He took the initiative of pressing the 20% tip button when ringing up our two drinks giving himself a nice $8 tip for poor service and an unimpressive mimosa and martini. $39 for two drinks, I don't know how Lakeside could possibly be considered a dive bar with those prices, very misleading... Much to the dismay of my love handles - I've had my fair share of crispy orange perfectly engineered vehicles for God's gift to earth: buffalo sauce. This sauce could easily replace mass manufactured red table wine as the sacrement representing Christ's blood, because it's without blemish. I guess the colors a little off, but I digress. Went here on Halloween near the end of our night. Bar staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was chill. Dive-bar vibes. They had bob ross tutorials playing in the tv in a loop which I found hilarious and quirky! I got a gin and tonic and some tequila shots. Drinks were good and cheaper than other bars in the area ($8 a drink $5 a shot). The have darts and pool. To play darts you just give them your ID and you have to pay for pool. My friends and I hung out here for a good couple of hours just chatting and playing darts. I will definitely be back here as I loved the older, chill vibes! In its heyday, Lakeside Lounge was my go-to spot for a cold beer and a game on the TV. But lately, rumors have been swirling about a decline in this once-favored establishment. Whispers of security issues, staff turnover, and safety concerns have reached my ears. I can vouch for the security issues firsthand--security has always been a weak spot here, and it hasn't improved. Upon my most recent visit, it became glaringly obvious that some of my favorite bartenders had moved on, replaced by a less engaged crew. The safety concerns, too, are well-founded. A friend mentioned a recent shooting in the parking lot, and over the past two years, there have been numerous reports of robberies at night. Nevertheless, I hold a soft spot for a good dive bar, so I ventured over last Friday, only to find my suspicions confirmed. I haven't been 21 for over 40 years, so I understand the need for ID checks, but the attitude from security was unnecessary. They attempted to pat down patrons coming in, although I was spared. Inside, the bartenders seemed more interested in their own conversation than serving guests. When I finally got their attention, I was at least rewarded with an ice-cold beer in a frosty mug for a few bucks--perhaps the only saving grace of the evening. The people-watching, once a lively mix of locals, has shifted to a crowd of East Nashville hipsters and a younger set that doesn't take anything seriously. Watching sports here has become a chore. The TVs are outdated, and any request to change the channel is met with indifference. I would have stayed for more beers, but the staff was too busy vaping and leaning against the back bar to serve me. There was a time when I would eat here, particularly when they had a stellar burger pop-up. If you're craving a good burger now, you're better off walking across the street to the Bad Luck Burger food truck or heading up the road to Joyland. With so many new bars opening in East Nashville, I struggle to find a reason to return to Lakeside Lounge. For the sake of the ownership, I hope they take a deep look into their operations and make the necessary improvements. I haven't completely given up on this watering hole, but it needs significant strides in all aspects to win back my patronage. read more

You place your order with the bartender, they give you a vibrating pager and when the food is ready you go to the kitchen and pick it up. Got a double patty smash burger with bacon. And some waffle fries. The burger was spot on, or I was just really hungry lol. No, it was good. The added bacon hit the spot. Everything was cooked perfectly. The waffle fries came loaded. Not sure if that was standard. They were good, too. Staff interaction was fine, as me and my friend were the only 2 in there. Typical bar atmosphere in the setup of the place. I'll be honest, I made some snap decisions upon initially walking into this bar. My friend and I were coming for the Bad Luck Burger pop up for lunch on a Saturday. It was a beautiful sunny day, then we walked into a very dark bar-- talk about disorienting! We ordered our burgers at the bar then took a seat. This bar has a lot of charm. It's got old VHS videos as decoration behind the bar and mini tvs in each booth. If you're considering coming for a burger, DO IT!! It will be one of the best burgers that you will ever have the privilege of eating. It's slightly smaller than I expected and it took a while, but it was so well worth the wait. It is a gorgeous smash burger with two patties and cheddar cheese. It's deliciously charred and crunchy on the edges and it will truly make your day. I've never been towed, let alone by a bar or restaurant that I was actually in, until today. I parked in the very empty parking lot here at 4:30pm on a Friday afternoon, walked to UpDown across the street to meet my friends (sue me), and walked back over to Lakeside Lounge around 6pm where I threw darts with my friends. Our group had a few rounds (I was DD and not drinking) and stayed til 7:30 and I came out to the parking lot to find my car had been towed. So they towed me while I was patronizing their establishment all because I hadn't been there the whole time. Honestly, it was an average bar anyway so it's not like they lost a lifetime customer in me, but after seeing other similar google reviews of this place, I'm wondering why they think towing anyone from their empty parking lot on a slow afternoon because they didn't stay in their establishment the whole time is a good business practice. I'm out $200 to the towing company, they have another horrible review and angry customer to their name, and life goes on. read more

I've lived in nashville all my life, never really one to complain, ever. But the last 3 times I have gone there's this one bartender that is so rude, mean, charges people EXTRA, and literally confronted me when I didn't give him a big enough tip. The first time I told him something along the lines of "nice hat bro", and apparently he took offense to that so proceeded to charge me 41 $ for TWO vodka crans. Then I proceeded to go back and be like hey I think this was a mistake, and he was like well try not to insult my hat next time. And for some reason I not only tipped him on the 41$ check but then again on the 21$ dollar check. THENNNNN I proceeded to go there last night and the first bartender that served me was a really nice lady and I tipped her accordingly. But when I went back up that same jerk that was mean to me last time took my order and I didn't tip him this time, at first. Then he proceeded to literally raise his voice and complain to me. So I felt bad and went back to tip him and he then was STILL an ass. Will never being going back because of him. Besides him tho the food is good and everyone is nice:) read more

It does check the dive bar boxes for me, a little dingy, couple ratty pool tables, bartenders who are standoffish at first but slowly warm to a stranger if you're not a douche... oh, and the nearly ubiquitous unflushed toilet visited by someone who only eats frier food that you see in most dive bars at some point. I was at lakeside lounge (a bar I have been once before) with my husband and friends. We were enjoying a college football game and we were winning our bets. All of a sudden the two bouncers came up to us and told us we had to leave. We inquired why and neither of them could answer that question. We then requested to close our tab and we were told we were not allowed to close our tab and would have to come back...so we were just going to leave a open tab all night?! The bouncer then told my husband that he could either leave on his own or he would "put his hands on him and remove him". He never raised his voice, cursed, etc. We were just trying to figure out why we were being asked to leave and wanted close our tab. I asked a bouncer to speak with the manager and he said he was the bartender. So my husband and I went to the bar and spoke with him. He claimed there must have been a miscommunication...he stated he was asking his bouncer if he wanted a drink and somehow the bouncer was confused and thought he was saying to remove us. The bartender/manager stated we were fine and didn't do anything wrong. He spoke with his bouncers and we were allowed to stay. We remained for the end of the game and it wasn't until we left that the bouncers apologized for their behavior. The manager never apologized, didn't offer us a beverage on the house, nothing. I have major concerns that we were threatened to be physically removed for what...clapping because FSU scored a touchdown?!? Spent over $100 and what did I get for it?! disrespected... and threatened with physical removal...great customer service! read more

We had no clue what they were talking about being that we were playing darts and drinking a beer and asked to talk to manager. The manager/bartender had no clue what the bouncer was talking about. I find it very unreasonable that management had no idea what they were talking about. Not only was the bouncer unable to back up what he was saying it was embarrassing for him and for me honestly I would never recommend this place to anyone.
