowds the very small weight area to the point of making it unusable for long periods of time. Pros: -Be is always clean -The equipment is generally in good working order -The staff is courteous, professional, and knowledgeable -The basic membership is under $50/month Cons: -The lower rates have attracted "less than desirable" clientele -Large portions of the upstairs are underutilized, while the small weight room is jam-packed -The locker room is tiny -The parking lot is shared with the Delafield Hotel, Andrew's Restaurant, and a dance school--the soccer moms who pick up their daughters from dance class park willy-nilly, many of them are rude, obnoxious, and impervious when it comes to parking etiquette

I'm a male in my mid 60s and over the years have needed several different surgical procedures. The work out area, however, is easy to space out in since it's not usually crowded. Like all PFs it's short staffed, but the lone on-duty worker here is usually on top of the too many jobs they have to do. The clientele here is generally not that good about cleaning up equipment after use, so I just clean it myself before starting.

I am at this gym 4-5 days a week. Each week this gym is filthier and filfthier, bathrooms paper in sink and mirrors full of filth. Went in the tanning rooms to see the tanning beds never cleaned or wiped down! Disgusting. The machines never wd 40ed hard to adjust them. I've brought this up multiple times to employees. You never see employees cleaning or vacuuming anymore. Thinking of going to Westwood due to cleanliness here.
