However it's probably just as densely populated with animals, including ponies, pigs, sheep and goats. The have hen coops where you are allowed to feed bread to the chickens, and a pond which has several species of duck and some rare geese. It's all very pretty and clean, though the cats ignore visitors and I couldn't blame them. Several visiting kids were going on about 'scaring the cats away', right in front of their smiling parents. What's that about? You've got to wonder if some people deserve places like this Being larger than the average city farm they can go a little further with the animals They have a shire horse, a very unfriendly turkey who was not happy with anyone coming near his domain, ferrets (not visible when I visited) peacocks and a kookaburra. There's a good under 3s section with a ball pit and 2-stage climbing frame (soft). There are some sit-on soft toys and some blocks. The floor is a bit suspect and there's a bit of an old smell to the area - nothing terrible but you do notice it. The play equipment appears safe but could be in better condition. The main soft play is a triple height affair with climbing, balls, slides and chutes. It's safe and in better condition than the toddler area. At weekends and after school this place can get packed but, during the day it's not too bad. A cafe facility is available serving teas, coffees, soft drinks and snacks. The prices are reasonable. Tables are kept away from the soft play being behind a low wall. They are OK but there's not a good view of the play area meaning that it's hard to have a coffee and take care of your child. For many parents this just seems to mean that they don't watch their child and so you do have to be careful that your child doesn't get set upon by unrully kids. It's not a particularly comfortable place but it's a good local option for a rainy day. Car parking is available.

My kids also enjoyed the animatronic dinosaurs here (very cute). Food here was reasonably priced but we ate outside the park. Parking was free. They offer a lot of different animal interactions here. Open practice is reasonably priced and costs about £40 for 30/40 mins in single engine 4 stroke kart. That might not sound like much for your money but unless you are regular outdoor karter believe me it is long enough on what is a challenging track for novices or indoor karters. Being single engine karts they are light enough for women to handle, my girlfriend likes to come along and have a go and some other tracks karts are too heavy for her to handle for more than 15/20 minutes. Buckmore also has great amenities. It is a fun day out for the guys or a mixed group. If you want a good go-karting experience that is more challenging than an indoor track this is great place to go.
